It makes me very happy to know that there are Shaolin Temples all over the world. I am old and have practiced both the marshal arts, and Zen for a long time. When I started my practices there was only one Shaolin Tempe and it was in China. I hope that in my next life that my karma will allow me to enter one of the temples as a monk.🙏
Actually with respect the best if you can reach enlightenment and wisdom calming mind by Chan wisdom and Bodhicitta Mahayana teaching of Emptyness on this present life even without must be born and learn in Shaolin my brother 🙂☺ You don't need to be born next life to learn in Shaolin, what you must start examines why you want to be learn there, what you seeking? Lifestyle or ego fullfiled? Chan Is Buddha teachings of truth of law universe Dharma.. And Chan is free because of Prajna Wisdom and emptiness of self , You already have healthy fit body because learn martila arts, and have basic Zen of awarnes.. Just learn more Buddhis principles teaching, meditate in relax, examine our minds. Just be good, not do the evil hings, examine and purified the mind. Today many teaching even on RUclips and English book whatever Theravada, Mahayana, Vajrayana, Find some Guru and Community to helped you learn and build your path.. All the Best, Or you even can visit some monastery and center, be volunteer there so can be learn and have good merrit and experience like how to living in monastery first then go to Shaolin with your family if your time and finance to see yourself, how is really Shaolin life from morning till night by your own eyes and how to applied in our daily life. If we don't understand the reason and essence, everything will be just ordinary rituals, or daily job routine without any meaning... 😌🙄😽

Great video! As a Wushu teacher and a Soto Zen practitioner I understand what you mean by Chan & Quan as a unity. That 's what I try to explain and teach to my students. That Wushu is more than just the physical aspect of the training, but the inner practice is very important too. Yin & Yang in a dynamic balance developing together. Thanks again Shifu 🙏
