I have NEVER seen a video so crystal clear like this, Now i just wish There was a camera to capture how strong the lighting is without washing out the actresses face
I'll never forget the time I saw this with my best friend... this is the last song before intermission and I was literally sobbing so hard that my friend had to take me to the bathroom and clean me up before the second act. I need to see this again so badly!
Say what you will about how this performance comes across, but do not judge how it is until see how it is as an audience member watching them live. This was only intended as promotional purposes. Audio equipment cannot pick up the clarity and strength these musicians have in their voices. No video can do justice to that. This production is one of the strongest I have seen and believe me, I have seen a few Wicked runs in my time
Wow I haven’t listened to this version is years and it still makes me cry! I hadn’t experienced a song giving me goosebumps until I saw this live! I won’t ever forget seeing it for the first time and how I had such an intense physical reaction, like my hairs standing up and goosebumps everywhere and uncontrollable tears I’ve never been so moved before in my life
Saw Wicked twice in Melbourne recently (I had to go a second time! It was that good!) with these two lovely performers. Both Jemma and Lucy were so absolutely outstanding that, at the end of the show, I had no option but to give them a standing ovation! Love hearing this song and love this duo performing, not only this song but the entire musical! :D
I saw this live a couple of months ago with my friend. It was amazing. Especially this part. We weren't meant to film, but I'm really glad you did! Now I get to listen to this whenever I want. Massive thanks to you uploader! 5 out of 5 stars!
I Had Seen Wicked Twice in Melbourne (2009 and 2014) and I Really Liked this Song from Act 1 Especially when I Saw Elphaba Levitate and Fly surrounded by Colourful Lights and Smoke the lights had greens and blues and yellows and purple colours to make it look very nice and the Smoke adds a nice touch to see the light beams better P.S also when I went to see Wicked for the 2nd time during this song I was shaking and I almost cried because I was about to Exprience the Spectacular Moment (Elphaba was going to fly ) I Really Liked it when Jemma who was Elphaba hitted that final note and Thrusted her Broom Up and the Blackout Occured in Which I Clapped and Cheered because it was Intermission Time
When it was friday I told my music teacher if I was alfaba and my friend was Glinda and my Bullys were the guards And my music teacher said "ask miss skip werth next year" So on Tuesday I'm going to ask her because I'm coming back home from Sydnay oh Monday
I would honestly give up body parts for a legitimate recording of the Australian performances.... Jemma Rix* and Lucy Durack do a way better job than the American cast in my opinion... * I am actually getting more and more convinced I saw Amanda Harrison when I saw it in Sydney.... either way they were both absolutely epic. Looking up Idina Menzel's version just isn't quite as good...
The Best Elphaba there ever was! Effortless. Flawless. No off notes!! I love how her high notes don't pierce through my ears! :)
I saw her as Elsa and she was just as good
So much control of her instrument. Incredibly talented musician!
I have NEVER seen a video so crystal clear like this, Now i just wish There was a camera to capture how strong the lighting is without washing out the actresses face
Jae Won Kwak thank you, u fictional character
Daniel Epps EXACTLY!!! i mean damn it's 2014 almost 2015, where does this exist?!?!?!
THRILLIFYING NEWS!!! SHE'S BACK!!! Jemma made a surprise return for WICKED back in Australia. She's doing selected shows coming up!!!
Saw Jemma in melbourne, I was absolutely speechless at how precise and powerful she is. Def giving Idina a run for her money!!
I saw this tonight and this was probably the most shiver-inducing moment of the whole show. Jemma's voice is fucking incredible!
Jemma is literally the best Elphaba there has ever been her notes are completely flawless and she gives me shivers!
Jemma is undeniably the best at this role out of all that have had it. Nobody comes close to her control and power in vocals.
Aaaah Jemma is a goddess!!! I can't wait to hear her SLAY Let It Go & Monster in Frozen later this year 😍
So proud to be Australian right now.
Got to see them again for the Wizard of OZ stage last week. They're an amazing duo.
I wish that Andrew lloyd webber kept the elphaba costume instead just like the original movie
I WISH the UK media was allowed to film like this! She sounds great!
I'd love a pro-shot like this of Nikki Davis-Jones and Emily Tierney
Saw the show last night in Perth- Lucy and Jemma KILLED IT. Absolutely amazing. Ps. Jemma did a better job than any other inc Idina. Aussie represent!
+slim25x totally agree, when i saw this with my bf, we both fell in love with their performances.... such incredible talent
Still slayed tonight in melb 🔥🔥
She has the best riffs in Defying Gravity and The Wizard and I!!
Best version in the world!

