Hi Russ, the unit lets you know when the batteries are running low but if they do completely run out, there is an emergency battery connector at the bottom which you simply connect a 9v battery to and it'll power up the lock so you can enter your PIN. Your PIN remains in the unit even if the batteries die. Hope that helps!
does the yale lock not come with key overide if battery is dead
I want this but i also have a mortice lock on my door that i dont want to leave unlocked is ther a set for doors with mortice and latch locks
Hi there, we suggest that you try pushing the button down. If this doesn't throw the latch, it may be faulty and we would advise you to return it to the place of purchase. Kind Regards.
Just come home from doing some shopping , once again the Yale keyless lock did not work , entered my house via the rear door ( WITH MY KEYS ) once in side i opened front door to try the lock ,, it worked perfectly ,, I have now install a new pin number and will persevere with the lock for another two weeks , if troubles persist then i will contact customer services
Fantastic stuff - although what happens if the batteries run out when you're not in? How would you get back in?

BOUGHT THIS YALE DIGITAL LOCK AND FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS STEP BY STEP ,EVEN HAD THIS VIDIO ON AT SAME TIME ,, NO WAY COULD I GET IT TO WORK ,TOOK IT BACK GOT ANOTHER ONE ,,, STILL COULD NOT GET IT TO WORK ,,ABOUT READY TO GIVE UP ON IT NOW
any chance of rfid or zwave like the L1 for older doors like this type ?
The latch that fits into the door staple doesn't come out. When i bought it it was still inside instead stuck out like in the video. Do i have to open it up and mess with the mechanism or somehow get a refund even though it's all out of the packaging?
Hi Yale, I am interested in Yale Samrt locks. I was looking at the Linus Smart Lock for the porch door, (external), and unsure what to have for the internal door, (Porch to house), I will have a Googlu hub and assistant and a nest doorbell, so want it to be as smart as possible, any suggestions please?

I advise anyone fitting the yale keyless digital lock to have a secondary way of entering their property ,,, unless you don't mind waiting on the door step until it decide to let you in
Sounds good, but all it needs is some one with a long range focus camera and it is all over
Could someone explain to me why this wouldnt work with a 40mm night latch?
I would also like to know the answer to this, there seems no reason apart from the fact the keypad might be close to the edge of the door

I saw a video showing how to open the Yale electronic deadbolt with a paperclip is this why the key has been removed from this lock?
All locks with keyholes can be picked. Without a hole locks are more secure.

@BMAC VAGS I was thinking the exact same thing. Perhaps better suited to flats that are inside pas the main door, but then what's the point? As you'd need a key to get in. This could be so easy for someone to spy to gain code. I'd have an alarm behind this piece of kit.
You can enter a series of random fake numbers preceding the unlock code if you suspect someone is watching. That feature is built in.
If they enter the same numbers then what is the point?
Can I install this on a bedroom door that currently has no lock, or would I need to purchase a night latch aswel?

I read on an Amazon review that it comes with a night latch in the box.
I ordered the connect ready from Yale and it did't come with a night latch, had to order one separately :@ but thanks anyway

Will the key free fit other than Yale locks? We have 2 UPvc doors with Saracen 3 Hook 2 Roller lock set and 240mm (92PZ) handles which we want to replace
Hi Mark. The Keyfree Connected is a professionally installed product, as part of the installation service our engineer will assess the compatibility of the multipoint lock, and replace it if required.
so how much do your engineers charge to fit a lock? I have fitted a number of Lockwood and similar units, so see no reason this should be a problem for an experienced person
Sorry to say this but the Yale keyless digital lock letme down again today ,,paying this amount of money for a lock you would expect it to be reliable .. I have just tried the door again and it worked perfectly , but it don't give me a lot of confidence in the product .. I have taken precautionary action just in case it happens again ,, ( KEYLESS ) Don't think so. 4/11/13
But I will still need keys for my downstairs flat door..
+robert kingston If you buy another one for downstairs and get your landlord to install it and give the patrons the code then no. It's not a magic lock if that's what you mean.
Angry customer down and comments freaking out. Relax dude. In the comments I see Yale asked you for your contact details. You said you'd persevere for two weeks before contacting them. Why? Did you ever think you might have made a mistake? My guess would be you cut the connecting bar too short.

Just kick the door off its hinges to get in don't take the batteries out straight away the police are too busy fighting crime and they will blame you for losing your keys
