My kids stopped caring about perfect attendance when their school principal concluded that perfect attendance would no longer be recognized.. Principal said that spending time with family is more important than attending school.

Unless her immune system is perfect, this story tells me that she's placed bragging rights above the safety of others when feeling under the weather. I would hire a problem solver, not a merit badge chaser.

That is an achievement worthy of praise, and you
indeed climbed the highest mountain not many have accomplished. Way to go girl.

what a forced and fake smile, holding backer her true emotions: "my parents are narcassitic sociopaths and they made me do this for no good reason"

this isn't news and her family is clearly abusive. poor woman.

Good for her. My guess is, she had a very strong support system in place helping her reach her goals. I do hope she didn't attend school while sick (thereby passing illness to others); otherwise, very impressive. I don't think her parents forced this upon her...her mother said she loves to learn - so, it sounds like Lindsey put herself in a place she loved. :)
