Hello, I just want to start by saying thank you guys for being a light in this world. Your saying great things but I have to comment on something I thought was wrong. I need to defend us single folk lol. So you mentioned that single people are single because their foundation in Christ is not solid (1:17). I have to say no. Marriage is not a determining factor for maturity. Spiritual maturity is actually based on bearing fruit and becoming more like Christ. I’ve seen some single people who are more on fire for Jesus... even more on fire than married people. Also, there are some single people who are led by God to be single. I think what determines whether a single person will get married is God’s timing and God’s will. If getting married is in God’s will for you then God knows the right time. Marriage is just another gift from God to lead us closer to Christ. It’s not the end all be all. As a single person, if I attained to be married in order to have a solid foundation in Christ or validate my foundation, I’m missing the point. Im already married in Christ. I said yes to Him the day I gave my life to Him. Jesus is my heavenly bridegroom until my earthly one comes (but I’ll always be married to Christ either way). I love you guys and keep preaching the gospel. Just had to say this.

I get asked sometimes why I’m single and I don’t know what to say. I find it hard to give a clear reason. Ultimately, only God knows. After giving my life to Christ in 2013, God has taken me through challenge after challenge to refine me. I don’t know when I’ll ever be “ready” for marriage or when my foundation will be “strong enough”. I’ve heard that being close to Christ is the best I can do and that’s what I’m doing. Regardless, I want to please God whether I’m married or not. My heart is having a solid foundation in Christ but it’s not solely for marriage... I’m building my solid foundation for the youth and children in my church. I’m a Youth Pastor. I treat and care for them as if they were my own. I’m also building my solid foundation for my family too. My parents own the church so they need help a lot. I agree with what you were saying in the video, marriage is not possible without God. In the body of Christ, I feel marriage is often idolized. There is a temptation for Christian singles to feel “less than” just because they are not married. I’m still subscribed and look forward to your videos. We need more Christian RUclipsrs. I know many were blessed by this video.
I totally agree with everything you said and I honestly felt you were very kind and respectful in your last response - not harsh at all! I specifically have been in a place in my walk where I wanted to meet my husband and still had a lot of maturing to do spiritually before the Lord brought him into my life. I’ve seen others in a similar place so that’s all I was referencing in that comment. I know you said that you like to spend time with him without an agenda, but what does that look like to you? I feel like I am kind of stuck right now, and could use some tips.
In short form, pursue Him, His presence. We love to listen to some good worship music throughout the day and we pray in the spirit throughout the day as well. Reading the Bible can sometimes be hard to shut everything off and have quiet time but if you can set goals for reading time that will help! It gets so much easier when you find a routine that works for you. (A time you set aside every day to work on your relationship with the Lord.) ♥️♥️

Hi, I’m 21 and married. My husband and I grew up into two different forms of Christianity. I (COGIC/Pentecostal) him (church of Christ) . It didn’t matter at first, but now I’m ready to surrender myself to God. We’re so opposite on everything, and he still wants to live a “party life”. I grew up in the church, and I yearn for that soulmate that can help me grow with God like my parents have. My mom told me to keep praying for him.. I don’t know what to do.

I especially loved how you answered the male and female role in the household. I have watched how Christian men can abuse control and not allow their wives to help make decisions or have an options. I think of lot of Christian men are afraid of the rise of feminism so they feel like they need to make sure they keep themselves in charge and not make room for that when a lot of us Christian women aren’t even concerned about feminism. We just want our voice and to make decisions with our husband as A TEAM!!!! I love how Dave you said that when you both have different options, you work until you have a compromise. That is amazing and I wish my parents did that. But I will say that it’s like having Vice President and president, it seems that one person has to end up making the final call. But I love how you worded the compromise thing. You discuss until you come up with a compromise so both opinions are validated.
