There exists the possibility that this 40 year-old truck, shod on its original but many times retreaded tyres, was a few ounces overloaded? Having said that, I greatly respect the ingenuity and never-say-die approach of these engineers. They get things done!
30 ton top-heavy load on single rear axle with tandem wheels equates to about 7+ tons per wheel. Typical U.S. max drive axle or trailer axle wheel loading is 4.25 tons. No wonder this wreck happened! Look at all the manpower (and I admire these lean, mean strong workers) wasted on getting the wreck off the road. I was raised in Africa, same thing there, load the damn vehicle sky high and never mind the laws of physics or the limits of even the best designed trucks. It's insane. Forget the ornate truck art and get a focus on knowing your vehicle's limitations . . . you'll be more respected, profitable, and still alive in the long run.
Terrible work zone. But these guys don't complain. They stay focused. I wonder how many of the professional mechanical guys here in Austria would be able to bear such a challenge under these circumstances. However: Respect for these Pakistani people!

Problem of all similar repairs, that after welding no any other thermal procedures for removing the tension of the metal. At least not shown in videos. And yes - overload of truck.
Wow, just look at the damage to the underside of the truck! Virtually everything that can be ripped apart by overloading has been destroyed. You can see now what happens to a vehicle when it's overloaded. It makes no sense, little wonder there are so many accidents over there, common sense really isn't winning over there, I know they have to make some money from the work they do but surely any profits are eaten away by rebuilds like this. I applaud the people working on this vehicle, very hot and incredibly dangerous, hard working lads.
They all worked very, very hard. They are all smart mechanic's and should get rewarded. A nice breakfast lunch or dinner. Jim, San Francisco, California.
None of those hooks are rated for crane picking . Those cables are shot as well. They should be in the scrap pile along with the truck lol. Throw the crane in there while your at it. Bet thats never had a certifacation in last 50 years .
😂😂😂😂😂 do u think this people care bout regulations safety and all that 😂😂😂they over load this trucks like 10 times over their limits take a look at all that extra stuff they put on big and stupid unnecessary bumper chains all over empty this trucks are overweight 😂😂

Absolutely unbelievable! How these guys, with all the traffic going by, and out in the open, on the road, put this beast back together again. With more or less just hand tools. Couldn't do that in Arizona!

The leaf spring set can handle heavy over loads. But the axle itself cant handle it! The axle has its capacity limit.and come to think of it, its only a 6 wheeler truck with a 30 ton of load.
Mixing dirt and gravel into lubricated mechanisms, "experts" of the very highest quality for sure. (And I must be wrong, but it almost appears this "heavy truck" is bearing load-weight on its axels, but any semi-competent engineer would have the axels free-floating and the weight carried buy the differential housing. So I must be wrong. So I am wrong, the rear axels are free-floating. Where did the broken axels in the opening scenes come from?)
Apparently India (or Pakistan...Whatever), have the same understanding of the concept of "center-of-gravity" as the Chinese. i.e "The higher you pile the load, and placing the heavier items as close to the very top as possible (since heavy items create their own gravity pulling things beneath them upward instead of downward), the stronger the overall gravity gets to prevent tip-overs" Should the truck tip-over, its because the road is graded with a high center to facilitate rainwater runoff to the sides of the road, so any tip-over is obviously the roads fault.
Gee, if that happened in New Zealand the whole street would be closed off, there be cranes and trucks everwhere to clear the road, there would be cops, traffic management everywhere. They would be measuring everything and weighing the load. The trucking firm would be lucky to walk away with a $50,000 fine if found negligent , plus they would have to pay all police, load and truck recovery costs. The truck would be never be allowed back on the road (IF repaired) unless it went through a major certification, and if the trucking company was found negligent the insurance company wouldn't pay out.
What are they thinking? These trucks are full of rusty tires and the worst thing is that they are overloaded. This truck is already fully loaded with these children's toys that they put on the roof and everywhere else, just with this weight it's too much. I don't understand what's going on with these long bars at the front and all the children's toys. They have to think with their little brains, a truck can only transport as much as it says on it and not what fits on it, they overload the trucks 🚚 every time and the trucks are old, full of rust and everything is broken. Dear God please give these people some brains to think so they can move forward in life thank you. 😅
1:10 - Why do you have these "altars" in trucks in the front? To increase the effect of crashes, or to kill pedestrians more effectively? 1:30 - Delivery of new parts to the workshop?
Dont understand why in these countries they're determined to fill a quart bottle with a gallon of gas. In other words. Why do they always over load these poorly maintained trucks. Everything has a limit. And the older a thing is, it can do the things it used to do. Now the money you were going to make youll have to spend 5 times to get this truck repaired. So you can overload it again. What a vicious cycle.
In the trucks original configuration probably 5 ton tare, plus then the stupidly oversize tray as well as all the gargoyles attached. IF this was a civilised country the drivers would be in jail and nearly all the trucks put off the road
So only overloaded by about 22 tonnes. What could go wrong. And then they put the same load on an old Bedford,,,,, what could go wrong! Reassembled with dirt and muck in the bearings, torn axles seals, no gasket with the axles and the brakes were covered in grease and oil. So something else will fail very quickly,,,, who needs brakes on a truck overloaded by 20+ ton.
As someone who works in a modern truck garage I tip my hat to these guys.
30 tons of steel cargo. Plus the steel bodywork. All on a 16ton rated chassis. Just an accident waiting to happen.
They do what they have to. It's rough there. I know personally
That is 16 ton of truck and load!. And dont forget the tonne + of gargoyles!

