    My 2006 with cross climate tyres is unstoppable. The update in 2005 included subtle updates to the rear diff. Only half a wheel rotation of slippage bought the rear rear axle into play. Can be useful when pulling out of a junction an a wet road.

    Being a honda of course they are a quality product. They seem to handle off road pretty well, but what are like in soft sand? Isnskip point for example. Im sure you've all seen bogged at inskip point. Thanks

    • @OutOfTheWay4x4
      @OutOfTheWay4x4  Год назад +2

      They can dig out of the sand, but the 4wd is better in the sand. It also depends on the width of the wheels and the type of tyres. Standard wheels dig into the sand easily. In this video we are also driving through sand (5:45) , so you can see something there..🙂

    could you explain a little.
    So the M version climbs steep hills better than AT , because AT lacks power?
    Also, the AT had some serious tyres compared with M, but did not see much difference in driving between the two?
    Which one would you recommend going for (pros and cons) - M or AT?
    Also one last - Im concerned about buying the 2nd gen (even though I like it the most out of 3g and 4g) because of old age related problems. Could you comment on that please? How does 2g compare to 3g in reliability.
    Sorry for too many questions and would VERY MUCH appreciate if you could comment.

    • @OutOfTheWay4x4
      @OutOfTheWay4x4  Год назад +1

      Hi..It depends where the car will be driven..If only on the road, I probably wouldn't put the AT. It's a rougher tyre and consumption always goes up a bit 0,5-1 litre...I drive all year round on AT Yokohama Geolandar GO15..I drive road, off road and they are also suitable for snow. These are excellent with the price being unbeatable. Regarding the video - I'm sure the AT's are more suited to that kind of terrain.. back then the other car was an automatic, I don't know if that had an effect..The hill is extreme and if the car catches the wrong track it doesn't come up. Definitely buy a car you like better..I've now got a 2nd gen CRV that is in better condition than a lot of other 3 and 4 gen..Must take a while to find. The 2 gen is a great car..Buy a petrol version with low mileage and check the chassis so it's not rusty..Check out other videos, there are plenty on the channel already..I have a video comparing the 2 and 3 gen.

      @@TikNenutraukNothing to apologize for, I guess I was reading too fast 😆 Well at first we thought the automatic was not able to pick up the necessary revs quickly..But this friend later drove it up with this automatic. On the other hand I have another CRV now with a manual transmission and it didn't go up a week ago..(see my last video). I guess it depends on the current surface and also how the car picks up the track..

    These engines are durable. I knew of one 2L that had not been servived in 3yrs, was involved in an accident and driven in mountains daily. It never broke down. Not once. Though the fuel consumption was terrible. 350km to the tank.
    How many kilometres are you getting to the tank???
    Thinking of getting one for myself

    • @OutOfTheWay4x4
      @OutOfTheWay4x4  Год назад +2

      It is an excellent engine...The rule is to change the oil after 10 thousand km and every 15 thousand km to have the valves adjusted...On one tank you can drive about 650 km and sometimes more...It depends on the road and driving style.

    • @OutOfTheWay4x4
      @OutOfTheWay4x4  2 года назад

      @@kostananchev3366 The difference is that a manual gearbox can get the engine up to speed faster than an automatic. And that's handy for short distance hill starts... :) The automatic is more comfortable for normal driving. But if I want to use the engine to its maximum potential, I'd rather have a manual. No problems with the clutch...I'll hit the brake and clutch on a steep downhill. Or I use the handbrake. For this case, it's perfectly positioned next to the steering wheel.

      Ahoj, já teď přemýšlím o pořízení LR Discovery 2..CRV je opravdu jen do lehčího terénu. Před týdnem jsem byl jezdit s kamarádem co má stejně staré Subaru Forester s redukcí.. Neměl jsem absolutně šanci. CRV je úžasné a kvalitní auto, ale fakt jen pro silnici a lehčí terén..Video se Subaru Forester teď stříhám..Brzy je sem dám. Takže lift asi dělat nebudu..V té světlé výšce problém není. Spíše, že to nemá redukci a tím pádem chybí výkon. A u Forestera je to 4x4 taky úplně jiné. Ale jinak je CRV perfektní auto.

The other thing is that it's definitely more challenging to climb hills at the limits of this car's capabilities than it is to run down a dirt road and splash around in the engine bay and all the chassis cavities. My opinion 😉
