  • Official Simple Little Life video of making a rocket stove. A project I've wanted to do for several years and finally got around to it. Works well, and it produces a lot of heat for very little fuel used.

    About Simple Little Life:
    This channel has sort of turned (inadvertently) into a knife making channel. But the original idea behind what we wanted it to be is this description below:
    Videos on our journey to homesteading. With a recent purchase of a little piece of the Alberta prairie, we're looking to sell our nice suburban home in search of a more meaningful life beyond chasing the "American dream" working for some big company and making someone else rich. It's not about the money, it's about getting the most value from the work I do to improving the life of my family.
    Some preparedness, DIY, building quality things with your hands, guns, gear, and outdoor exploration.

    I was a weldor in a shop for 17years. Really liked your belt sander very convenient and useful tool and using your portable bandsaw as a table saw genius. You had all the elements rate for a rocket stove especially the perlite which gives insulation around the combustion chamber to keep it really hot. Nice touch speeding it up gets the idea/design across without boring watchers.

    Most of the rocket stoves I've seen are square or rectangular so it is refreshing to see yours as a tube. I look forward to making my rocket stove. Got a nice powerplasma cutter so making some of those rounded cuts will be quite easy.

    I don't suppose many people have the equipment or skill to make this. There are much simpler models around which a person with slightly above average metal working skill could make.

    • @Simplelittlelife
      @Simplelittlelife  7 лет назад

      That's cool. I wonder if it would be better not to insulate it though if it were to be used for heating space. I insulated it just so the stove pipe would get and stay hotter which induces a better draft and burns more efficiently. But that would be rad if you made one for him! You'll have to send me some pics if you do. Cheers buddy!
