    What i’m curious about… can any of these Ai’s:
    • Create, organize, title folders and sub folders?
    • Go through all my documents and place them in the correct folder?
    • Go through all my images/videos and place them in the correct folders?
    • Will I be able to ask it: hey Ai, can please place all my *x business documents* into the correct *x business folder*
    • Can I ask it to move all my duplicate documents, images, videos into a delete folder that I will review later before I decide to delete them?

      Not yet, and that is LEGIT what I'm waiting on. A true AI assistant. We haven't seen anything like that yet, but I'm thinking it will take MS or Apple to pull it off.

    AI stuff aside, I find it interesting that they tout their NEW Surfaces' speeds against a (basically) EOL processor - not to mention, the slowest version of it. The M4 is already released in the iPad Pro. And with WWDC coming up in 2 weeks, I guess they had to say something while they still could. But I doubt this will age well.
    Not to say that what they are doing isn't impressive, but this whole month and beyond is and will be insane. In 2 months, let's see which of all of these huge announcements is still being talked about.

      Ha, I know-- I always scoff at those "fastest computer ever" claims-- there are always so many caveats to the statements. That said, the NPU thing is pretty interesting. And I'm now considering picking up a Surface tablet, namely since my old iPad has been straight up stolen from me by my kids...as has my PS5, and my PS4, and my old TV...and half of my shirts...
      sigh...

    • @shadyendeavor
      @shadyendeavor 28 дней назад

      @@TheoreticallyMedia the NPU is something that every single Apple Silicon Chip has had since the M1, so it's not new. But maybe just to the Surfaces. Of course, I guess it all depends on how well it's implemented. I'm sure Apple will be beefing their's up soon too.
      Sorry about losing your "toys" to your kids. But I'm sure they're worth it.

    Hey maybe a cool video idea for the future would be on NPU and LPUs. Really seems like NPU are going to be the way to go moving forward. Im hesitant to spend any real money on hardware yet as its still so iffy as to what will be the final path.
    Recall does sound creepy but like is it realllly any different than whats already involved with targeted ads? Not IMO. Especially if all its doing is saving the data on a local embedding database with RAG.

    • @TheoreticallyMedia

      And Recall-- yeah, I'm mixed on it. On the one hand, I can see it as pretty handy-- on the other, I can see it as a really slippery slope. Particularly if MS decides to turn it back on "accidentally" during a Win Update. I can see that happening...along with "oh, btw, we collect this data now."

    The screen vision of the AI is interesting. There are AI apps ( for the want of a better name) that trying to see your screen so it can control the cursor and click on links. A basic agent. With OpenAI and Microsoft adding the screen AI that can see what is on your screen, it feels as this is start of an agent that will, on your behalf, take control of your computer and follow through on actions. Your own AI agent. Wow, that got wordy fast.

    Recall being on device seems safer because everyone only worries about big corporations or the gov. knowing what they are doing, but maybe it ends up being the machines themselves that are what we should worry about. They will know everything about you, where you go, what you see, what you do, everything. So on device might not matter because in the end it's the machines you will fear. Whether that's bad AI or what, most of the time we are wrong in what we thought we were right about. I don't think AI as a whole will be evil, but who's running the AI, So I plan to use open source to build my own AI that I can train to protect me, it's worth a shot. You could theoretically teach it to guard you against lots of stuff, and you can trust it more than a corporate AI. Machines, robots whatever embodiment they come in will also have both good and bad forms and fight between themselves most likely.
    Sounds like crazy science fiction but so was the Dick Tracy watch and that happened. So I fully believe we are about to enter a new age of AI and we just don't understand what we are creating yet.

    • @Yewbzee
      @Yewbzee 24 дня назад

      @@harrykatsaros they partnered with OpenAI because they had no choice having failed to bring their own AI platform to their hardware. You think a security conscious company like Apple want to partner with a closed source company like OpenAI sending their customers private data to them and their data centres? Siri has been an industry joke for years which they totally neglected since they first incorporated it.
      Where Tim made his mistake was relying on the Apple mantra “we are not first to market but we perfect the technology”. I can not argue that they have absolutely nailed that in their hardware business, iPhone, iPad etc. However in the AI space that model totally collapses because the pace of development is insane. You don’t have time to perfect today’s AI technology because tomorrow it’s already been superseded. That’s how Apple have dropped the ball, they did not adapt.

    I am extremely concerned about this from a developer of IP perspective. As the law states in regard to copyright, Only human-made works can be protected. AI cannot hold or be granted a copyright. People are to declare what was AI and what was human-made and a copyright is either granted or rejected based on that input. AI art, for example, where an individual prompts the AI for the image, cannot attain a copyright. Many people think that is a good thing. Consider this, AI will be embeded into every last tool developers of Intellectual Property use to make, well, everything. We, the humans driving the creation of new IP, will not have a choice but to use AI embeded tools. As a result it will be increasingly harder to legally protect our work. This will leave in a state of "Pay to play" to produce we cant own. Who wins? Microsoft, Open Ai, etc. The owners of the AI platforms. We will basically be paying them to make their content and IP and we will own nothing. Dont bet against that. This is a serious business model on their part.
