Three eras are combined to make my final collection, the fantasy and pageantry of Royalty in 18th century France mixed with the rougher edged rebellious punk fashions of the 70's with my own personal style from today.
I was inspired by the decadence of Marie Antoinette but with the punk influences of Sophia Coppola's vision. They are recreations of the costumes of the time, featuring lots of bows and ruffles, but with my own modern take. It's not just the outfits they wore that inspired me but the way they also translated their own style to the rooms inside The Palace at Versailles, the over the top décor of the rooms covered wall to wall in prints and decoration. It's almost like a fantasy, like the fantasy world Marie Antoinette lived in.
