What a crying shame The Beatles didn't do a "proper" recording of this for an early album, like "The Beatles Second Album". This is as good as "Mr. Postman".Thanks for posting!
wow...what a great collection. i thought i had seen all the beatles photos there was to see in my lifetime...man, was i wrong. thanks so much for sharing
Some of these photographs were taken in Germany by Astrid Kirsherr (not sure of correct spelling) who also created their 'mop top' haircuts. The girlfriend of original bass player Stu Sutcliffe, Astrid never received as far as I know any monetary payment for the famous photos she took of their early days in Hamburg.
That blond haired guy grabbing Pauls hand at 1:22 was Rory Storm who died in 1972 the same day as his mother died, possibly from suicide or drug overdose. Rory Storm and the Hurricanes was the band the Beatles got Ringo from. Rory was a funny guy, Ringo always offered to help him record an album and get him well known but Rory always refused.
actually it wasn't written by Arthur Alexander...It was written by Buzz Cason and Tony Moon... I like this cover because of the Absolutely incredible harmonies that the Beatles added to the chorus
In the last picture that’s the famous white van that mal Evans knocked out the winsheild and they kept driving in freezing weather to next gig. That van took them all over England wonder where it is today.
The band is in great form here; awesome lead vocal by Lennon and some tremendous backing harmonies by McCartney and Harrison. Nice work on the hi-hat by Starr as well. Typical of Lennon's ability to invest so much emotion in his singing.
pure magic
One of my favorite songs from Live at the BBC. Thanks for sharing it.

This cover's as good as "Mr. Postman", and that's saying something!
