Jack Pearson is the best slide player in Nashville most have never heard of.
100%
BINGO...possibly the "best" guitariat, period. Lot's of subjectivity to any "measure" of players though.
Exactly right. ALL these other guys, good in their own right, can’t carry Jack’s case.
@@mikebossner6404Much less lift one of those "used" 100 buck Squiers' he picked up at some random pawn shop.
Some people don't know what they don't know. Jack is the man.
between this amazing player and Mr.Trucks they have it all
The rather large group in between here is amazing. They don't this place guitar town for nothing!
I love Jack, but this is the new generation doin it! We gotta throw our support behind guys like this!!
I think Jack would want to support all players of every skill level. This young man is great and Jack can speak for himself but I've heard he's had some health issues. Prayers for him , I'm not the most up to date person on the web so maybe he's fine
Great slide playing, great tone. I love what he does with the volume pedal, reminiscent of Jeff Beck. Kudos to the whole band because the front man is only as good as those who play with him.
I'll be in Nashville in the summer. All i want to do is listen to Live music. I can't wait.
Gotta say I have so much admiration for someone that can just jam.
Saw Mike live about a year ago and was brought to tears , Dudes a killer player.
Definitely brings his thang to the music. I dig his vibe.
Wow. Such control and precision with the slide. This was a treat. Enjoyed every second.
Agreed. It's Jack!!! No doubt.
❤Awesome - virtuosic playing.
I've heard of jack Pearson, so him in Jacksonville several times with Greg Allman and the Allman brothers, he's great especially slide. Fla theater,,!
Soulful! Great job.
Absolutely fantastic playing!!
Ripping ! Dripping with beauty great builds and crescendos with the band - great support and terrific use of silence and that incredible slide guitar Mike wow 💥💥🎸😱🎼👏👏👏👏⚡️🙏🌏✌️
Outstanding 💥🔥🎸
Same division as Derek Trucks and Sonny Landreth!❤
Was about to say this, also you can hear BOTH of their licks in his playing allong with Duane and Elmore. I don't hear much Lowell in there.
Heard the Trucks style immediately
I’m currently on tour with Sonny and must agree he’s great. It’s a pleasure to hear him every night.
And Skydog.. Duane Allman.. The Best🎸
@@ledaswan5990 Brooo, I have literally told him to his face he is my favorite musician to ever walk the earth. That must be surreal to experience his music every night.
got to listen to many of the Sacred Steel sliders....Sean Spearman, Calvin Cooke, Robert Randolph, Charles/Chuckie Campbell, Aubrey Gent Jr, Anthony Fox, Frank Owens, Lonnie Bennet...
What a huge privilege, quite a group of talented individuals.
i agree...i love slide!!
This guitar has me so confused in such a beautiful way, Lesmastertesico haha. The tone on it too! Dude your playing is so fluid and beautiful!
Is it a jazz master with a Les Paul neck?
@@boneytony5041 Ya, but look at the pups haha. Either way, it's great.
... try to imagine how many best players you never heard of exist. Thousands upon thousands just to begin with. Be thankful..
Very awesome! Almost harmonica tones popping there!
Nice closing riff on the drums as well. Great jam!
Incredible talent
He's right up there with Derek Trucks
Jack Pearson hands down!!!!
Thanks thumbs up
man that is some fine playing!
Brilliant🤘
Great Tone ❤
I definitely dig it !!
Nice playing
that is a BIG statement ! lots and lots of folks are good,he is one of em...big ol world to dish out that "Best" word salad !!!!
Wow! This guy is damn good. And I haven't heard of him.
Sounds like a Derek Trucks clone and that’s not a bad thing.Kudos!!!!
I love going to Nashville for music.
Jack Pearson is not just an awesome slide player. He has total control of the instrument and can play anything. On the Bonamassa blues cruise, other artists were blown away.
Lawd…. That was sweet, thanks!!!
thx for listening!
This is top playing period 🎸
Mike is a force of Nature, pure talent. New music for me, new subscriber for you. Liked and Subscribed
Welcome! All kinds of great, intimate-venue performances on the channel.
You’re right I haven’t. Thank you!!!! It’s all there. 🔥
Thx for listening!
Gods love music opens our souls to pure enjoyment of a Supreme talent
God gives us some wonderful stuff ea
Jack pearson is my fave
Jack is very good!
Cool solo
1 min in and phenomenal..
the guy's very good, but brother Jack Pearson still wears that crown.
Mike is a legend in the making. Incredible live. Just guitar and amp also y’all!!!
and volume pedal?
@@kelvinfunkner And a sublime compressor?
@@kelvinfunkner Yes.
This is the best slide guitar wake up call that I’ve heard since Bonnie and David Lindley
Man, he sounds like Jeff Beck playing slide, which is pretty rare and unique
The calm and expressionless face all the while….!
Well, he nailed it!
I think I'm in love❤
🔥
No such thing as the best, just one of the many who are good.
This style is directly coming from the Sacred Steel tradition played on lap steel in their church. Trucks as well.
truth
Well just daaannnggg!
Mike Gannon was great right out of high school. He used to come down and see me and friends play. He gave me a tape, I thought it was Jackson Browne... it was ALL HIM. He burns... I bet at one time he thought I was good.... I'm just smelling his exhaust ;-)
Dude is good.
Definitely a Derek Trucks fan
These kind of ''style'' came from the Baptist churches, from the Sacred Steel Players. The most recognized one are the Aj Ghent and Robert Randolph. The white folks just take it to mainstream.
Yet he never mentions him once, ever..
Voice sounds like Ritchie Kotzen.
