6:25 the collision between the tank of water and the car is so powerful it looks like its animated lmao
It looks like something of final destination
I don't know why, but it feels so satisfying to see it being smashed down to the ground after bouncing a little
Same
Chris Draper omg yeah
@@spaceyleon yeah
*literally just drops car*
Kids: *whoooa! Cool! I did not expect that!*
Thepikazapper05
Lol 😂
They were talking about the rope smashing the roof
That wasn't flying! That was... falling with style.
Lol
Thank you Buzz Lightyear
"I'm not really good with math but um... We've just crushed a car"
I like his logic. If only regular math class was like that.
Cringe
Yeah, no shit Sherlock
Urabouy i know
Yeah we totally crushed a car
I think we need to appreciate how terrifying it must have been for Adam and the crew when the payload didn't drop. Adam and Jamie have both said on multiple different occasions that the worst thing that can happen during a test is nothing, since you don't know where the failure point might be, and you're adding an element of unpredictability to such a dangerous stunt. And in this instance, it happened when he was surrounded by children.
i love that even when adam is surrounded by kids hes always the bigest kid when it comes to reacting to science
They need to call in the Slow Mo Guys
Recorded at 25,500 fps in full hd
never should have gotten rid of this show. GOD THIS IS SO EPIC
This video makes me love my prelude even more 😖😢
Poor Lude RIP
When that box-o-water came crashing down I thought about Roadrunner & Coyote cartoons.
R.i.p Honda Prelude 💔
Alpha ___ a 4th gen too :/ i still miss mine
I don’t that’s it the front of the car looks different
no that is def a 4th gen 92-96
RIP to my brother... prelude
Vtec kicked in
Preludes dont deserve an end *sheds a tear
I love that Adam is way more enthusiastic than the kids
"Levitating"
a.k.a
"Dropping shit from high up"
WHY THE HONDA PRELUDE!!! RIP LITTLE HONDA!!!
An object in motion wants to stay in motion. An object at rest wants to stay at rest. The second drop was naturally going to be longer because the water wants to stay at rest when released and the rubber band is still pulling on the car after the water is released. So, the car should naturally stay up longer. This isn't gravity defying. It is physics. And physics is cool!
Newton laws of motion
technically it is gravity defying, just not physics defying.
jonathan kydd the only thing that is being defied is perception. People focus on the car instead of the total mass and acceleration of both objects. When everything is factored in, the total acceleration still comes in at 1G.
@@jonathankydd1816 then by your logic magnets and helium balloons also defy gravity.
Would be a lot of fun discussing this in a physics classroom - all ideas I get for if I decide to become a physics teacher (if engineering turns out to suck). I haven't seen the rest of this episode, did they discuss the theory of it all or just go straight to smashing stuff? That's one of my biggest criticisms of Mythbusters all along, they often tend to go straight to smashing or blowing up stuff without really discussing the theoretical basis of the myth, and in many cases I think they don't set things up right because they don't really think about or understand such. Of course smashing and blowing up is a lot better television for most people, I'd enjoy the physics (and other science depending on the myth) talk as I am a huge nerd.
The production quality with kids just isn’t as good I’m sorry but it’s a bad concept and I adored mythbusters
Edit: Thanks for all the likes, Happy to see so many people loved the original.
I agree but I have to admit the sine wave line was clever
Yup, lose the kids.
Theo Reade kids cost less
less salaries you sickos
What the hell are you talking about? I think it's awesome!
Especially when the adults do all of the heavy work.
Man, these MB jr. clips really get a lot of dislikes, don't they?
Nobody can replace the original myth busters.
Kyle Stephens no one really likes the kids there voices are kinda annoying
Still not as bad as rewind 2018
They just keep killing good cars first this prelude and now an mr2
Adam fakes delight way too much.
6:26 that looks like something that would happen in final destination
With the water tank the car was already visibly falling by frame 400.
A metal spring should work much better
The spring - Its much more expensive than the air and space u consume in this universe.
