So, we saved up $10,000 and decided we'd give it to someone that would quit their job and pursue their passion. We ended up finding Matthew and Jenny and what ended up happening blew our minds. Most likely nothing or circumstances are worse than they were.
10,000$ is not a lot of money and nowhere near worth quitting a job over (even a shitty low-paying job can produce 3x that annually). It's not even enough to cover a year's tuition in most places or to do anything related to a startup. People who are in bad economic situations are typically there because of bad financial practices, dumping money on them doesn't solve the problem (it can certainly help people who are actually smart with their money, but often doesn't). This is why the bulk of people who win the lottery typically end up broke in a few years or not much better off.

@@camiscrazy0883 10k to live off for five months is great if you have low overhead, next to no additional expenses, and live in an area with fair housing prices. In most city interiors, 60-80% of that "10k over five months" is your rent.

UPDATE:
According to their instagrams they made it to Bali! They’ve become vegans and from what I can tell it looks like they were working on trying to stay in Bali. They haven’t updated in a while but it looks like they’ve traveled to some other dope places along the way! There’s also a link in his bio for a book so it looks like he finished it !

Well, I did this 3 months ago, I quit my job as a programmer to be history student. When I did it, I was at the dark, I really don't know whats was gonna happen to me, I didn't have money to pay the university, to live, but I said to me "I can do it, i don't know now how, but I will do it. I deserve do what I really love". Now, 3 months after, fantastic things happened to me, things I had never imagined, research project, professors support. Money is a problem (I'm studying to be a teacher, and where I live, Brazil, the governament pay nothing to us, public schools...), but I will do it, I don't how, but I will, because I just love

Go to india, it's like 100$/year for our university college ,Just finished graduation and waiting for certificates. I really don't know why developed nations charge so much for education.

I just came home from a crappy shift at my job that I've been working at for 6 years and I realized I don't want to do that anymore. I don't want to feel disappointed in my life anymore whenever I go into my job. I think its time to put in my two weeks and start living my own life. Thank you Yes Theory. I mean, that's not really the point of the video. The point is you should believe in yourself and your dreams enough to take the chance when a situation like this comes around. It is not about seeking more, but taking advantage of opportunities as they come.
Well for someone working at Mcdonalds or a coffee shop, it would take half a year to make $10k. So for someone making minimum wage it would be a life changer.

Its Actually the university I applied for (my dream school) that I was accepted to, but was unable to attend due to financial reasons. I stress every time I think about the future, I think too much. But ever since I started watching these videos my mind has found more peace within itself. My family and I have been going through a rough time, so with these videos, the energy you guys produce, the amount of happiness, and positivity, and to make challenges as an opportunity to overcome them, instead of running away from them. To all of you saying 10k is not enough - I live in Croatia and I earn that amount in 15 months of working my full-time job. Mr. beast may offer more but he only gives it out to college students or his friends. Yes Theory is open to a wide variety of people not just college students and friends. I get that college students need the money but other people are also struggling which is why Yes Theory is so great.

A few months before my father passed away, he saw me struggling with depression. never said a word to my family about it in fears of letting them down. Almost out of the blue, he came into my room and said "God gives the hardest battles to his strongest warriors." Im not religious and I was annoyed with him at the time, thinking it was religious mumbo jumbo but after my suicide attempt, a little under a year after he passed, I understood.
Whatever it is you're struggling, you're meant to struggle with it. Even to this day I continue to struggle, but im okay with it. Don't let the struggle beat you, youre a fucking warrior.

I start my days watching at least 1 Yes Theory video. I find that the message that you guys share is the most beautiful thing out there. In a world where things can get challenging and hard, it is refreshing and inspiring to listen to you guys and to see the impact you have on people with the gesture you do (big or small). I especially find it refreshing to start a day listening to your beautiful message and cry each morning by how touching it is lol. I also constantly bombard my friends with your videos. Yes i am starting a cult lol.

Thank you for another inspiring video!I never tried a 9-5 but I know it would never be for me so I started my own business. Yes, it's me again! I'm the girl with a cookie shop in my college town. When I started it, I was living in my car with very little direction, just a huge passion to be successful. I just graduated college as well. I started the late night cookie shop out of a local bagel shop in their off hours at night. I was living in my car in the parking lot of the shop at the time with my boyfriend, Bran. It was a crazy experience but it worked! We became a success! And how we have our first storefront location (a second launching in January!) We started it to fund a year long backpacking trip around the world and to be successful while living the life of our dreams.

Thanks for sharing, some people may think it's bragging but for me this made me re-affirm the time I have left at home (with my parents) why not use this time and freedom to do what i want to do in life e.g. work on my passion's #Music and #business. quitting your jobs is getting harder when you have a career and you earn more than $10,000.
Sure, but if you really want to pursue a passion, you could go back to living with a budget like a student and save up for 6 to 12 months of basic living expenses or similar, and then quitting by then.

Hi Yes Theory! It's just been a few days since I started watching your videos and I was compelled to assess myself and ask what is really my passion, what goals do I want to achieve and what steps do I need to undertake to achieve them. After watching a video of yours, that one where you asked a person what they would do if they only had 24 hours to live and on the last part of the video, you asked the viewers to write what they would do in 24 hours before they die. I actually stopped to think and wrote it in my journal, shared the video with my best friend, and asked her to do the same. We shared each others' ideas of what a day would look like if it's our last day on Earth. It was fun and I got to know more about her. Living in an unimportant town in the Philippines is what kept me from reaching my dreams as early as I would want it but it doesn't stop me from dreaming and doing things that will lead me there. I just realized that if I don't have the privileges other people have, I have to make them and that's the hardest part. Also, finding supportive people and surrounding yourself with them is hard but after watching a lot of your videos, I was convinced that nothing is really impossible if you believe. You can also achieve whatever you want if you do it with other people because everyone needs everyone. No man is an island as the saying goes. I am really inspired by your videos. It may look really easy and extravagant because you guys have all the resources you need but it's not really about that. Everything starts from the drive and the will to make things a reality and that's what I learned in your videos. I just also want to add, after watching your videos about the least visited countries, I might need to change my travel itinerary plan in the future. I want to go to Tuvalu soon. I haven't traveled in my life but I know it's not far from happening. Thank you guys so much. You have truly inspired me. I don't usually comment on RUclips and tell creators what I think of their contents. This is a rare event where I open myself to the public. I don't often do this but you guys made me and that says something about how you impact people with your videos. I hope I get the chance to see you. The odds might be a million to one but you taught me that things are not impossible if you believe so I'm not worried in the slightest. KUDOS to the team and I'll be watching more videos while in quarantine season and looking forward to more inspiring contents in the future. Peace!

Lou Ya because as said in the video, their side job are just there to support them in able to pursue their passion. If you’re given a headstart of 10000, you wouldn’t need to have the side job and go directly in pursuing your passion.

Thats for they states. They are moving out of the country. Where they are going is a whole lot cheaper than American living. 10k will take you a long way.

This channel gives me so much inspiration to do the things I love the most. Even though I am only a teen I want to go out into the world and make a huge difference, I want to make people happy and inspire others through a passion that I love, music. I've been practicing guitar for a year or so hoping one day I can make songs for an entire lovely fandom. And I will make it happen, won't give up, I won't think that I am not able to, just because of these inspiring videos like this.
