The Only Man to End Up Before the US Supreme Court for Not Baking a Cake Tells His Story

- As the "woke" crowd has insisted everyone accept the new politically correct morality, it has sometimes run roughshod over Christians insisting they have to stick with biblical morality. Colorado baker Jack Phillips was doing that when he told two gay men he couldn't bake a cake to celebrate their same-sex marriage because his conscience wouldn't allow it.
The fight over that cake went all the way up to the U.S. Supreme Court, where Phillips won, but his legal battles are still not over. Now he has a new book out - The Cost of My Faith: How a Decision in My Cake Shop Took Me to the Supreme Court. It calls on people of faith to stand up for their beliefs, even when the government says that's a crime.
Phillips explained to CBN News in a little more depth why he couldn't design and bake a cake for two men celebrating their marriage.

And that's factss, you go through this things but trust me it gets better... I used to have really negative thoughts... When I say negative I mean real negative.. I'd be so scared. I thought something was wrong with me. It was so hard then... I thought it was gonna be that way forever...the day lost its color and I was so scared of being depressed I didn't wanna fall into depression.. I was so so scared you guys but there was this morning I woke up and it's like I was sleeping but still awake I don't know how to explain it but I wasn't asleep.. it's almost like when you are about to fall asleep but if someone calls you you'll hear and then this voice said "change the way you see things" he talked about perception and it was so clear... I woke up that morning but didn't realize till like evening and I'm like yooooo, did God speak to me and it's been that way ever since... I've heard a lot he's told me early in the morning and I just write the lessons down... It's not an audible voice but I hear it, I don't know how to explain it but it speaks to my heart, my soul... When you spend more time with God you begin to adopt God's way of thinking...He transforms your mind...you begin to think like him, which is good news because God doesn't have anxiety or depression,no no he doesn't...you begin to feel like he does, you'll be giving,loving,merciful and more compassionate. When you read the Bible,God transforms your mind..youll have more faith...the bible even says ___faith comes by the hearing of the word...That can only be done by reading God's word... Please, read your bible, don't just listen to sermons... That's not enough... You need to read the Bible yourself, at least a chapter a day or even if it's just for 30 focused minutes. Lastly, I just have to tell you, until you are born again, God ever abiding presence will never be with you. You must be born again to enjoy continuous victory. The sweetest and biggest thing to ever happen to you is to make a decision to be saved through JESUS CHRIST. He loves you with everything. If you have not made that decision. Please make that decision now and say this prayer in faith.

I'm gay, and when I read all the circus this man had to endure, I thought that the gay couple was being ridiculous. They should have just found somebody else to bake the cake. This kind of behavior is what widens the breach among people. You want respect and tolerance, then you also give respect and tolerance to others.

I've heard a lot he's told me early in the morning and I just write the lessons down... It's not an audible voice but I hear it, I don't know how to explain it but it speaks to my heart, my soul... It's like it passes a message without an audible voice but in the same time it's audible in my mind... I don't know guys but literally everything God taught me in the morning pointed to reading the Bible... Another one was "God is seeking people whose hearts are pure, God looks at the heart not your appearance" in order for my heart to be right with God it needs to be changed and transformed ... You know this poular saying "show me your friends and I'll tell you who you are" well it's the same with God....we are sad, anxious and depressed because we spend more time with the creation and not the creator. When you spend more time with God you begin to adopt God's way of thinking...He transforms your mind...you begin to think like him, which is good news because God doesn't have anxiety or depression,no no he doesn't...you begin to feel like he does, you'll be giving,loving,merciful and more compassionate. When you read the Bible,God transforms your mind..youll have more faith...the bible even says ___faith comes by the hearing of the word...That can only be done by reading God's word... Please, read your bible, don't just listen to sermons... That's not enough... You need to read the Bible yourself, at least a chapter a day or even if it's just for 30 focused minutes. Lastly, I just have to tell you, until you are born again, God ever abiding presence will never be with you. You must be born again to enjoy continuous victory. Let me give you two very simple and extreme examples to make the situation more understandable.
1) Imagine you have a barbershop. One day someone comes in with whose decisions you don't agree. Let's say he supports something like animal poaching (which is illegal, but let's just imagine it was just immoral, not forbidden). No, you should not forbid him service - he's a customer, that would be discrimination. Also, a haircut or shave has nothing to do with what he does in his free time - it will not change anything.
2) Now imagine you own a gun store and the same man comes in. Do you sell him a gun knowing what it will be used for? I would not.
Now, I'm not comparing animal poaching and gay marriage, I was just looking for a life choice that you could be against. You should have the right to deny someone service if said service is used in the process of the very thing you don't agree with. That's your right as a free business person.

