  • The South Jersey Area Wind Ensemble under the baton of Guest Conductor, Ed Lisk, plays Gustav Holst's Second Suite for Military Band. These are the last two movements, Song of the Blacksmith and Fantasia on the Dargason.

    I like the use of brake drums for the anvil sound.

    I remember playing this in band in high school. Our guy on the anvil was not nearly as enthusiastic. :/

    Great blend of woodwind and horn on Song of the Blacksmith. However, you covered up the Euphonium solo at 2:16. otherwise, great job!

    Why is there a left-handed tuba?!

      His right hand is on the valves. His left might be in that position to pull dynamic tuning slides. Some tubists do that if the horn is capable.

      That's a brass band tuba. For whatever reason they are played in a lefthanded fashion.
