Yes, I agree. Too many are overstuffed with things. Yet it looks unfinished. Some like the wood look, but I personally think raw wood always looks like the carpenter got called away in the middle of a job.
Awesome use of the entire space, the utility windows in the back open it up and the storage areas are outstanding! The bed is also cool and can be used as a couch too!
Your van is laid out really nice, but would be cool, eventually get a HI-Top as it gets old not being able to stand up in my opinion.. Thanks for the tour.. What a cute little dog... Good luck in all your adventures and with your channel. I love to fish too but I do it from my kayak. I live permanent in a 28 foot converted construction trailer. However I have a six car garage on my property as well.. I only wished I was as organized as you....
Nice build, I like the angled side cubbies. Flip up side panel seems pretty cool too. I'm in mpls, I'll have to keep my eye open for fleet vehicles like that. Never seen those. Safe travels.
the cabinets under the bed are legendary my mind cracked open once i released that its one large drawer split in the middle so it won't fall out amazing job on the van so many ideas from this van thank you so much for the tour.
I have a '94 G10 Chevy Van and LOVE it.. I took the cab divider and metal shelf unit out to make as much space as possible.. like my kayaks, I don't like to overload/crowd.. defeats the whole purpose.. I have a 5.5' x 10' trailer and 20 rolling plastic trunks.. I'm leaning toward an organized, "as needed" system.. I have been collecting camping equipment so I wouldn't be staying in the van all the time.. I just want a mobile, practical mancave.. 😎😁
I agree w/ some of the other commenters that this is one of the better conversions I've seen for a Chevy Express. Thanks for the fairly thorough review of your van ~ very cool!
Thanks for the tour. Such an efficient use of space; it would make a sailor blush! Perhaps Mr. T2 will incorporate lightweight carbon fiber construction. (I happen know a guy...)
I realize your videos been out for about a year however, I found it very interesting very simple really nice. It's one of the best I've seen and I've been at this for 20 years.
I know Eureka, CA very well. I lived in Crescent City, CA most of my life. Nice van, simple setup. Utilitarian. Sharing this video with a future van-dweller.
What a great home, I love it! I've literally watched hundreds of videos on nomadic/tiny/skoolie/van living and I've never seen those pop out utility panels, those are magic!! lol Just think of all the things you could do; I love to cook so I see a potential food truck that one can also live in. Or think of those bump outs ppl put in their vans to add a few inches so they can sleep east-west rather than north-south; these are bump out 2.0s!
Smart and functional layout, excellent job! Also loved the wood floor and blanket, nice design features. You have all the basics covered, and good use of storage place. Sweet dog too! Please get a bucket toilet, its very useful. I would put a rubber flap in front of the inverter so no water gets in. That's a costly mistake! When I travel and its cold, I use a beanie cap on my head. 50% of your blood is in the head, so cover it up to stay warm. If you are sick, try Source Naturals Wellness. Its all natural and will kick out anything you have in 12 hrs or less. You will never get sick if you take this, a life saver! All natural herbal mix. Please don't say 'Um' so many times, bad speech habit. Your voice is lovely and easy to listen to, but too many Ums makes it hard to listen to. I used to join Toastmasters sessions and it helped polish my speech. Next van - high top! World of difference standing up and being able to store your bikes under your bed. Its cooler for the dog too. Happy travels, and thanks a lot for sharing! Loved it!!
VERY COOL, I am also from the Twin Cities Metro Area, and I will be taking off in my Camper Van this spring to the South West, Nice to see another MN Vanner, lol, Which means we are automatically way more AWESOME than anyone else from anywhere OUTSIDE of MN, lol.
This has to be one of the best van tours on RUclips. Love when you say "your going to have to see my butt". Hope you're better soon and have fun on you,re travels.
You Can buy a shroud for the top side of the Fantastic fan to protect it from the elements while driving. Basically it allows you to crank the top of the fan up and it is still protected while allowing air through. I have had a vent top blow off in the wind on a trailer I was pulling even though the cover was cranked down and installed in the correct direction. They sell them at RV parts stores. Very nice simple and elegant build, especially those pop-up back panels!
Very pretty inside! Airie and bright and pretty wood color! Looks cozy and comfortable! Great job! Nice set-up! Good travels! *'Keep-On-A-Rocking-N-A-Rolling'* :) *lasa*
Thanks for sharing! I have that same van, and although will be using it to travel for bike excursions.. I'll also be using it as a mobile 'bike' shop. Who knows, maybe shop will eventually move into the van. Safe travels!
Your pup is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo adorable and I love your van build I am in the process of doing one my self and you gave me some really killer ideas hope to run into you this summer me and my daughter are hitting the road
I have a GMC Savanna conversion van Explorer, it’s beautiful inside and I can make/do some of your additions without major destruction to the van. I like the cooler idea and the camper stove although I take my Goal Zero 3000 lithium battery (purchased for home use) when traveling. Thank you for your inspirational tour.
Sorry to tell you this but the "Access Panels" on the sides was a FACTORY available option and was very sought after but was not an aftermarket add on.just an FYI.. You rarely ever see them come up for sale and they are great for resale although not ideal for van life as they are not very secure..they can be made to be more secure but from the factory they aren't too hard to enter.. They were very popular among tradesman and plumbers to reach in and grab small parts from interior bins..
Nice setup. I was biting my lip waiting to see the curtain setup and just when I thought it was time, it was already over xD. It looks so simple and efficient, but i cant figure it out!
