  • In this live stream I will be going over the whole process of turning a old PC into a home server along with any of the possible issues I run into along the way.

    nice big case. I have a 90s Antec Tower, 4 CD Bays (5.25) and 6 HDD Bays, diskette bay, It was my first build originally Core 2 Duo 1.83ghz, then went to 2500k. 2500k lasted me a loooonnngggg time.

    wow, a Dell thats newer than my 6 I already have. on one of mine I run backup kia dhcp, and bind 9 dns, on Debian 12, !! the main machine is a poweredge server, with the Dell you get the orange led of death, ( on the m board) if I remember correctly, the PSU button is for the self test, the others I have all run Arch or Debian, with BSPWM, or one of the other window managers, on one machine I have 5 window manager at the same time, (boot into sepererate systems) xinit, well done thanks for the video..

    9:27 Oh my, that Lite-on DVD drive is around 20 years old by now. :) Remember bumped into them around that time and before. If still opens with one touch and reads fine, then it's still fine. :)

    Until last year I was using a core2duo for my pfsense box here in Brasil
