    Why didn't I find this video sooner! It showed me the way. Sure enough, when I finally got the top off my 3 way valve, the actuator now "rusted" to the valve shaft, I noticed my fingers were wet! Much cheaper fix than the new boiler my friendly local Gasman recommended. Another great RUclips contribution to my diminishing pension fund.

    Great video as always mate, I snapped the right hand hall effect sensor off on one of these the other day, it was a nightmare to get out the housing

      I’ve done that too 🤣🤣 had to replace the full rhb 😭Appreciate the support as always matey

    Perfectly done there, nice video. On the earliest duotecs to replace the diverter if its seized up you have to replace the whole flow block which is a pain. If its just leaking you can replace just the top part of the valve.

    • @Heatking
      @Heatking  Год назад

      Thanks for that Martin! Appreciate the advice too!

      Surely if it's leaking the valve must be replaced? The top is just electrics to drive the motor which fixes to the valve shaft where the leak is!

    You got so lucky with that cartridge 😂 can be a mare gettin the broken debris out 😡..even worse if kitchen fitters built upto the base of the iso’s so can’t remove

    • @Heatking
      @Heatking  Год назад +1

      Yeh you’re right mate. I find if you remove the iso connection first they don’t seem to break inside as much. But still down to luck 🤣

    These cartridges are common on these but not the worst thing to change and a cheap fix. I've fit 100's of duo's and before that the potterton gold and i still think to this day they are one of the best value for money boilers that's why they have been in production for so long.
    Not a bad boiler to work on if any repairs are needed either in my opinion

    • @Heatking

      I stand with you on that mate. Just their size and noise let them down!

    • @052ric4
      @052ric4 Год назад +1

      The sjze is an issue sometimes when trying to get the in a kitchen cupboard i agree with that. But it makes for easier servicing and repairs with room to work. The noise has never put me off though tbh i can hear my duo ticking over under the stairs now😂😂

      Yea the main eco's aren't bad i was put off at first as they look exactly the same as the baxi neta-tec and everyone knows what a pile they were. But touch wood i have used quite a few eco's and no issues. Before these used to fit loads of the eco-elite 25's and 30's they are pretty bullet proof aswell. Good all rounders baxi's in my opinion easy install, easy to work on and middle of road on price