Derek for sure
@@roderickbalt8993 i mean hes playing using a right-hand technique that derek invented and uses several licks from derek trucks songs including multiple phrasings from i am the moon, joyful noise, bound for glory, etc lol theres like absolutely 0 chance that hes not a huge trucks fan because nearly the entirety of his sound is based off of derek
Jack Pearson played w/The ABB from 1997 thru 1999. Look it up. :)
Definitely inspired by Derek Trucks
He’s really good…but the best…everyone plays like that here…the earlier comment on jack pearson…he’s the best Ibe ever heard…but two thumbs up to this gentleman also, he’s no slouch…
That is blues my friend
that guitar looks nuts
Kinda like Trucks, but seems a little more willing to just let it rip. I like it!
He doesn't look like Derek Trucks..but damn.. 🔥
When you sound that much like someone else, expect to get shit on. But I like it, if I could play slide like that I surely would.
agreed. he does sound a lot like you know who, but I don't have a problem with it - because he's got the FEEL. and really good sense of melody too. and there's something in his tone that's all his own.
He is really good, has his own style, and sings to boot. What’s not to like?
Sounds like a lot of Derek Trucks influence to me.
Beautiful Trucks like tone, but Dylan Adams of Jacksonville is a virtuoso who uses the slide on his pinky so he can play amazing lead licks mixed into similar beautiful slide licks in Standard tuning. Check him out.
He is very good.
Lots of references to Derek Trucks… and rightfully so.
If you want to hear a slide player with his own style and sound, check out Paul Fenton.
Rory Gallagher loved his playing.
Shout out the rest of the band.
Would love to see this guy trade licks with Trucks
he sounds like he's paid very close attention to Trucks' playing.
@@anthonypanneton923I mean… anyone playing slide these days can’t help but to pay attention to Trucks
@@zpayton Well, depends how old you are. I'm old enough to have seen the original lineup Allman Bros band (before they really got big - when they were still opening shows for other groups). I've been trying to play slide since I heard Hendrix's version of "All Along The Watchtower" in 1968. I saw B.Trucks live 20+ years ago (opening for Eric Johnson at a small club). I've been paying attention for a while. BT is darn good, but he ain't no Sonny Landreth.
Good singing
holy fucking shit
Great guitar player, but he must find his own sound.Keep it up.

Jack Pearson
This is dude is defiantly great but you need to check out Roy Rodger’s & Derrick Trucks. These two IMHO are the GOAT!
Check out this guy,Ryan Scott, great guitar player living in Nashville
Here's Ryan... ruclips.net/video/jsCeSHAFoh4/видео.html
Reminscent of Derek Trucks' "Sahib Teri Bandi." Nonetheless, Mike Gannon's soul flies free. 🔥✌❤
Lots of Derek Trucks influence, sings too.
THE SCKOOL OF TRUCKS LIVES
What guitar is that?! Love it. Amazing playing!
Custom. He built it.
E tuning?
Don't know and wondering the same
I don't think anyone knows. Must be a custom from a LUTHIER in Nashville
Yeah. Its a crazy looking guitar. Like a Jaguar with P90 pick-ups and a Les Paul neck. Very cool.
Lot of haters on here. Great performance and slide work!
ruclips.net/video/jOkcmfEq08Y/видео.html
He's upper echelon but Derek T,Landreth,Robert Randall, and AJ Ghent are it
A better story would be… why have most people never heard of so many of the best players?
That would be a mystery worth elaborating on. With the right amount of passion and dedication, a tape of Derek trucks playing slide and the right gear combo; you too can play like this.
But why are they under the radar?
Check out Dylan Adams , from Florida
First time hearing Jack and no doubt he is a stunning player but Derek T is more vocal , more emotive , could I ever get to their level ? not in a hundred years, just my preference is all.
Should get Justin Johnson up there, they could show each other some things. Never heard of this fella, really good.
That's a beautiful guitar. Can anyone enlighten me as to the make and model?
I would like to know too. Looks like a jazz master with a Les Paul neck.
ruclips.net/video/VDdoQR-1jEM/видео.htmlsi=1otEn189EiDuMUNU
He talks about it at 6:25 here.
Ya, he built it himself.
Jazzmaster body gibson headstock 🧐
There’s a Marty Music video, on RUclips, Gannon talks about it. I tried to link it but RUclips dorks deleted it.
Kirby kelly is a slide master
Very much like Derek as a teenager
Maybe when Derek was 13 😅
Any know what model of guitar that is?
Nope, and thinking the same thing. Not a Fender or Gibson must be custom made or some weird Japanese copy of something
ruclips.net/video/VDdoQR-1jEM/видео.htmlsi=1otEn189EiDuMUNU
He talks about it at 6:25 here. Jazz master with Les Paul neck
It’s a partsmaster! I can see a Gibson neck, tail piece, maybe an old Gyatone body, PAF pick ups, and some other random switches?????
dontcha just love it!
ruclips.net/video/VDdoQR-1jEM/видео.htmlsi=1otEn189EiDuMUNU
He talks about it here at 6:25
Maybe unknown. Derek Trucks is known and got BB King’s stamp of approval.
James Wiedemeier in Nashville is the GOAT!
ruclips.net/video/VDdoQR-1jEM/видео.htmlsi=1otEn189EiDuMUNU
He talks about the guitar at 6:25 here, for anyone curious. It’s a jazz master body with Les Paul neck
Boy was killin it on the solo!
Not hearing it. Gotta make that thing talk not just scream. But really good with the slide.
Anybody gonna mention Justin Jonson?
Sounds like he's spent a lot time listening to Derek Trucks
time well spent, I'd say...
So have I, but I still suck at guitar. Lol
@@robertwaller2983 as long as you're having fun and enjoy what you're doing - that's really the most important thing when it comes to playing guitar.
