    G'day, and many thanks for all your 'How to' videos.
    They do help when there is so much rubbish being put out there.
    Regarding the muffler holes: call me dumb but did you enlarge them all?
    My local Bunnings didn't know what sieve mesh was. Oh dear!!
    The side adjuster and dogs do make a difference to a handy sized MS170.

      I just bent them outwards a bit gave it a tad more space

    I've done the side adjust and fang on my 2 170's. I have not done the exhaust yet and may never. Good video though especially the bit about making the exhaust port holes too big. :-)

    I'm told that mesh size 20 is 1mm holes and depends on where you buy it its available in a sample size for under $6.
    Larger size e.g. 300mmx300mm around $22 Australian - free shipping on most.

      It most likely breaks regulations am sure. Anything you touch on any exhaust will break manufacturers and government regs. But that said it runs better

    Did you keep the stock carburetor when you did that exhaust mod or did you ring out the main jet or you keep everything bone stock

      All I did was change to bigger mesh so the saw will breathe a litter better and retune low and high. It runs slightly better not a huge Increase but better small Increase than no increase

    Did you adjust the carb afterwards?

    • @ChainsawUsers
      @ChainsawUsers  8 месяцев назад

      No because it just breaths a little more. Many people go to far with these mods and yes they require tune up

    I drilled the dead center hole and far left, far right middle holes to meet their corresponding holes, kept the stock screen and flared the vents slightly. I knew that goon that carves out the entire grid ruined his saw.😅 It's amazing how ignorant people are to air/ fuel ratios. Anytime you open intake or exhaust on an engine, you're leaning it out. Lean is mean... until it's burnt up the motor.

    • @ChainsawUsers

      That said means bark box egan straight shot will all lean out the motor. I only flared the vents also just a bit
