The amount of people moaning about the lack of articulation on social media is ridiculous. Trick or Treat made absolutely no secret of the fact that the whole "scream greats" line was an homage to the old 90s figures like McFarlane movie maniacs, with great sculpts but virtually no articulation to break the design. Myers, the Killer Klowns and Pumpkinhead (at least) are must buys for me.
I think people would be "moaning" less if you got more bang for your buck. Just a few dollars more and Neca will give you significantly more accessories and a lot of articulation. Having said that the figure DOES look amazing.
I’d rather have less articulation and a well detailed sculpt like this instead, accessories are nice but usually neca just gives you a bunch of useless hands that nobody cares about, at least you get a extra full arm here, lol
21:46 - I think the hands are supposed to turn all the way around. On my figure, the hands turn very easily on both right arms. However, when turning the left wrist, the hand twisted clean off, and I had to glue it back in place. Ah well, it's not like Michael is doing much with that hand anyway.
Just ordered one of these because of this video haha. Was waiting to see it other than the promo photos, it does not disappoint. I wonder what the head sculpt would look like on the H18 Neca Retro Cloth
Pre ordered this months ago as soon as i saw that mask. The best ive seen on a figure thats not a custom made one. Arrived from mad about horror the other day and its stunning.
For me personally it looks incredible,Mad about Horror sold out now but have left my email so hopefully get one when more stock arrives Thanks to your video mate Have a merry Christmas
@@deanknight333 I like what Darco customs has done to this head sculpt and the hair too but by itself it’s still good. I wonder if they changed the head sculpt. The one I had as a kid was very warped and I hardly liked it
Considering that NECA and McFarlane has turned its products into toys with multiple joints and accessories, it's nice to see the return of inexpensive "figurine-type" figures with minimal points of movement
This is a really nice looking Halloween 1978 Michael Myers figure. It's definitely screen accurate for sure. The head sculpt is solid and it has some nice weathering. The hair has been sculpted nicely, aside from the seamline. The coveralls look great. I like the worn look in the wrinkles. The paint application has been done quite nicely. The details are impressive. The pumpkin looks great, despite the lack of a light-up option. Even with the hair seamline and limited articulation, this is still a wonderful figure release on the part of TOTS. I completely agree with you 100%. This is easily the best Halloween 1978 Michael Myers figure that I've seen in a long time. To top things off, it's very affordable as well. The segment towards the end was absolutely hysterical. I laughed really hard. Solid work once again Dean! I appreciate the hard work! Keep it up! Thank you! God bless and stay safe! I hope that you have yourself a very Merry Christmas!
Great review! I agree this is the best Myers figure head sculpt ever done. I picked this same figure up today and it is incredible in person. I got the wrists to turn no problem (you might want to dip yours in warm water) but that seam on the hair is a bit of a bummer. I can't wait to pose him with my Neca Loomis. Looks great on the diorama!
the old McFarlane Toys Movie Maniacs 18" Michael Myers is sculpted really well...still on point... this is good also...thanks for the review man...so detailed also... Mcfarlane Toys to NECA to SOTA Toys to Mezco to Sideshow to so many others who brought us Horror Movie toy lines...now TOTS...yes been TOTS Horror collectibles but these Scream Greats are like Movie Maniacs 1998 and on...
Finally, I perfect figure. No awful action pose. No 45 points of articulation. I’m so sick of these little figures that look like a bunch of lines and cracks. No figure on earth needs a thigh swivel. I mean, what is wrong with these companies?
Excellent figure, especially at this price! This will be the first and only 78 Myers figure I have. I saw the older McFarlane/NECA 78 but I never cared for how it looked. Pre-ordered mine from BBTS back in August so hopefully I'll get in within a few weeks- already have a spot picked out for it
@@leechefski are the forearms too short then? the distance from elbow to hand, wondering why im seeing that. Will have inhand soon looking forward to it.
@@illproxyArtit’s because the figure is so tall, nick castle was just shy of 6 foot in the film, compared to other 7 inch human figures like Laurie and loomis, this figure is basically lebron in a mask
This is by far the best 7 , 8 inch Michael ever made the head is unbelievable and it's clear in what tots wanted to do with less articulation for less problems and more detail anyone remember necas early Michaels that became holy Grails with basically noooo movement at all well this beats those three super great channel dean look forward to your Halloween room in a few months
I just got mine, I absolutely love it. Tots killed it this time. Looking forward to more from this line! On another note...Dean, if you did those voices, your American accent is totally on point!
This is a great piece I picked one up right away when I seen them come out a no brainer !. The shots you captured here are nice. Outstanding puts a lot of the Neca figures to shame ……
This is the greatest Myers statue/action figure. My mistake was only buying one. I completely agree. I’m a grown man…I don’t need massive articulation. What? Myers doing a roundhouse kick? No Michael Myers is “The Shape”. I want detail and I do NOT want to buy a stand. This Scream Greats figure stands beautifully on its own. I hope, hope Trick or Treat Studios (Scream Greats) makes a version for the other Halloween movies. I will officially stop buying Necas. These are the BEST
This is prolly the best bang for your buck halloween figure ever, despite the lack of articulation it easily makes it up by not making him look ultra huge with a small head like most of the neca figures. A slim above average height guy with a big cheap Halloween mask on just like the original
I wasn't going to bother with this figure but after watching this video I thought Yes I'm buying him, cheers Dean,I hope you have a great Christmas 🎄 🥃👍,oh im looking forward having that Halloween making of book you mentioned, thanks again Dean 👍🎄🎅
Watched your review and knew a had to get it bro Got the Candy Man also,You should look to get that in mate Am going to collect the line but not fussed about the killer clown stuff
We needed a proper 78 neca sized figure. 😊 And now we have it brother. This is a badass piece And I can't wait to get it. Too bad about his left wrist hand area. Before you even said that I wanted to leave a comment about that. I would just heat it up with a heat gun or a blow dryer and just make it look more natural. Great review as always brother 💯💯👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪
Regardless of the lack of accessories & articulation this is the best Myers at this scale. I do think he's a bit too narrow in his mid-section though. Once I get mine I'm gonna add some minor details to the mask. A bit of black wash and some slight dry brush here & there.
Hey Dean, I wanted to ask did your figures right knife hand come in that pose or did you twist/bend it? Because mine and others right knife holding hand is facing inward toward the body.
I don’t understand how Tots got the license but Neca couldn’t and has been telling us for years it was because of licensing issues. Reminds me of the bs McFarlane gave us years ago about the Hellraiser license, and then Neca was able to obtain it.
@@Psycho50501 but what I found ironic is they were on the other side when McFarlane was the cheap one to pony up for the Hellraiser license. This is what pisses me off the most, they forgot their roots.
It comes in a Halloween II 2 pack with loomis and an updated Micheal, that’s the only way you can get him. I believe it’s gonna cost you around 70 which is what I got mine for.

