Just caught up with your reactions. Been enjoying it! Looking forward to more. As for your question about the kobolds, there is an interesting split in design that happed in the west and the east when it came to that monster. Where the west leaned more into the dragon/lizard look, in the east they took more of a dog look due to early translations of the monster manuals discribing them as "dog faced". Same monster orgins, but a design brach that became its own thing in different cultures.
That's cool to learn about! I like the regional/cultural differences affecting their designs. This one especially is really cute because I love dogs but like the Basilisk from before, someone mentioned that it seems to be more in line with a Cockatrice. I've really liked this show using different monster designs, especially for well known monsters like these even if they aren't 1 to 1 with other popular design choices.
