    Dude, even The Beatles used a version of drum samples, When they would be deep into the track, the drums would start to fade a bit because of how many times they would combine and bounce tracks together, they would record an extra snare track only, to get it back a bit.

    Just love the intro! Hey buddy...I'm one of those guys!!
    You made me laugh...you really did.
    Colt, I am way over 45......but as a humble old one-man-band.......doin gigs in little bars/restaurants.... squeaking away on my clarinet..honking on my sax...my right hand thinks it's Oscar Peterson on the keys..left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing...I tootle my flute...and I croak out old Sinatra tunes with a smokers cough.
    Been re-doing my old GM midi/Sound Canvas tracks with VST's etc..........and for my drummer......I am using "Orange Tree (free)Samples - Funk kit".......in "Sitala" a free sampler.
    So it would appear that I am catching up!!
    Oh!...the Beatles?? I saw George Martin in the mixing room....(through that ominous glass divide)..chatting to the lead singer, as I was setting up my kit.
    He wasn't involved in the production, hell he owned the place........but strangely enough.....when the (unsuccessful) single was released....I had been replaced with a Linn Drum!!!
    Red beans and lentils from Kaapstad.

    Amazing content thank you!! So when you have that new aux track of the original snare and sample snare blended, acting as your singular snare track, do you then include that new aux snare in your drum group and remove the two other snare tracks? Like if you were to do drum bus mixing, would that new aux track be included in that bus excluding the other two tracks, or are all three tracks included to the bus and whatever plugins you use to mix the drums is happening to all three?

    Thanks for great video! Using samples from the same drumkit is a really good idea )
    I have one question: snare can have different sounds like center hit, side hit and rimshot. If I have a standart ta-ga-ta-ga drum break, first and third hits are side or rimshot, second and fourth are senterhits. If I have sample in parallel - it cancels the difference in the sound of the snare. If I mute the sample and compensate by volume - the snare sounds thinner during the break.
    So what is a correct solution in such situation?

Also, the more I listen back to my favourite 80's tones, tell me you don't suspect a sample on some of those snares? Dokken, Motley Crue etc... that snare sounds pretty damn consistent and perfect each hit. What I hate now is the quantization and the snare sounding like it is a tom. Add that to the loudness wars and it just makes for fatigue and no spark.

    • @tomman7729
      @tomman7729 2 года назад

      @@eddiecarrizales sure, the Trigger plugin doesn’t add any phase, due to delay compensation, but when you do EQ moves to a parallel track in this sort of way, it adds delay to the trigger signal, which turns the two tracks out of phase with each other at some points.
