I live in China and there are lots of fake racquets. I had a fake Head Speed MP for 20USD. It is so cheap I just had to buy it to see. I found the fake one is extremely head heavy. This makes sense as there are more materials in the head so unless you do a proper balance on the lower beam, you cannot get it head light. So this is the first sign of a fake. Others are well demo. In this video.

I live in China. I’ve got 2 fake Wilson BLX Blade 98s. They feel great and I play with them all the time. Best rackets I’ve ever used. My guess is that the frame is genuine and produced in the same factory. You are definitely right about the butt caps coming loose right away. I had to glue them back on. Also some paint details were the big giveaway that the rackets aren’t genuine.

Its actually pretty easy to identify fakes once it’s in your hands. One of the biggest giveaways is the weight. Fake racquet are poor quality and usually weigh much much less than the real ones. Also once you start hitting you can sense the fakes ones feel hollow and flimsy.

Fake rackets are still being made. Didn't know that. About 15 years ago I got a pair of Aero Drive on ebay and then the local stringer told me that they were fake because as soon as the string tension were applied on them, they apparently bent. Then I had to go through the whole process of arguing with the ebay seller for the refund. I lost money on the string jobs though.

I actually bought the pro staff on wish and have been testing it out in March 2020. Biggest giveaway is of course the weight. The difference was around 50 gramm less on the counterfeit racquet compared to the real one. Not gonna lie I loved playing with the counterfeit since it was easier to use and I had way more fun than with the original.
