Considering the earth has existed just over 4 billion years, I find the optimism of the human species existing 5 billion years from now just a little unrealistic.
In all relative sense of time I don't think this can remotely effect any living creature in a way they can feel or know individually But the idea of your local star cluster being yeeted off into deep space amidst this "collision" is a horrifying concept to me

The crazy thing is that it won't take THAT long. For every inch of movement toward the galaxies in question, the speed at which they will collide increases exponentially. When there are super massive gravity wells, such as galaxies, the rate at which they are attracted to each other is only inhibited by the next closest galaxy, depending on it's position. It is just as likely that, with how galaxies work, that they will never collide, though they may get disconcertingly close, in relation to other galaxies and nebulae that are within a "push-pull" distance. It could also be that they act like electrons in an atom, never getting too close, but eventually hopping over to another system to maintain balance within that system, aka valence electrons. Too many possibilities exist for this to be a definite.
