I felt the same way as you re: the Hatch alarm clock's red light, but it's actually so nice to wind down to like you said! You can set a nighttime routine and different times for each setting - I have mine set up with 15 minutes of red light that I'll turn on when my fiance get into bed and spend some time on our phones or reading, and then it'll go into an hour of ocean waves which is also what prompts us to put down our phones/books and go to bed! It's sooo nice and cannot fall asleep without that little routine!
