This is quite amazing. I am from India and I wasn't aware that the so called African communities thrive in India like this. But the most amazing thing that I found in the video was that no one had any discrimination against anyone. I was born is Ganeshgudi which is just few Kilometers from Halyal. I am familiar with Siddhis since childhood. They basically ended up on Indian coast as Portuguese brought them as slaves with them. But some of them were successful in escaping from slavery by running into forest. They stayed in forest itself. But over the years they became strong enough to establish their own kingdom in that part of the region. It’s called Siddi Kingdom with its head quarters at Janjira fort. It remains one of the only unconquered fort till India’s independence. They maintained friendly relations with almost all local kingdoms. Many local Kings had Siddhis as generals in their army. It’s fascinating to see that they still retain some of the African rituals and music influences even after centuries of mixing with local population. Now most of them speak Kannada and Marathi.
I told his sister Dee to do it when she was in India and she didn't even bother to reply. I told her it would help her views.
