One of my favourite drummers. Great feel and a real graceful technique. I think he was an endorsee with yamaha but now has moved to gretsch and in this video he using the new gretsch 'Brooklyn' series kit. (in reply to 'skateofmind6').
Good morning Keith this song is great and I really enjoy your tasty drums. I have a question about your recording gear. What audio interface are you using and how many mics on the kit? Thanks a lot Joann Blondin Montreal drummer, Music teacher
i felt the same way, especially about how he barely has the stick in his left hand, but it seems to work for him. saw him on tour with john mayer and was completely blown away. theres no right or wrong technique for drumset players... only does it work? or does it not work? that weird traditional grip works for him, more power to him.
Wow, I can't believe all the shit talk on the tune. It's a good song...and very much in line with a lot of the music Keith plays. I think it should be a requirement that all detractors must post a link to their own compositions so we can see how superb their own writing is.
You'll never see that, and you wanna know why ? It's cause they're all a bunch of disgruntled, basement dwelling, wanna-be drummers who wouldn't know decent music if it fell on their ignorant, and feeble minded heads..In short, they're all pussies who talk shit because that's all they know and it's who they truly are.. Shit...
hihat and cymbal stand still from Yamaha, or Gretsch doesnt produce hardware (by Gibraltar hardware) so Carlock still use Yamaha hardware? or is Yamaha Club Custom? because in his DVD drum from hudson, Carlock use Yamaha direct drive pedal, not dw9000
LOLL he's like : "I know it's my wife's song but F-that I'm a crazy drummer i'll do a solo at the end" and then he goes on for 2 minutes without music. I hope it's on his wife's CD, would be so funny
Yeah, well things get weird- Love his playing with Oz Noy--- but stuff like this is odd- Like his wife wrote a song which is pretty average and he plays drums on it but really it's like a song to showcase the drummer even though it's supposed to be a lovey song but we don't really care about the song very much because it's super average so let's let the drummer play and overplay basically anything he wants to on the recording....... and we'll call it music because anything goes in music land- right?
Beautiful sound, great drumming and execution, I am so glad that this people exist and I have the privilege to listen...
I'm a huge fan of Keith's drumming, but his wife's voice is pure silk. What a great song!
Keith's left foot has to be the most underappreciated limb in professional drumming.
Come on Keith, she's your wife. The least you can do is put the snares on for her!
I enjoy how Carlock spends NO time twerlling his sticks around his hands... he just Does The Do on every song he plays
Cause he's not a boy. He lets his music talk with no smoke and mirrors crap. MANY RUclips drummers should take notes on that.
What a feel!
Great Carlock!! Big Sound...great Job and Nice music!
This is my favorite groove even to listen to
That was everything I wanted and more.
Top class groove.
Keith, great work. You're one of the best in all fields of drumming. I hope to play tabla with you sometime.
That was sweet!
Love this groove so baddd!!
EXCELLENT!!!!
going crazy sacando el patron
Awesome!
you´re monster man, awesome groove !
I think the drumtrack fits seamlessly with the rest. And the ending was made for a little drumming madness.
Nice groove on the verses! very inspiring!!!

best cymbal phrasing and musicality yet... :D
muito bom..fantastico
they make some of the best stereo isolation headphones and he endorses them. i guess he was using the beats to hear his kit sound over the headphones.
great interpretation...
interesting right hand ... But does anyone know what brand set he plays? thing is beautiful.
godd job ;)

Biden voted for Trump!!!!!!!!
i get it now. I'm in idiot, lol!
Am I the only one who doesn't gives a sh*t about what kind of sticks is he using? I just like the drumming
he's in a studio, they were probably provided for him
Lynne is Keiths wife.. ;)
yes, husband and wife.
hihat and cymbal stand still from Yamaha, or Gretsch doesnt produce hardware (by Gibraltar hardware) so Carlock still use Yamaha hardware? or is Yamaha Club Custom? because in his DVD drum from hudson, Carlock use Yamaha direct drive pedal, not dw9000
Gretsh :-)
purty song, sounds like a John Mayer toon, but only... with a pretty girl singing a John Mayer toon.
there is at least one Gretsch drumhead on the floor 16', would be bad advertising for Remo ;-)
does anyone know how i can get this track without the drums?
Should be a video for Remo heads instead of Vic firth.
Is Lynne Keith's wife? Or are the last names a coincidence?
Yeah!
It's all about the money. You couldn't tell the difference without seeing the kit.
What should he use instead?
can anyone name the far left cymbal please?
MforMetalhead66 I'm assuming you mean the one right above his hi-hats.. Zildjan K, looks about 18 or 19". He loves the crash rides..
looks like a 17" K special dry crash
Vic Firth.. It's a Vic Firth video
Like he reads these post and if anyone cares.
I think that's more of a computer issue, maybe due to the videocard or something
4:36 - 4:45 is delicious!
What the heck does that mean?
No more Yamaha?
Haha I guess he couldn't leave that part of Yamaha behind! Gretsch doesnt have hardware though, and Yamaha hardware kinda kicks major ass..
Wow....Did Keith lose weight?
Gretsh with Yamaha Hardware? oh that hilarious...
LOLL he's like : "I know it's my wife's song but F-that I'm a crazy drummer i'll do a solo at the end" and then he goes on for 2 minutes without music. I hope it's on his wife's CD, would be so funny
I really like your drumming.... but you hold your sticks in the weirdest way :o
IDK look's like it though... LOL
Yeah, that's kinda odd..
i like his yamaha set better.... because my drum teacher has them
how so? gretsch don't make hardware, and yamaha make some of the best hardware (especially light hardware) in the world.
npe he is gretsch artist...i think gretsch are better for him...
the bass in Beats is over embellished, perfect for drums sometimes..
why the hell is he using beats...
Not really, it sounds good to me.
but why beats?
