  • I made this Simple wood burning Fire pit from scrap that I had laying around. Including an old washing machine drum, some steel pipes, and an old cast iron Grill plate.

    I used to keep plants in my washing machine tub but now I'm going to show this to my husband. I like that you have the same tools as us. Some RUclipsrs have tools that are way beyond our reach and it can put us off even trying. But this is doable. Thanks!

    I guess i am the only female here who expressess love for carpentry/metal crafting machines. Everytime i watch videos like this i feel so envious of what they use to create useful diy crafts at the comfort of their own yard. I wish (my longtime dream actually!) to have machines like that in my garage!!!!

    Made a fire pit out of washing machine drum 20 years ago. Set of legs and handles, with repurposed lawnmower wheels on on set of legs. Could move it around anytime. A lot of people mounted them right on old lawnmower bodies.
    Yours is a very elegant job.

    • @Ollaris
      @Ollaris  4 года назад +6

      I’m sure most of the people that make stuff collect tools over a long period of time. It took me a better part of my life to get everything that i have. Start of by looking for a project that uses the tools you already have. Buy a cheap 20$ angle grinder. You can also buy tools secon hand or borrow some from friends.

(e.g angle grinder sound was disguised with rock music)

    Very nice build! I;d avoid using wood handles that close to the fire chamber. That's close enough to still get too hot to grab and there is the pyrolysis factor. Pretty sure you'll come up with a forked device or a wire cage affair that'll make the rest of us enjoy the "wow, wish I'd thought of that."

    Awesome video. I've had the idea of a fire pit out of a washing machine drum circling in my head for years, great minds and all that, but you've made it much more than just a fire pit. I really like your spiderish leg design too.
    I guess I should get my ideas out of my head and into reality!

      The Narcoleptic Tinkerer, Glen from DIY Creators made a huge firepit a couple years back from a washing machine drum as well. I think he also added concrete but it was really cool.
