Lovely soulful rendering of this timeless song. Wonderful voice.
The accuracy of these guys can only be qualified as genius. The song is haunting...
Lovely. One of the first tunes I learned to sing on my acoustic guitar over 54 years ago.
❤
Wonderful! Wonderful!
Bob's talent is so vast and varied that only he could neglect such a gorgeous and soulful tune, later popularized by many great vocalists including the great Odetta! Dylan did a great vocal rendition in the late 70s; he is rich perfect but has unfortunately ravaged his pipes over many decades. Blind Willie McTell is in competition with this as one of his all time great contributions to the American canon.
Verrry moving a rendition of this great Dylan song. You're hell of a trio !!
I want a Love like that.
Verrry truthfulll...very delicious rendition of this great Dyan songs - --pls go on !!! For the Sake of Poetry..and
Beautifully sung and such a fantastic soulful arrangement. Bravo musicians!
Wow, even better than the last time I heard you sing this. Gorgeous voice full of feeling.
thank you for capturing this song. It was such a wonderful show.
Beautiful in every way. Thank you with all my heart.
awesome version ....you made me cry
Beautiful song . You nail it beautiful
One of Bob Dylan's loveliest songs - and, oddly enough, a song he's never made an official studio recording of. There's a live recording on "Greatest Hits Volume 2" and a demo of the song on "The Witmark Demos," but no studio recording. Odd that he would let one of his best songs slip through the cracks like that.
I think he wrote it for Ian (Tyson) and Sylvia (Fricker) whom he met in Greenwich Village in the early 60's. It is on their Four Strong Winds album. Perhaps that is why he never officially recorded it.
The beauty is in the beast
gorgeous. oh man.
Excelente y majestuosa interpretación!! El violín remata con la pureza y armonía que obliga a reconocer el tremendo aporte a la canción por parte de sus interpretes. Genial, Felicitaciones y saludos para Nikel Creek.
"Would I lie in my bed once again" This so fucking ambigous and poetic at same time...
Yep
this is a beautiful cover of my all time fave. I will now need to follow you :-)
For me the best version is by Rod Stewart on his 1971 EPTAS album featuring Martin Quittenton on classical guitar and the great jazz player Dick Powell on violin...simply beautiful music and a track of which I never tire of listening.
Beautiful! 🤍
A song about Suze Rotolo.
Or My Late.
That is one beautiful song. If you haven't already, listen to Elvis' version (great) - also Rod Stewart.
elvis had apparently said this was his favorite dylan song...
👍💖🌸✨💫🌞
what is the name of this woman singing?
Easy enough to search the members of Nickel Creek, and by simple elimination even, Sara Watkins.
Sarah Watkins
Damn she FINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
" Can't Remember the Sound of My Own Name. "
Who writes like that ?
Bob, that's who.
not many better love songs (or Dylan tunes) than this. The fiddle break is superlfuous however IMO. Fingerpicked acoustic is all the necessary accompaniment
They tried. It loses the haunting feeling of loneliness that Dylan brought to it.
Gotta guess you've not heard the version by the Pozo Seco Singers. Gotta call that the official one.
@@jacquesblaque7728 yep, I heard it. The Dylan version is leaps and bounds better. To each our own, Jacques. Thanks for the reply though. Berthold Auerbach wrote that "Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life." I think we could both agree on that.