I was lucky to see Jemma back when she was the understudy in Melbourne - the best Elphaba by far!! Her vocal control was superb!!!!
I cannot believe she did not win a Helpmann Awards for this performance. She was nominated twice and missed out on both of them!!! She was robbed.
I saw this live today- even more breathtaking in real life! What a voice.
I've watched jemma when they had travelled for wicked in Manila and it brought me into tears on this scene. So lovely!
Same! But I am at Perth WA. :P
Jemma Rix is amazing
saw this yesterday and loved it. So much better live.
She is so amazing!
Nothing beats live though
This is amazing 😘😘❤️❤️Love u jemmarix rix

From the wicked witch to elsa... cant wait to see Jemma Rix as Elsa in October
I saw Jemma in Auckland 2013, she's amazing.
At first I was a big fan of Idina, but Jemma just killed it. Definitely my favorite Elphaba.

It was a press preview, so yes, they were allowed to record, in fact they were asked too for publicity!
Jemma is just 😍
Jemma still my fave 💚
Does anyone know Jemma Rix played Grinda at Universal Studio Japan???
awesome

Saw them live... no words
She needs to come to America and play Elphaba!
When it was friday I told my music teacher if I was alfaba and my friend was Glinda and my Bullys were the guards

So on Tuesday I'm going to ask her because I'm coming back home from Sydnay oh Monday
Jemma's too stunning!
they both have such unique voices compared to others who gave played these roles but they are amazing in the roles.
IS THERE A LEGIT RECORDING OF THIS?!?!? WHERE CAN I BUY IT???
Seriously the Aussie production was amazing I'd love to get it on DVD!
If you look closely, you can see the lift
Without a doubt, the BEST Elphaba!
I LOVE Jemma, she’s fabulous! Truly. However, I want to hear Sia sing Defying Gravity, even if only one time ever! She’d just SLAY IT!
you missed the first part ;^;
8 years later she would become Australia's elsa on Australia tour!!
The only elphaba to play both versions. One scarier like the original movie witch and a heroine
0_0 Wow
Its not that Lucy Durack is bad....its just she pales in comparison to Suzie Mathers.
I disagree, I think Lucy Durack IS bad. Can't stand her actually.
Haha yeah actually I think she is downright awful but didnt want to be mean lol :L
Dr Ben Kirk the sad thing is she would be pretty good if she didn't do that God awful character voice
I can't believe that the wizard of oz didn't cast suzie as glinda when jemma was elphie 2.0
I would honestly give up body parts for a legitimate recording of the Australian performances.... Jemma Rix* and Lucy Durack do a way better job than the American cast in my opinion...

Why didn’t she sing like this when she played Elsa??!!😢😢
@@BellalalaMay I know this isn’t Idina Menzel!! This woman (Jemma Rix) played Elsa in the Australian production of Frozen!!
why didn't jemma rix has no such power to sing defying gravity
The elphaba actress here is awesome but the Glinda fucking murdered it for me.
Oim the wunn yoo wont.. it moiiii... Aussie accent coming through real bad at that point (1:53)
I find Lucy Durack’s voice she put on for Glinda really just didn’t work
Effortless
