Welcome Jacky, this is an vide from last year. I found an AI which can generate subtitle, so I upload this video with subtitle, and the timing is also suitable.
Good Morning莊教授, Would you please share your views on what DSE students should watch out for when making their choice of University Programmes through JUPAS. (e.g. the chance of admission if a student put BandA progamme using the lower quartile mark of last year)
I am not totally sure what you mean. In general, choosing a major is very important for a student. 3 factors should be considered, first, your academic result, second, your interest in this subject, third, the salary of graduates of this program. The stratgey priority should be according to the order above. You may refer to some of my previous videos on how to perform well in interviews. Think about possible questions to be asked, dont just say you want to work in finance industry, you have to tell the interviwers your dream and what do you think is the meaning of life. We dont lack hard working students, we dont lack smart students, but not too many students know what they are actually doing in their life. Most of them just follow what others do.
Thank you again for sharing your views. You have pointed out one very important point which I would like you to elaborate more if possible. That is : how to find out if a student has interest in the subject. I am facing a limited no of choices (3-4) according to my grades/marks. How do a student match one's interest with the program ? It is just hard to know if one is interested without experiencing it.
@@awaw20062006 some people like maths, some people like economics, you will know if you have passion on a subject, just ask one question to yourself, will I give up something, such as academic result, time, money or other thing, in order to learn more about this thing. That is your interest. There are some subjects in university that are not high school subjects, such as medicine, engineering, nowadays, one may search for the contents, material of a subject easily, so one may not need to study it before he knows if he is interested in it.
Thank you for your reply. Does it mean that for the same subject in the same university, students this years need to have better results to be admitted.
莊教授, 謝謝分享🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Points noted. Thank you very much for your advise.
Hi professor, 請問今年考生的成績係咪普遍升咗? 揀大學科目如果reference舊年收生嘅medium point今年係咪要高啲 ? Please advise. Many thanks.
This year results seems better, more DSE and IB狀元, the medium points should also rise

@@awaw20062006 i dont think it is statistically significant for the general case, should be more or less the same