It's reassuring to see they are wearing their regulation safety sandals.
Why would a travelling circus be hauling a load of scrap?
Excellent job
Adding work lights on the roof of the crane's control room or in the middle of the boom will make night work easier.
I like the way the trucks are painted in rainbow colors and that the employees are allowed to wear dresses on the job.🌈
it is nice to see people not obese and not tattooed
It won't matter what they do to fix it. They will just overload it again and be back to this. They all do it.

Axle made from old ships anchor chain with no heat treatment !
Like we see in another video, plausible.
I don't know who or what caused the accident but I would bet it being overloaded and not properly maintained had something to do with it.
The second I seen it was only a single axle truck plus the load, no wonder that thing broke so catastrophically.
Looks like the whole thing should be in the scrap yard not just the junck in the back
That road seems to be busier at night, crazy. Well done guys in a terrible work environment.

These Pakistanis didn’t stop the roadside repair work on account of rain.
You have got to admire these people
Why? Because they stupidly overload trucks. Then when they hit someone it is never their fault!
@ldnwholesale8552 lm referring to the repairs they carry out, not what they carry
The leaf spring set can handle heavy over loads. But the axle itself cant handle it!
The axle has its capacity limit.and come to think of it, its only a 6 wheeler truck with a 30 ton of load.
Cool

All trucks that size use floating hubs,, but when 20 ton overloaded the housing broke then the axle shaft
never designed to carry that much 7 maybe 8 tons max
Must be an overloaded garbage dump truck ..😢😢😮😮
Apparently India (or Pakistan...Whatever), have the same understanding of the concept of "center-of-gravity" as the Chinese.
i.e "The higher you pile the load, and placing the heavier items as close to the very top as possible (since heavy items create their own gravity pulling things beneath them upward instead of downward), the stronger the overall gravity gets to prevent tip-overs"
Should the truck tip-over, its because the road is graded with a high center to facilitate rainwater runoff to the sides of the road, so any tip-over is obviously the roads fault.
It's not an accident if you overload the truck on purpose...
How long has that been broken ?
Quite a while looking at rust on the fracture , likely be an old repair that's failed
Would this be caused by grossly overloading the truck, i think so
Gee, if that happened in New Zealand the whole street would be closed off, there be cranes and trucks everwhere to clear the road, there would be cops, traffic management
everywhere. They would be measuring everything and weighing the load. The trucking firm would be lucky to walk away with a $50,000 fine if found negligent , plus they would have to pay all police, load and truck recovery costs.