I’d rather have less articulation and a well detailed sculpt like this instead, accessories are nice but usually neca just gives you a bunch of useless hands that nobody cares about, at least you get a extra full arm here, lol
Articulation is so overrated. I'd much rather have figures like this without weird seams.

Everything is fantastic...except that seam line. It's unforgivable for a figure this expensive.
Any ideas on a height mod to scale with neca figures?

@randomkillerx2157 all neca cares about now is milking TMNT CRAP.
I think this is the best Michael myers figure. I’m not a fan of the horned hair look so this one is it for me.
I agree
You reckon this is as you say Dean, the greatest 78 figure of The Shape in any scale? Better than the 1/6 78 from trick or treat studios?
Where can I get a dr loomis figure from I’m in uk if someone could tell me that would be brilliant I just need 1 to complete my myers collection

Where can I get this from
Would you say this is the best 78 mfers available in this scale?
The mold seam on the hair is annoying. The mask looks great. The hands do look a bit big. If it was 25.00 I’d jump. But 35.00 plus shipping?
I wish NECA will do 78 ultimate Michael Myers sadly
Love neca but they’d prolly just make his body ultra bulky with a small head like the Halloween 2 figure
I agree neca overdoes it when it comes to the myers and godzilla figures and sacrifices sculpt for unnecessary articulation
His hands are HUGE!
Yup only thing I noticed but it’s still pretty amazing and it the best 78 for now! For any scale like he mentioned!
Hands are too big but overall its decent
The seam on the hairline is so disappointing. Why now? Almost a perfect figure.
Big bad toy store takes forever to ship
