    4 years ago I lost my best mate who developed tinnitus after a tyre explosion in a garage where he worked he was told by his doctor that there was no cure for tinnitus and he would have to try and live with it the word try was so complete negativity 2-months later he took his own life. I believe this was just because the doctor gave him no hope and so inconsiderate. things ought to be changed in the medical world regarding tinnitus and what I am hearing here now is bringing tears to my eyes.

    I’m skeptical about her. Anyone that doesn’t allow comments on their own videos doesn’t pass the smell test. If she were legit it seems like she would keep her comments open and interact with people. To me it just seems like she’s selling a product and doesn’t want to allow any criticism. All the other people putting videos out to help people allow comments: Liam, Julian Cowin Hill, Dr. Ben... this leaves one to research reviews on Joey and they’re not strong. If those reviews were on her videos and she took the time to interact I think the validity of what she claims would increase.

      Hey Brent, thank you for the comment. Just so you know, the youtube channel can erase any comment they don't like with no oversight. So even though disabling comments sends a message, each channel has the opportunity to delete destructive comments or comments that refute their claims.

    • @brentcjohnson

      @@treblehealth I’m aware of that but if someone is legitimately trying to help people I feel it would benefit the community to leave a forum open to discuss the subject. I find a lot of benefit in reading the comments and seeing what others have to say and contribute. To me, disabling comments just makes it look like someone is only allowing the agenda of their visor to be presented which limits the scope of benefit to what they’re attempting to present.

      @@SuperKlaatu no I’m just giving him credit for keeping comments open.

      @@brentcjohnson I wondered the same thing but then I remember how I have felt seeing the negative comments in other tinnitus videos and how detrimental it can be to see someone cutting down what could be a potential remedy for someone else. People are less likely to pursue something if people are speaking ill of it. I am all for conversation but I know there are people teetering on the edge of sanity when dealing with this condition, the last thing they'd want to see it is someone else's negativity or skepticism.

    can i ask honestly ... i bought the book Rock Steady..Joey Remenyi..and it says that tinnitus maskers are not worn..so-called tinnitus retraning therapy because that puts us in focus even more and amplifies those neurons ... and I have headphones for tinnitus retraning therapy..what to do? .

      That's a significant and potentially dangerous disagreement. Masking has been the first thing to relieve my tinnitus suffering and subsequently feel there's a path forward toward habituation and, in turn, a belief there could be a reduction in my crippling hyperacusis. I haven't watched this full video, but I would hope there's some discaimer, either in the video or before it starts or in the description. Thank you.

    Is there any scientific proof that these theories are actually true? Or any RCT has been conducted that shows that this technique is better than placebo?

    • @StarHarvestOfficial
      @StarHarvestOfficial 3 года назад

      Look up: Effect of Pain Reprocessing Therapy vs Placebo and Usual Care for Patients With Chronic Back Pain: A Randomized Clinical Trial.
      Now, that's not tinnitus, but we've known for a long time that reprocessing neuroplastic pain or body signals has good results.

    I have magnetic resonance noise tinnitus. . on the hearing test everything is ok only at 10 000hz drop to 35db. Eagle doctors played me acoustic reflexes multiple times and tympanometry. . after tympanometry, my right ear has been humming at 100hz for 2 years, and on the test the other day at 125hz I hear at 10db. What is the problem? Thanks. . .

    • @markovukasinovic8477
      @markovukasinovic8477 4 года назад

      I bought headphones with an open system as a hearing aid that produces white noise or pink..I don't know..but after wearing an watch..two..as if my humming and some tones from the acoustic reflex check intensify, which otherwise calms down a bit without headphones

    • @markovukasinovic8477
      @markovukasinovic8477 4 года назад

      I usually listen to the headset at 20-22db..something quieter than tinnitus..I don't understand why there is a consequence of tympanometry in the form of humming at 100hz and I hear a good gaj tone on audiometry at 10db 125hz. Damaged auditory nerve or everything ok?

    • @treblehealth
      @treblehealth  4 года назад

      Not sure specifically what the cause of your condition is. Potentially damaged hearing system but that is rare from tympanometry.

    Saying "Habituation is jargon".is a turn off for me. Habituation has scientific meaning , and has had so since Pavlov. The answer is in scientific data, if one can find some. It's not in a book someone is trying to sell.