Did you mean you have a carbon monoxide detector? Carbon monoxide is a consideration with burning propane. If you meant CO, then your detector is in a great place. Carbon monoxide is lighter than air, so your high placement of the detector is great. I had a CO detector in a cabin actually go off once. I got out and opened everything up so fast! If you did actually mean carbon dioxide, then your detector should be placed low. CO2 is about 1.5 times heavier than air, so it will sink to the floor. I LOVE your rig. It’s simple and you have everything you need. Nice design.
my suggestion as well, buy a roll of screen at the local Lowes/HomeDepot and use magnets since you have so much metal exposed, or Velcro trape..You can have a screen for the 'French door's' , the driver and passenger windows, and the flip out windows too. The first time you came where there is an over abundance of flies or mosquitos you will be happy you have screens.
I am in Mpls. also. I've been shopping for a Ford Transit cargo van for months. Hard to find affordable ones because they are new to the U.S. They have been sold in Europe since the 60's.
Hey Kate B! Sorry, As you can see I don't look through these comments often. I must have turned off the notifications. I simply just searched Craigslist over a month+ and fell onto this! I lucked out it was in my state although not lucky on the rust bits ;)
Nice van build. Get bug screen because they are out there just waiting for a worm night. Just spent 6 days in Utah a bit cool at 9 thousand feet but fantastic. Then down to Arizona for the RTR. Travel Long And Tread lightly
A real woman in van life for a change!!!!
Great Van love!!!
Be Well
I love those drawers that you can access from either side of the van, and making one a table top to cook outside is great .
Clean and simple..it doesn't have that "Hoarder on Wheels" look
Yes, I agree. Too many are overstuffed with things. Yet it looks unfinished. Some like the wood look, but I personally think raw wood always looks like the carpenter got called away in the middle of a job.
Very nice build. Simple, tons of storage. Have fun traveling!
FINALLY, a conversion with the exact van I have. Thank you!
Great space. Love the door organizer, the bed system, the utility panels, and your little kudu, Rolo.
Awesome use of the entire space, the utility windows in the back open it up and the storage areas are outstanding! The bed is also cool and can be used as a couch too!
This is one of the best van tours I have seen!
Your build is the most down to earth for someone like me with minimal skills :) Simple and works!
Nice rig! Really like the side windows - with no-see-um screens, they'd be perfect.
Very very nice layout, simple and practical. Thank you for sharing.
Nice build I have a van that I'm trying to build out so thanks sis for the ideas. Van life 👍
AMAZING conversion all the way! And thanks to your brother for filming!
Fantastic build! Thanks so much for sharing your amazing home. ❤️☀️🙏✌️
Love your little dog. My little Ripley went to Rainbow Bridge in October, 2018. I'm thinking of a Chevy Express too.
Mike
a VERY smart design. I wish you much success on your journey - stay safe and thank you for sharing your tiny home on wheels.
I’ve been looking for a less cumbersome way to push a bed up to like a couch. This idea is genius. Thank you!
Your van is laid out really nice, but would be cool, eventually get a HI-Top as it gets old not being able to stand up in my opinion.. Thanks for the tour.. What a cute little dog... Hope to be getting a van in a few weeks.. thanks for the ideas.
My favs are the pull out panels on the outside and the bed itself!
I have a '94 G10 Chevy Van and LOVE it.. Really like chevy vans but miss the high roofs of fords and pro-masters. The blanket is lovely, very colorful. Thanks for sharing your build.
Nicely done and love the organization 👏❤
I love your van. That utility opening is amazing. I’m wandering why I’ve never seen one before.
Pretty rare. It is a gm factory option. It is called a access van
Functional and well organized. I really dig the low bed height.
I agree w/ some of the other commenters that this is one of the better conversions I've seen for a Chevy Express. Thanks for the fairly thorough review of your van ~ very cool!
Minnesotan here also! 🙌
Pop out windows, what a great idea 🤗
All you need is the screens, perfect 👌
Mr. T is awesome! I'm building out a GMC Savana right now. I wish I had those fold-out panels too!!!
Great job on the build, I might steal some of your ideas for my Chevy. The bed side compartments are definitely going in!
Like the van and it looks very comfortable. Ty for the share
Very nice job. I just did a makeover on my van: more sleeping space and AC
Thanks for the tour. Such an efficient use of space; it would make a sailor blush! Perhaps Mr. T2 will incorporate lightweight carbon fiber construction. (I happen know a guy...)
2 side open windows are everything ..came with..awesome...great build..
I realize your videos been out for about a year however, I found it very interesting very simple really nice. It's one of the best I've seen and I've been at this for 20 years.

In central Mn , building express van , added high top , like your shelves . Missed a pair of tip out panels in Red Wing , they look handy
I like the simplicity of your van.
Very impressive! Everything thought out and functional. Bon voyage! - michigan

Great set up👍
Great thorough tour! Thank you.
In winter pail might come in handy during an ice storm or blizzard
really like the layout of the van. you did a great job.
Inverter not converter. I love your van, I'm building my own and love how you did stuff.
Thanks for sharing! I have that same van, and although will be using it to travel for bike excursions.. I'll also be using it as a mobile 'bike' shop. Who knows, maybe shop will eventually move into the van. Safe travels!

Terra I really like your build Smart, solid , simple...Maybe put ice in plastic container to drink when A l m o s t melted Gary..
Awesome and those pop out panels are a great feature hard to find nowadays. Maybe consider putting some netting to keep the bugs out. Lovely work

you could make pullouts for the side winows to go above the bed and still have lots of room
Nice. Noticing the series of van utility techture is in the brutalist stages.
Sweet van! Stay safe sweetie!
Nice van build. Get bug screen because they are out there just waiting for a worm night. Just spent 6 days in Utah a bit cool at 9 thousand feet but fantastic. Then down to Arizona for the RTR. Travel Long And Tread lightly
awesome setup
