Mój brat mówi, że to jedna z najlepszych (jeśli nie najlepsza) piosenka jaka kiedykolwiek powstała. Ma wszystko: tekst, rytm, melodię, muzykę i genialnego wykonawcę!!! Popieram:)
This video marked the beginning of my love for this great band, on a time when my country was bleeding from frequent terrorist attacks, a wounded country where racism and inequality are unfortunately part of our history and our everyday lives....now several years after, I saw them last night in Lima Peru, my country, with a message of freedom and hope...thank you, REM, for coming here. Thank you for being...
This song came out when I was twelve years old, and I saw the video on MTV in 1991. Fell in love with the song instantly and it's been one of my all-time favorites ever since. I don't think I will ever get sick of it.
This song brings back so many memories! haha I remember singing along to this song with my dad...haha I havent heard this song in so long I'm glad they posted it....SO MANY HAPPY MEMORIES
This song is thought-provoking, and reaches in the deepest recesses of the soul of a person who is at grips of what he or she wants to believe and hang on to that is dear, precious and even sacred to them. The madness and insanity in this days and times in which we live tests our faiths to the hilt. Shall we hang on, or let go? Shall we be devout, or betray? Shall we be steadfast, or be influenced? Tempted? Confused? Maimed in spirit? We all must rely on each other, just HOLD ON. ALWAYS. HOLD ON!
Michael Stipe says on BBC2 radio that The title is a slang term in the south for 'being at the end of your tether'. He says the songs actual meaning is that it's about something happening to you that is so powerful it can chalenge your spiritual conviction. He also says it has little if anything to do with religion. I guess that's why so many people can make a connection with it, because things can happen in all our lives, things so powerful that they can challenge our spiritual conviction.
it is a love song. it's about having a crush on someone, trying to find the words to tell them "choosing my confessions" He tries dropping hints "i havent said enough" but then worries that his hint was too big "i've said too much" and the person responded in a way that confused him "i thought i heard you laughing/sing/try" etc. Thats how Michael Stipe wrote it, but thats just his intepretation. keep you're own if you like it.
Religion should be a personal decision. In a lot of cases its not. Faith however is a personal decision no one can force upon you. I spent many years searching for what made me happy and complete. I came to my conclusion. It will come to anyone who asks the right questions.
I would ahve to agree with you you explained my thoughts almost word for word ^_^ It is a beautiful song all of REMs songs are wonderful so much meaning.
I heard this song a couple months ago and remembered hearing it when I was little, I just forgot about it. I have no clue what it's suppose to mean, but I love it. :)

Study any religion you wish too. But do it for yourself and not for anyone else. Religion is something from the heart and not just from a book.
