- Michelle Pfeiffer makes her first and only appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson on August 1st, 1980.
At this point, she had only been acting for a few years and the only film she did that had been released was The Hollywood Knights. Still, she seemed unfazed sitting next to Sammy Davis Jr. and Shelley Winters!
She’s so lovely. And intelligent. She wasn’t trying to be overly-impressive; she was just being her natural self.
She is one of my favorite actresses! She is kind and beautiful! Just love her

I find this interesting. Her looks, persona , and voice changed a great deal over the next decade. IMO she got prettier, more private/poised, and her voice got deeper. She is very bubbly here... I didn't know she was like that. Love that wink around 2:35

Whenever I stumble on a Johnny Carson interview He is always hella classy and Got that composure like He ain't doing all the physical comedy, Just there to have a conversation and see where it goes....... His interviews with Don Rickles is a master class for hosts who wanna deal with comics.

I’ve never seen Johnny so unabashedly smitten, and who can blame him? How could you remain unflappable sitting two feet from her? I’d make an utter, stuttering, obvious fool of myself. That sense of poise and humor and that wink on top of her looks would already destroy me, but then she’d flash that smile, and I’d be done for.

For a former smoker, her voice really didn't change all that much.
You can see now, when she interviews, she speaks a lot slower and is much more careful before she answers. Here she has that jovial innocence about her still. Amazing to watch.

Stunningly beautiful and over the years developed into one of the finest actresses in Hollywood. But it was her looks that got her in the door. Thousands of actors study their craft for years, pound the pavement trying to get an agent, go to hundreds of casting calls (cattle calls)... but they don't have the looks of Michelle or Brad Pitt. So most of them struggle in obscurity... most give up their dream.
Anyone who says Good Looks don't give you an advantage in life is fooling themselves. And not just in the movie business.
Yes there are exceptions... yes talent will keep you alive in "the Biz".. but getting that first break... there is nothing like being beautiful or having a relative in the business.
