- Official Simple Little Life video of making a rocket stove. A project I've wanted to do for several years and finally got around to it. Works well, and it produces a lot of heat for very little fuel used.

About Simple Little Life:
This channel has sort of turned (inadvertently) into a knife making channel. But the original idea behind what we wanted it to be is this description below:
Videos on our journey to homesteading. With a recent purchase of a little piece of the Alberta prairie, we're looking to sell our nice suburban home in search of a more meaningful life beyond chasing the "American dream" working for some big company and making someone else rich. It's not about the money, it's about getting the most value from the work I do to improving the life of my family.
Some preparedness, DIY, building quality things with your hands, guns, gear, and outdoor exploration.
Taking notes just an armchair enthusiast used to work with metal and tools. Glad you are enjoying your creation.
You clearly aren't afraid of hard work. Good job.
This is the best rocket stove I have seen. You even added the perlite inside
Good job
Wow. A tool that I never knew about and absolutely do not need but now feel that my life will not ever be complete without it.
The fast forward gave is a neat Peter Gabriel feel. Nice job!
Without a doubt, the manliest rocket stove build on RUclips. Outstanding
and sold in a garage sale for 10 dollars.
Fantastic editing. Best so far.
This guy doesn't fuck around! Way to go sir
haha, thank you very much! Cheers!

That band saw is a beast! I've heated my shop with a rocket stove for 5 years now, I used 2 Calor (butane) bottles. No going back. Great video, thanks.
I've watched 'What does the fox say?' about 100 times, I've watched every single video of the Ramones playing live on RUclips at least once, yet this is totally the best video I've ever watched. Totally brilliant.
haha well thank you very much. I'm glad you enjoyed it and really appreciate the compliment. Cheers!
I love this video. It is no nonsense and shows every step. Focus is on the process of construction.
Wow! That has to be the most elaborate rocket stove I've ever seen! Very nice, well done!
Thank you very much!
Your speeding up the video and respecting the time of the viewer, is greatly appreciated. And Excellent Work Sir.
No plans all in your head? I bow to you, amazing work!
Very nice, liked, thank you for sharing💐🍀🌈
heavenly vid....cutting, fitting, welding, painting, ironworking, sanding, and Bushcraft firemaking at the end!! Couldn't get any better! Most Excellent! thanks... :)
A perfect example of everything's possible with the right tools and if the right tools ain't working then the right back up tools. Great job man !
In awe of your workmanship. Respect.
Great video no talking no time wasting, he made every second count, very informative, thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much!
love to see somebody who know how to NAIL IT as u did Salute u from Australia ~
I'm just blown away by the creativeness in which he used his cordless band saw. Put it in a clamp on its side to use like a big band saw. Genius
I was a weldor in a shop for 17years. Really liked your belt sander very convenient and useful tool and using your portable bandsaw as a table saw genius. You had all the elements rate for a rocket stove especially the perlite which gives insulation around the combustion chamber to keep it really hot. Nice touch speeding it up gets the idea/design across without boring watchers.
I really enjoyed watching you in your trade zone building that stove. I don't have a "trade" per say but I love working with my hands building and fixing stuff.
Excellent work, design and video, chapeau! ❤
Thank you very much!
couldn't stop watching. great style of vid
Thanks!
I love the attention to detail.
Thank you
FANTASTIC THE WHOLE STORY NICE WORK I'M IMPRESSED
Thank you very much. Cheers!
all best bits with no wasted time...truly excellent presentation
Thank you!
Pratt & Whitney will be impressed with this stove
nice project! thanks for sharing!
May as well be a commercial for that darn band saw...that thing is pretty amazing!
Why would anyone downvote this? It's awesome!
I would normally want some narration, but you did this video so well it didn't need it.
+Dustin E thank you very much!
You're a true metal worker. Fantastic
Most of the rocket stoves I've seen are square or rectangular so it is refreshing to see yours as a tube. I look forward to making my rocket stove. Got a nice powerplasma cutter so making some of those rounded cuts will be quite easy.
Thank you! That sounds like a fun little project 👍
Gotta love "Tap Juice." Been working for a guy for years and he drills everything metal with a dry bit. I mention tapping fluid and I get Wrath!
Great video. Gotta like a guy that appreciates the value of someone's time and is a craftsman too. Other youtubers should be taking notes. I know I did.
Mad skills. Awesome equipment but skills are number one.
Best one iv seen so far 👍
Thank you 👍
Great video. A joy to watch the fast pace and it's nice to see the good quality of your rocket stove. I never realized the value of the hand held band saw before. Great tips.
Man ,I dont know where I'd be without my Mig welder. You certainly would be the guy to live next door to after the apocalypse.
hahaha!
kijiji
Pretty sure he could make a small boiler and steam engine to run a generator.
