I'm following you from New Caledonia, and watching your videos made me take some great decisions for myself. I want to improve myself because of you and Daniel Mann. Thanks man!

What a lot, I’d even say Most people don’t understand the solace found for men in the ocean or for me hunting in the middle of nowhere. Doesn’t matter what life throws at you, when your in hunt mode it clears your head and reminds you how small you are and some of life’s issues aren’t really that big a deal. All the best to you and your family brother as empty as that is coming from someone on the internet.

Epicc!! Tim is easier for you to answer this question than me trying to get the info. I live in Indonesia and I do Spearfishing just for fun, but there’s so few rules here that many other spearpeople shoot anything. Can you help with a small guideline about what reef fish to shoot and not to shoot, or when to shoot them and not to shoot them ? 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Here in Australia we have laws about what you can/can't take, minimum size and how many of a certain fish you can take. I know you said you don't have many rules but the rules are set to not over fish any species so I guess you should try follow the same. I.e. only take larger fish of a species that have had a chance to breed, not juveniles. Don't take too many of a single species. Only shoot something you're going to use/eat, not more than you need. Hopefully this would help as a starting point. Good to see you thinking about this stuff even without it being enforced over there. Hopefully tim/others can also add their thoughts too.

Hey Tim. Truely sorry to hear about your mom 😢
Your videos are epic!
What equipment is that holds your guns on the side of the ski?
Cheers mate
The gun rack doesn’t get made anymore unfortunately
The guys stopped producing them
Just give me one day like that where fish swim in front. Some great spots, awesome fish.
Yeah some epic fish!!
Too good!! Do you only make one or two dives per spot? Is it better to move frequently so the fish don’t get too hip to the hunt?
It all depends on the spot, what fish are around and if it’s a small spot.
Tim, huge fan here from Florida. Do you ever bleed or gut your fish before tossing them in the box? Just curious, love your channel!
Glad you love the channel mate!
I ikijimi everything and bleed, but I only gut cod and parrots. Florida looks like it has some great diving!
my condolences for ur mom
Thanks mate!
Hi Tim. Great vid mate. I’ve just bought a ski and was wondering what type of gun rack you have and where to get them.
Hey mate they don’t actually make them anymore
100kg of fish on the ski is pretty good effort haha
😂🤣😂🤣
Definitely feel it when loaded up!
Hi Tim, awesome catch and setup. Do you drift or anchor the Ski. Is it connected to your gun with a float rope? Love to know the setup.
In this setting I’m diving on pretty small areas. I anchour and run 50 meters of rope out the back to pull my self back to the ski.
Anchoring the ski in right spot is the most important thing
are golden trevally not very sought after in AU? mediocre taste? they're hugely prized here in hawaii
Hey mate, they actually are a good eating fish, make great curry, not a very prized fish in Aussie though
how do you keep the seadoo still? its a bit deep to anchor
Definitely anchored, ski is really easy to get anchored it the right spot
Are you attached to the boat somehow when you're solo diving?
Hey mate
I run a line out the back which I hold onto whilst breathing up. But not when I dive.
What is the catchbag you are using?
That is a DiveR fish bag, you can get them from DiveR Australia
Hi Tim, did you ever dive with a guy named Wayne Worrell around the tweed area ?
Yes many years ago when I first started spearfishing
@@Spearfishing-Downunder wow mate thats cool he is my step father , i grew up fishing and diving with him untill i left home. he passed away in 2019 and iv recently started to spear again im 41 now. love your videos.
Are diamond trevali and África pampano the same fish or different species
I’m not 100% sure on that, Aus has the 2 similar species, diamond trevally and pennant fish.
I've been debating on buying a ski!
Cool devices!
How deep is the water here? Is it a challenge to get it to anchor
I bought a ski for spearing and live in the same area as Tim Anchoring for me is a nightmare and spearing alone is so gnarly. Tim is truly superhuman and makes it look easy. Glad these exceptional humans are out there. I'm yet to take a relaxed breath while trying to spear on my ski
How did you get all that fish in that bag ? 😅
I actually had a couple bags, one either side. I moved fish around a little bit
I wish that was florida
Hopefully one day I make it to Florida
You not worried about blacking out alone?
Yeah definitely need to make sure you dive within your limits, but diving with buddies is dangerous in strong currents need same safety mindest