Answer : bad idea
Somebody please bring Jamie back. NOW!
Adam and Jamie can’t stand each other. Sooooo prolly a no go.
@@twigdayzclips2859 if they've hid it so well all those years
Why did one stay and one leave?
How did they chose
Blueanakin0125 Bob They chose by Adam wanting to keep doing it, and Jamie saying he doesn’t like doing TV, or just being in front of a camera.
Any part out on that prelude??🤔🤔
2:19 sounded like he was reading from a script
*A COLONY OF GO-PROS WERE HARMED IN THIS VIDEO*
i couldn’t imagine how fast that bungee was traveling 😂😂
It looks like linus' car from linus tech tips repainted!
Are they helium balloons?
Aw for fuck sake.
I told you the car is lighter than helium balloons.
Oh we’re flying away.
This is something Mr Beast would do
now get inside it
Oh yeah! 😀😁😂🤣
We should put a flat earther there :)
We'll say to him here's an experiment which disproves gravity and he won't suspect a thing and when he finds out it's too late😈😈😈
“You know what’s cooler than dropping a car? Dropping a car twice.”
🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
Wow nice learning experience for us.. Thanks for your video.👏👏
If you don’t know about Elastic Force then that comment is expected
*NO VEHICLE WAS HARM DURING THIS EXPERIMENT*
what a waste of amazing car. R.I.P Honda Prelude 4th gen (looks out the window at his black one)
It definitely came out of a junkyard. It had no brakes, and for all we know either didn't have an engine or the engine was seized. One thing is for sure, production won't buy a car off of a used car lot and crush it with a massive tank of water. The car was past it's useful life and this show honored the car with a viking's death in one last display of awesomeness.
They also destroyed a AW11 MR2
@@ralofofriverwood852 true. They like to crush rare JDM cars instead of crushing crappy assed 90's-2000's crappy american cars
Ayeee I have a black si with a H22A1
Good less lawnmowers on the road the better
Next step: double the amount of bungee cords!
I really hope they’re doing mythbusters jr to see if people are still interested in mythbusters, to potentially bring it back.
I was flinching when the rubber band stretched 😁
It ain't much, but it's honest work.
The water:you want to go
Car:no
Water:let’s go
wow humans finally made flying cars
6:26 that was the most amazing thing I've ever seen
I'll take some of those free falls. Can't beat free
2:45 I think Adam has some Mythbuster PTSD going on right there.
2:22
What my gf says when I show her the batwing 😂
Wow
Now thats alot of damage
That water thing was so heavy it almost looked like an effect in a movie
I love how the car bounced softly when it landed, and then the tank landed like... well... a tank! it didn't bounce at all
I think the biggest issue with this isn't the weight at the top but the tensile of the cable you want something that can resist being stretched out and then have the weight at the top and you'll get a reaction. Other than that it'll never really work.
The car never defeated gravity, it was being pulled up by the elastic band while water tank was accelerating more than 1G
OK??
why a prelude, why?😭😭😭
cause it sucks
@@isatntt how they're quick cheap easy to make power from...
@@shadow1fun777 Exactly, They're cheap
lotusjag garage ??? cheap = no loss when it’s smashed
They destroyed an aw11 mr2 at least this one is a common car.
The bungees damage to the roof alone was surprising!
That Bungee came down so fast the roof of the car couldn’t even withstand it, just got caved in.
I love this experiment! :-)
great video! so now i wonder what if you added say double the weight on the top? 6,000lbs ontop and 3,000 on the bottom... would it "hover" more?
@The Elon Gamer The object at the bottom will never move up, the bungee is already pulled to the max tension, when the top object is released, the tension decreases because it moves down.
Everyone complaining about the kids, get over yourself. This is more than just for you, this is more than just Mythbusting. This is giving kids a viewpoint that even they can do science. Even if the adults do the larger ones, they're there learning, seeing what they could be doing in the future. I hate to break it to you, Adam isn't in to it for you, but for those kids, for other kids.
Bring back mythbusters!
