And I agree; his character in Battle Royale most likely wouldn't have been half as good without this problem.

you don't always need to follow what's in the book or manga, I actually like the fact film makers sometimes make some changes to the movie adaptions. that way, even though they're adaptions from a book or something else, the movie versions will still have a bit of originality of their own.

当然だけど会見とかもやってるよな。当時公開してヒットしてから知った立場からすると、いきなり現れていきなりヒットして完結した映画で、この映画の世界観にそれ以外の前も後も無いイメージだったから今この映像を見て感慨深い気持ちになっている。
