    Great car! I love the look of it, the interior has the best orange stitching I’ve seen in an SUV, and the off road capability is amazing!

    I had a 2021 rav4 xse that I bought brand new and had for 1 year and 13k miles. I loved the fuel economy, I got 40+ mpg every day, and I did not change a thing about my driving and I would say I drive very spiritedly. I sold it because I had the opportunity to profit 5k over what I had paid for it. Also, I wanted something with more power, cooled seats, more room, and a better heated steering wheel. I now have a 2023 hyundai santa fe, it has all that stuff that I wanted..but fuel economy is easily cut in half. The rav4 was not a bad vehicle.. but I definitely wouldn't buy one if I wanted to do any 'offroading'- as this trim is oriented toward.

    I've been tossing between Rav Adventure / Hybrid / Woodland Hybrid. Not sure what differences you would see from a TRD version compared to Adventure.
    I drive mostly in city, take occasional trip to forest, light dirt, and water crossings, no more than 1 ft deep. It flash floods here everytime it rains where I live. Probably 99% of the time its going to be on road but I'd like the piece of mind that I could do more if anything.
    I'd tow a motorcycle or two every blue moon when I drop it off for maintenance, Usually the trailer is about 500-700lbs, and the bikes are around 400-450lbs.
    I dont know why they put 19's on something like an "Adventure". The roads in South Texas are garbage. I'd much rather have 18's if not 17's.

      We just put a deposit on a 2023 Adventure. The 1 thing we liked was the 3500lb towing as we have a Teryx. We like to go off roading and camping as well. The towing capacity was a huge plus. We are iffy on the hybrid atm thats why we decided on the Adventure versus the Woodland. However with that being said they are both exceptionally rugged and beautiful vehicles in my opinion. Either would be a great choice depending on your preference.
      Edit:We love the 19in tire feature

      @Snafu2346 Год назад

      @@xxdarkqueenxx6664 I appreciate your input. I think in the perfect world, the adventure would get 40mpg. 😁
      Even the Rav 4 Adventure would be an improvement over my current vehicle. I'm debating on just how much adventuring I'll really use. I've been told that I should buy the hybrid because its the 99% of the time I'll use that vs the 1% of the time I won't, I'll just have to be more picky with where I got with it.
      Though I can say my 99 CRV actually crosses the dirt well enough and transverses through the foot deep water already. Not..well, but well enough.
      Are you getting the OEM Toyota Hitch? I was told its pretty expensive, there are some 3rd party ones that are robustly built. I don't mind it cutting through the bumper as it will give me a little departure clearance.
      how much did you pay for the tow hitch/harness for part and install?

    • @xxdarkqueenxx6664
      @xxdarkqueenxx6664 Год назад

      @Snafu2346 Funny you should mention your 99crv as we have a 2000 crv and a 2001 RaV 4 Sporty version silver with grey accent. Both vehicles have over 300,000 miles and counting(lol they will still be driven). As far as the tow package, we will be adding our hitch etc as we are literally buying site unseen. Here in Florida they are hard to get new and you cant customize the Adventure due to that. I wont know which hitch/towing package we add till we take possession. Its still in transit. And ty for your response as well.

    • @Snafu2346
      @Snafu2346 Год назад

      @@xxdarkqueenxx6664 I love my 99 CRV, its been through a decade of harsh snow in Michigan and though it is okay, the Uhaul place did not recommended a hitch install because of lots of rust underneath. Its holding up so so, the engine is working fine, and the original transmission shifts with no issue, check the trans fluid and still pinkish color. Also did basic maintenance. Recently there's been an alarming rattling from... somewhere underneath. happens over bumps, sometimes. No sounds while turning, no squeaks. Just happens during compression. I thought maybe swaybar endlinks, but they mostly seem okay. I can't put that much force with just my bare hands. Maybe shocks? I'm kind of lost. It drives normal and its just an audible sound, there's no clicking.
      I'll have to find a place to take a look at it. The local dealer seemed.....less than enthusiastic about looking at it because they said they don't have, or can find any parts for my car as all of them are on backorder because they're "vintage". So I guess its aftermarket parts. I did my radiator from parts from rockauto.
      The dealer refuse to look at my 99 EM1 SI also.
      I wanted them to look at the intake map sensor. They refuse because the car has a turbo. I said the turbo isn't on the intake manifold, its on the exhaust manifold, the intake manifold is stock everything. They said "no" because a turbo.
      It reminds me of 23 years ago when my radio stopped working and the car was under warranty, and they refused to look at it because I had a intake at the time. What does the intake have anything to do with the radio? They refused.

    • @Snafu2346
      @Snafu2346 Год назад

      @@xxdarkqueenxx6664 I've also considered the Subaru Forester Wilderness as well. Lots of Utility, capability, and enough towing capacity for my motorcycles. The prices seem pretty competitive compared to some of the Ravs. Wish this market was a little better.

    I have a 2019, but now undecided between the Rav4 TRD or Adventure, why Toyota doesn't offer an Adventure TRD is beyond me. Adventure smaller screen not good. TRD 18" wheels fail. When is Toyota going to offer a turbo in this engine. Yes, I take mine off road and it's great.

  • @stefslyfe

    Funny that they removed the power liftgate. My 2019 Adventure has it and it’s a POS. Only works half the time, one of the hinges broke so it won’t close correctly (it’s off center) and it’s out of warranty so would cost about $1500 for them to replace the struts and repair the hinges. What a joke. Great review though Ben

      This is basically a base model Rav4 TRD. It's almost entirely the same but you don't get the TRD wheels, seats, skid plate, shocks, etc. They end up almost being the same price anyway. But the reason to buy the Adventure is to save that $2k-4k and buy your own aftermarket wheels/tires/suspension etc.

    Is there a mechanical difference between the adventure and any other gas rav4

    • @josephnelson9020
      @josephnelson9020 Год назад

      Yes, the Adventure and TRD model have a transfercase that can disconnect power going to the rear driveshaft, and the rear differential has clutches allowing it to send power to one side or the other. I can tell you the Adventure does great in snow and ice, even with the cheap Tiger Paw tires on mine
