Desautels Speaker Series on Business and Human Rights: Dr. Sara L. Seck

For the inaugural lecture of the Desautels Speaker Series on Business and Human Rights, the Faculty of Law, University of Manitoba, welcomed Dr. Sara L. Seck, Chair in Human Rights Law, Schulich School of Law and Director of the Marine and Environmental Law Institute at Dalhousie University in Halifax, NS.
The Lecture took place Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at Robson Hall, University of Manitoba Fort Garry Campus.
Talk Title: "Reflections on the Past, Present, and Future of Business and Human Rights in Canada."
Summary: Professor Seck discussed the history, current state, and future of Business and Human Rights in Canada including its relevance to the UN Declaration on the RIghts of Indigenous Peoples and the 2022 UN General Assembly resolution on the right to a clean, healthy and sustainable environment.
