I heard this song for the first time curled up in a chair in the cancer wing of our local hospital as my mom was receiving her chemo (6 more treatments then radiation starts). It's insanely hard watching her fight to stay alive. It's terrifying that you are depending on the Dr.s to give enough chemo (which is a poison) to go after the cancer but not having to much that it kills her.

He may seem over the top at times but it's his way of trying to wake people up to the truth thru his music. A lot of people on this earth would never take the time to look past the piercings and tattoos to hear the messages like this one that come from his heart and that's a shame. We as a people need to start looking beyond people's color, looks, and flaws to see the good in each other and realize that in the end no matter how much the media and the government try to keep us fighting among ourselves that we are all brothers and sisters. If we don't start standing up for each other then who will. The politicians sure as hell aren't worried about us whether they be republican or democrat. They speak and make promises to gain power and control. Tom speaks from the heart to anyone willing to listen to try to make us all wake up and realize that whether it be cancer, racism, poverty or anything else we have the power to overcome it if we all stand as one. This song is just another example of the depth of the man that's behind the lyrics and the kind of heart he has and the love for all people that he has. My father died of cancer a few years ago. I watched him go from a healthy man down to just a shadow of the man he had been in just six months from being diagnosed with cancer. A song like this makes me feel sad to have lost him but proud at the same time to have watched him fight for every day as hard as he did when he knew it was hopeless. One day, I hope that someone can find a cure for all cancers, but one I especially would like them to find a cure for. That's childhood cancer because every time I see those commercials. I'm like, no child should have to go through that. They should be out playing and being kids , not having to go through treatments, and their families not knowing if their child/ sibling will make it or not is something I can't imagine ever going through.
