Vakava vaaratilanne - A serious incident Helsinki-Malmi (EFHF)

Turkkilaisyhtiön Boeing 727-koneen laskeutuminen liian alas Malmin lentokentän lähiliikennealueella toukokuussa 1991 aiheutti vakavan
vaaratilanteen. Lentokone ylitti Malmin lentokentän jopa alle 100 metrin (300 jalan) korkeudessa. Malmin alueella olisi saattanut samaan aikaan olla pienkoneliikennettä alle 600 jalan korkeudessa, sillä kentällä operoitiin tuolloin keskimäärin 400 lentoa päivässä.
Turkkilaiskone erehtyi luulemaan Malmin rullausväylää (entinen kiitotie 32) Helsinki-Vantaan kiitotieksi 33, johon kone oli matkalla Malmin
lentokentän ylitse. Lopulta kone teki ylösvedon ja jatkoi matkaansa laskuun Helsinki-Vantaalle. Koneessa oli 177 matkustajaa ja kahdeksan hengen
miehistö. Tapauksen silminnäkijänä oli muun muassa ilmavoimien Learjet-koneen miehistö heidän lentäessään turkkilaiskoneen takana niin ikään
laskeutuakseen Helsinki-Vantaalle.

In May 1991, a serious incident occurred when a Turkish airline's Boeing 727 aircraft descended too low over the Helsinki-Malmi Airport's local
traffic area. The plane flew over the Malmi Airport at an altitude of less than 100 meters (300 feet). At the time, there could have been small aircraft
traffic in the Malmi area at altitudes under 600 feet, as the airport handled an average of 400 flights per day.
The Turkish plane mistakenly identified Malmi's taxiway (formerly runway 32) as runway 33 at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport, where the plane was headed
after passing over Malmi. The aircraft eventually executed a go-around and continued its approach to land at Helsinki-Vantaa. Onboard were 177
passengers and a crew of eight. Among the witnesses to the event was the crew of an Air Force Learjet, which was flying behind the Turkish plane,
also preparing to land at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport.
The video recounts the sequence of events based on the official investigation. The incident investigation released the radio communications between the aircraft and air traffic control, which is a key part of the narrative.
