- In this Sonic Adventure 2 Tips and Tricks video, I show you how to get the A ranks in all of Metal Harbor's Missions. Even if you cant make it to the top of the rocket at the end, you can still get the A rank here. If you find these tips useful be sure to let me know! I wanna do more, but I need to know which levels you guys wanna see.

I actually didn't know that bouncing prevents the bonus from setting in. That's very handy to know.

I had no idea that spamming bounce kept the combo meter going- that'll be a lifesaver on the last few A-ranks I need.
Yeah that trick comes in handy alot! Its weird that it works, usually your combo ends when you touch the floor, but I guess a bounce doesn't count lol

Nah its always been super useful. Its just not required so its overlooked. But for the 100% runs it comes in handy alot.
This video would have been really useful to my teenage self when I was working toward 100% completion. I remember forcing an by getting all the rings instead. I eventually got 100%, but it took me a few years of playing the game semi-regularly. The only outside help I had were knowing the exact requirements. I had to figure out everything else by myself.
Back in the day we didnt have RUclips guides to help us. I had the prima strategy guide and STILL didnt know about that secret ring lmao

I'm glad that I've been able to find and watch this video. I've been trying to get an A rank for mission 1 in that stage about 2 days ago and I didn't know that you don't have to get all the way to the top of that rocket to help get enough points. Everyone else who has put out an online walkthrough about this stage mentions that that has to be done, and I frustratingly keep failing to make it up there in time! So next time I attempt to get an A rank in mission 1 and an A rank in any of the other missions in that stage that I might not have gotten yet, I'll rewatch this video to remind myself about what you said can be done to get there in time, and if I fail on managing that again I will be reminded of what other things can be done to achieve the A rank goal in that mission and the 4 other ones in that stage. Thanks for this amount of gaming advice.

Lol, yep, I never knew about that 1 hidden ring! That’s so rad! Also didn’t know about the right rail being worth more! What an awesome video! I always felt like sa2 was slightly inspired by Tony Hawk with the tricks and points. I always felt like spamming the bounce bracelet to chain stuff was essentially doing a manual in Tony hawk!
I miss mashing the buttons while grinding rails to cheese big combos in the tony hawk games lmao
THANK YOU SO MUCH I’m currently trying to 100% SA2 and Metal Harbor has been the vain of my existence. I could never reach the top rocket so never hit the a rank, now I know that I don’t have too! I’d love tips for Mad Space and Lost Colony, especially that one since I can’t see anything in that level so getting the a rank is difficult.

A guide like this is quite helpful, i have been slowly getting my A ranks in the game. The levels i have the biggest issue with right now is Meteor Herd, Mad Space, Eternal Engine, Cannon's Core, Sky Rail And Final Chase/Rush. I know that's a lot but this is a goal 3 years in the making.

Eternal Engine should be fine as long as you don't die, Cannon's Core if you get plenty of good mech combos, abuse the time-stop switches, and don't die after the checkpoint.
@@AkameGaKillfan777 Not dying is kinda key to every A rank lol. Not too many levels you can die and still get the A rank
@@AkameGaKillfan777 I probably should clarify, most of these I have an A Rank for the first mission (With the exception of mad space). It's the other missions I need help with.

0:23 I'd also suggest that you run back and grind on the other rail for an extra 300 points... if you want
A cool video idea could be to try and get the highest combo with each character. I’ve sunk hundreds of hours in this game, yet it wasn’t until a YT video this year that I learned what the audio sounds like for Tails if you get a perfect combo lol.
Ohhh I actually like that idea alot! I'll add that to my backlog of video ideas to make for sure. The bonus points for a combo maxes out at 2000, but we can see how many enemies beyond that and just do the math to see how many points it would be worth.
It would be easiest to do that at the end of Eternal Engine (multiple Perfect bonuses), or on a specific pulley in Hidden Base where you're surrounded by Kikis and a double-column of dynamite off-screen (hold the pulley and spin around, fire before jumping; easy Extreme bonus).
Knowing that Bounce Bracelet continues combos just makes me even more angry that Shadow never gets it.
Speaking of which, I could never figure out how to clear Mission 4 of Radical Highway; I've tried everything I could think of, and it still seems like there isn't NEARLY enough time.
Yeah its a shame shadow doesnt get it! Ill replay Mission 4 when im home from work and see if theres any advice I can give you.

I usually just get all the rings for an A rank in this stage since it's a pretty short and easy one.
I suppose I should have mentioned thats an option. Although if you're getting all the rings, you're taking the high rocket path, its probably likely you'd get the A rank regardless at that point. Also getting all the rings isn't an option in every level, some of them have rings you cant access.
Shoot seeing this now I get all the a ranks in the game I thought it was time base 😭😭
Yeah its a mix of time and score. I miss the score based ranks. Its fun finding the balance between speed and precision

didnt know about the hiddne ring, butmy problem is that its not spawning, anyone know if its an issue on the steam version?
It absolutely should be spawning, are you sure you're at the right platform? Its the one after the 2nd pully right before you run down a ramp leading to a loop.

@@andrewpitt621 FPS would definitely not cause that. What version of the game do you use? Maybe its not there in all versions. Whats the total rings number when you clear the stage?

Its possible to do it that way too, its just harder. Props for doing it that way! I did too when I was younger, I didnt learn the secret ring until years later. I dont even think the official strategy guide showed it