God loves you with everything and that depression, anxiety, trauma, pain... It's all gonna work for your good.. in the Bible Jesus said, you may not see it now but someday you will... And that's factss, you go through this things but trust me it gets better... I used to have really negative thoughts... When I say negative I mean real negative.. I'd be so scared. I thought something was wrong with me. It was so hard then... I thought it was gonna be that way forever...the day lost its color and I was so scared of being depressed I didn't wanna fall into depression.. Hey, just in case anyone sees this. I don't know what you are going through, fear, anxiety, trauma, depression, a mental illness, physical pain, incurable disease... I just wanna say. God loves you and God heals... He is a very mighty God and he heals... Sometimes he allows us to go through this things so we can grow. It's tough, yes but don't give up... The Bible says in rom 8:28 that all things work together for good to those who love God.... So if you love the Almighty God then what are you so afraid of... God loves you with everything and that depression, anxiety, trauma, pain... It's all gonna work for your good.. in the Bible Jesus said, you may not see it now but someday you will... And that's factss, you go through this things but trust me it gets better... I used to have really negative thoughts... When I say negative I mean real negative.. I'd be so scared. I thought something was wrong with me. It was so hard then... I thought it was gonna be that way forever...the day lost its color and I was so scared of being depressed I didn't wanna fall into depression.. I was so so scared you guys but there was this morning I woke up and it's like I was sleeping but still awake I don't know how to explain it but I wasn't asleep.. it's almost like when you are about to fall asleep but if someone calls you you'll hear and then this voice said "change the way you see things" he talked about perception and it was so clear... I woke up that morning but didn't realize till like evening and I'm like yooooo, did God speak to me and it's been that way ever since... I've heard a lot he's told me early in the morning and I just write the lessons down... It's not an audible voice but I hear it, I don't know how to explain it but it speaks to my heart, my soul... It's like it passes a message without an audible voice but in the same time it's audible in my mind... I don't know guys but literally everything God taught me in the morning pointed to reading the Bible... Another one was "God is seeking people whose hearts are pure, God looks at the heart not your appearance" in order for my heart to be right with God it needs to be changed and transformed ... You know this poular saying "show me your friends and I'll tell you who you are" well it's the same with God....we are sad, anxious and depressed because we spend more time with the creation and not the creator. When you spend more time with God you begin to adopt God's way of thinking...He transforms your mind...you begin to think like him, which is good news because God doesn't have anxiety or depression,no no he doesn't...you begin to feel like he does, you'll be giving,loving,merciful and more compassionate. When you read the Bible,God transforms your mind..youll have more faith...the bible even says ___faith comes by the hearing of the word...That can only be done by reading God's word... Please, read your bible, don't just listen to sermons... That's not enough... You need to read the Bible yourself, at least a chapter a day or even if it's just for 30 focused minutes. Lastly, I just have to tell you, until you are born again, God ever abiding presence will never be with you. You must be born again to enjoy continuous victory. The sweetest and biggest thing to ever happen to you is to make a decision to be saved through JESUS CHRIST. He loves you with everything. If you have not made that decision. Please make that decision now and say this prayer in faith.
"Lord Jesus, please come into my life. I accept You as my Lord and Personal Saviour. Please, forgive me for my sins and have mercy on me, thank you for dying for me on the cross, thank you for saving me please take me as your son / daughter and be my father. THANK YOU my heavenly Dad, in JESUS CHRIST NAME I PRAY, AMEN."

