- Midfielder Rose Lavelle and forward Alex Morgan sparked the U.S. Women’s National Team to a dominating 8-0 win over Paraguay at TQL Stadium in the first U.S. Soccer event at the world class venue. A goal and three assists from Cincinnati-native Lavelle and a hat trick from Morgan sent the crowd of 22,515 fans home happy.

This poor Paraguay team needs a goalkeeping coach IMO
Their goalkeeper played pretty well, she just punched it away at times she didn't need to. She did get a lot of practice, and being under pressure and playing a team like the United States caused her to mess up a couple times and lose her confidence. You can't expect a perfect game from a goalkeeper each time they play, being a goalkeeper is a very stressful position, and I find it a common misunderstanding that all goalies do is sit in the goal all day, but in the end, they're the ones whose got to save your butts if your team messes up.
@@juliejones9067 I am a goalkeeper. She is diving backwards, punching at unnecessary times and when she does punch is up in the air or to a very short range. I watched the game and holding the ball was a very rare occurrence. HOWEVER some goals mostly all of them were also fuck ups from the defenders. The defenders need to track run an have better communication between each other it looks like the have never played a game together. While the GK needs lots of practice with the basics the defenders need to get their shut together too.

In all of my years watching football (soccer) I have never ever ever seen a goalkeeper as bad as Bobadilla. She couldn't stop anything. Some of the shots were really good, but there were at least 4 of the 8 goals she should have stopped.

I live a little over an hour away from Cincinnati and Columbus so when they came to the Columbus Crew stadium I was so excited to get tickets. However I found I prefer watching them from home. The seats we had you couldn't hear the announcer, plus there was a drunk guy like 2 rows behind us and all he did was cuss most of the game especially when they took Rose Labelle out, guess he went to school with her. He was SUPER pissed they took her out and whenever something bad happened he would cuss and then say "you should of kept Rose in!" and like EVERY game you go to people do NOT know how to stay seated! Even been to Reds game and like watching them on tv better

Two consecutive matches against a lower-tier opponent? Matches like this benefit neither side. I’ll be impressed again when they show good quality like this against a tough opponent like Brazil or Japan. They obviously don’t need to win 8-0, but solid teamwork and women who put the sport and team before politics are what they need, not blowouts. My best wishes for the development and success of the Paraguayan women’s program.

Paraguay's defense coach needs to be replaced...if they even have one. It kinda got hard to watch. Like straight up no communication or actual pressure, just look at each other collectively in confusion/disappointment