I want a mig welder they look handy
I don't suppose many people have the equipment or skill to make this. There are much simpler models around which a person with slightly above average metal working skill could make.
Haveing said that congratulations, it truly is rocket science.
One of the most awsome vids on youtube, across all categories. Well done Sir.
Man that looks heavy duty. One thing for sure though. If I didn't have my everlast plasma cutter I would have definitely borrowed one if I were you making this. Great job with the tools you had.
Thank you!
A fantastic piece of craftsmanship, thanks for sharing.
I want some of these super fast cutting tools you have! :)
Good work. Rocket stoves are a very important technology, so anything anyone can do to help people make them is good.
What a wonderful talent!
the next one that you billed weld the wood feed/inlet pointing up at a 30-45 degree angle. then the stove self feed the wood? just a little fyi 4-uother that that thank you for the porta band saw / table saw I'm going to use that one..
Marvelous fabrication skills. jealous as all get up.
thank you for teaching me how to build the stove... God bless you
I had a good laugh at the creative use of the vice/bandsaw. Absolutely brilliant!!!
Nice, Very Nice!!
Very cool. I love how you insulated it. I made one and made the fire box close to 45 degree angle up to make it self feeding. Your design is better though being insulated. Great work man, love it.
GENIUS!!! greetings from Argentina!!!!
everyones a critic.I reckon youve done a great job and you certainly know how to use your gear
Amazing! Fabrication at it's finest!
That is a very cool design.
WOW! That should last forever.
haha, yea.
Loved it! Thank you
You are a very talented craftsman who obviously pays a lot of attention to detail. This was a very interesting and educational video as well. Nice work. Thank you.
Ralph Mazzella scoo electrical free ruedas portable
Nice workmanship. I like the attention to detail and the quality of materials chosen for the build.
Very cool I was really impressed great job
If it’s steel you’re all over it. Man’s got some skills!
Diane Womble agree with u. It's masterpiece. One thing distracted, looks like it s prone to fall due to tall design.
Real stuff. Love it! Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely mesmerizing!
Nice job, looks very efficient use of wood. Amazing what you can build in a good workshop.
That is some equipment you have ! Nice video
Thanks. Comes in handy for sure:)
This is probably the coolest RUclips video I've seen. Thanks!
Thank you very much. Cheers!
Great stove and feather sticks
Great fab work . Great idea for my camping and fishing trips.
Looks like it works like a little champion....
Great DIY Vids!!! 👍
Man, it's a good job.......very, very good.
one of the best rocket stove vids on YT. Good job!
Great rocket stove. I will do this one at my home
Congratulations on your craftsmanship!
Thank you very much!
Great job! You did a hell of a lot of work to complete your stove. I'm a welder so appreciate what you did. I sure like your metal cutting saw.
Thank you very much! Cheers👍
best.diy.stove.ever.
haha. Thanks:)
This is awesome , wish I could get one !
Nice design and execution!
Useful workshop. Good job.
funny stuff, I like the whole time lapse affect, I'm a fabricator myself but I've never thought to make something like this.....nice job !
+bosun1724 thank you so much! Cheers👍
yummy project! a buddy of mine is a trapper, and he acted me to build him a drum stove for his homesteaders canvas tent. that thing might work better, and it's a lot smaller too.
That's cool. I wonder if it would be better not to insulate it though if it were to be used for heating space. I insulated it just so the stove pipe would get and stay hotter which induces a better draft and burns more efficiently. But that would be rad if you made one for him! You'll have to send me some pics if you do. Cheers buddy!
One of the best ones I've seen
+William Shaffer thank you!
Fabulous. That was very satisfying to watch.
Simply amazing. I want to make one right now. Thanks a lot for this video.
Thank you very much! Cheers!
A wonderful instruction video fast paced, informative and simple, good work with basic tools, smart guy.
Thank you very much!
Looks awesome
Can't imagine disliking this video. Great job, man !!
Hi from France :)
i like this design and maybe when your ready you can make the same one however place a copper coiled pipe inside with cold intake and hot out for hot water?
One of the best ones I've ever seen, well done.
Thank you very much!
That stove is a beauty! Nice job
Cool video - As I drive around I keep my eyes open for scrap metal to turn into my rocket stove.
Sounds like the wife in the background griping you ran out of acetylene. Great work. Thanks for putting this together.
Que herrero tan extraordinario!!!y con ese kit de herramientas, es lo máximo, felicitaciones!!!
Man you have some seriously cool tools, I never even heard of an electric hacksaw before!
Shelley Raskin that is a metal bandsaw but electric hacksaw is called a zaw saw
Thanks! Tools are my weakness:)
thoroughly impressed!!
Pretty nice, & she works!!
Thanks!
Excellent! Hugs from Brazil!