God requires no compromise. God bless you for paving the way for the rest of the Christians . You have shown what true Christianity is and those that call themselves that need to understand what that truly means. Count the cost before you give yourself that label because hypocrisy runs deep in this country and gives our God a bad name.

I was so upset when I heard this. I am a lesbian and I would specifically seek out someone who supported the lgbt community to make my cake. Why would I force someone to make my cake? Other religions have their reasons for not doing things. Simply take your business elsewhere instead of ruining this man's livelihood

Who do those people think they are to tell him he has to bake their cake or he can't bake wedding cakes anymore? They can not tell him what he can and can't bake!
Just because they don't believe in God, or want to adhere to God's word, does not give them the right to force others to adhere to what they think.
God's word clearly says we must love and obey his word and not follow man. Especially if it goes against God.
The gay couple could have just gone to many other bakery's that will do anything for a buck.
But no, they wanted to force this guy to comply with their demands to bake their cake.
It's not discrimination, I have family members who are gay, I love them and pray for their salvation, but I did not go to their gay wedding, nor go to gay pride parades. You can love someone but not the sin.
They love to say God is Love and loves everyone, this is true, that's why he sent Jesus, but God hates sin, when you turn from sin and stop living in it, and live for him, and receive Jesus as your Savior you are forgiven, pardoned,
God says no foul or unclean person shall enter into his kingdom, Jesus loves sinners and spent time with them, and always told them to go and sin no more.
He did not hand out free passes to continue living in their sin.
That is stepping on the throne of Grace, A parent who loves their child discipline's their child and teaches them right from wrong,
God does the same, Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed because they refused to repent and stop sinning,
Jesus would not be sitting at gay pride parades waving a rainbow flag, he would love them enough to tell them the truth to save them. Rainbow belongs to God it protrudes from his thrown, and is his promise to never flood the earth again. People have free will, they can choose how they want to live, but so can we, and if we choose to live for God, don't try and force us to comply with your lifestyle, if you can choose to not comply with God's word, that's your choice, but don't demand we comply to to your lifestyle. We don't demand you to go to church and repent, that has to be your conviction in your heart. You know where God stands on these matters. Plenty of info and people all over teaching his word on the internet and streets, ECT. So the truth is out there. If you choose to live the way you live that's your free will.
Don't try and take our free will to Honor God away from us.
If there was a gay bakery that refused to bake a cake for a Christian heterosexual wedding,
I guarantee you, they would just go somewhere else and not go to a lawyer or the news.
But then again they probably would not go inside and deliberately try and force them to bake one. I know this is long, but I'm tired of others Using God's love as an excuse to go against his word. God's wrath is coming and Revelations is unfolding before our eyes not just on this issue either, but all the signs are here.
Jesus warned us what to look for.
If you don't see them, it's because you have hardened your heart and turned away from God.
Jesus is returning very soon we know not the day or hour, it's time to get right with him or get left behind.

If those two men had another bakery to buy a cake from, they had no business sueing this business owner. They had other optionsto get a cake but----they chose to file suit. This is so disgusting in its passive aggressive attack on individual liberty.

The essential of all this is do we have a right to our own thoughts and mind or does the government have the power to dictate to us what we can believe in, can think and if we do not agree we are punished? Why can they not go to another baker? Do people have to be forced to forsake their God, lose their right to religious freedom because other people want to bully them into submission and won't go to other bakers who will gladly do it for them? I know many homosexuals and they bake really good I would say better than most, even for fashion and decorations, they are really gifted so why force someone to surrender their religious freedom to be submissive to them simply because they refuse to go elsewhere? Is this about democracy and freedoms or is this about dictating what the accepted ideology is and punishing all who disagree?

He doesn't have to bake the cake if he's uncomfortable with it. The couple can go to another bakery. His allegiance is to God not to man, if he feels making certain cakes go against his beliefs then he has the right to refuse😊

I admire this man for standing up for what he believes. We all have to coexist together but we don't have to have the same beliefs system. We are not robots and therefore should not be forced to think like everyone else.
