"That's it" at 23:11 is I guess not so easy as it seems to be ☺ / The cascading harmonics remind me of drops of water, splashing on the rocks into thousands of joyful jumping flying tiny little ones! Lovely! Thanks for the wonderful lesson and great explanations. Greetings from Norway!
The "that's it" maybe made it sound too easy hahah. It isn't easy for sure and the technique is so different that it takes some getting used to. I really like your description of the sound 🙂
@@Yourguitarworkshop Since I live in Norway, I hear cascades everywhere: water is streaming down constantly, except in winter of course. But even the smallest stream can create these sounds as in the video. You have masterly been performing a cascade. That awakened the memory! 👏
I was messing around with playing the cascading harmonics today and noticed it was much easier playing them with the thumb pick. It has not been overly difficult for me to play natural harmonics but touch harmonics are a different story. Perhaps if my thumbnail was shaped correctly it would be easier. Playing with the pad of the thumb just not a happening thing for touch harmonics, but for natural harmonics it works fine.
over the years I have studied such diverse playing styles that I don't even notice those changes and differences anymore, they "just happen". I think the biggest adjustment I had to make was several years ago when I studied Doc Watsons fingerstyle, the pattern was easy to play but to use his technique required a lot of extra practice. I also play a lot of electric guitar which helps with the muting part

The amazing guitar teacher.
Thank you so much! 🙂
I have the privilege of actually being taught in person by him, I really recommend this guy!

How does your right hand adjust to sitting and muting at the bridge? I am used to classical guitar technique which is very ergonomic :)