Ima car expert and this, was the perfect test subject.
Guy coming back from lunch break: "Hey has anyone seen my car? The super bright neon Honda Prelude. I parked it outside. Also why's the parking lot so wet?"
is that car good or famous or something?
The car on the last test was like: oh I'm oka-
*BOOM*
Physics is so exciting
Rip that poor 1994 Honda Preylude
lol im doing this for a school project, and i have to watch the video
this looked like a horror movie without the darkness. it just came crashing down and cut the car in half
I missed the old ones.
Now thats what you call a lowrider
One neat thing we see, is that a super hero with rubber powers could get some serious damage potential, with how the cord crushed the car roof on the first drop.
Levitate - rise or cause to rise and hover in the air.
All I saw was the car falling and didn't hover in the air like The hoverboard in "Back to the Future"
Yep its not levitation at all
In the slowmo they also didn't show when it was released. (Maybe it was later) and they also stopped the counter after it was already falling
Nice experiment
Amazing experiment I love science
6:27 this reminds me at a cartoon. Like when the coyote gets hit by a weight :D
The art on the car is pretty funny
Now imagine some one was in the car on the final drop
Years later: Do you remember your first crush?
Yes, i do, it was a car!
Well now there needs to be a show where we just crush cars with bungee cords and giant water containers.
😅
Dude the car hovered until the bungee smashed it down.
*AND YOU WON'T BRING ME DOWN!*
Ohhh sorry wrong video😅
I legit thought someone was going to start singing that...
6:27 car: do you know the wa..
tank: NO MORE!!!!!!!!
You’re 10 years old
Your mom just picked you up from school early because you have a doctors appointment
She stops at McDonald’s and gets you a happy meal and sprite.
You are excited to get some of that crispy water in your mouth ASAP
The cup touches your lips
Your mom floors the car from a standstill.
6:37
People 1000 years ago wondering what advances will happen 1000 years later......this video.
To me the second demonstration was basically how the Incredible Hulk can crush a car
Now imagine that guy getting in the car after the first failed test and the tank just drops....
it still drops, the center of gravity of the whole thing still drops normally
Rip prelude
When the water tank hit the car it reminded me of the worker and the barrel of bricks.
For one second I thought this was bob the science guy xD
Blue Water And UNDERTALE did you mean bill bye the scince guy of science bob
Doesn't mythbusters have smart people anywhere. Put smarter kidsss👏👏
Imagine getting rubber banded by that thing
What if you use a much much much longer bungee cord? Would it hover longer?
a little bit of explanation really should have been said... for instance that the reason the car is "levitating" is because of the tension still on the bungee after the initial release until it gets close enough to the car that the tension is no longer there and it falls faster and faster. the reason the weight at the top makes it better is because it is falling way slower making the bungee take way longer to release the tension and let the car fall faster. its the same thing for a human who is bungee jumping, if a human lets say cut the bungee as he or she was at the peak of the decent then their speed would be lowered enough so that the force pulling you to the ground is the same force pulling you up and at that moment you are safe as long as the ground is close, however lets say the bungee was cut at the top, well then the force of the bungee pulling you up would still be there until the bungee released all of its potential energy so you would "levitate" if only for just a few milliseconds
Yes, physics.
Is a VTEC Honda Prelude
that cars not flying, it's falling with style
I’m a simple man: I see Adam Savage and I click.
When the car came down it looked like final destination
6:26 when bass drop too hardd... hahaa
Shouldn't this depend a lot on the spring constant of the bungee?
3:29 voice crack
At 6:43 to 6:53, we can see the car drop very slowly. About a few inches during 10s.
Why dont they actually investigate the physics of the situation and talk about the levitation effect being directly related to the k value of the spring.
Wearepricester they probably do in the full version of the episodes. These are just shortened for RUclips
i think the bungee cord looked like it faded away with thanos' snap, SPEEDED UP TO ABOUT 1 MILLISECOND!
This is not a myth, its in every physics textbook ever.
