Goodness, I feel like I've found my people - Malina was always the only ship that made sense to me for Alina's endgame. Darklina is dark and toxic and Nikolai has nothing on Mal's history with Alina. These two are soulmates and deserve everything good together. I hope Netflix gives this show a season 3, and we see the two of them come back together ❤️

Did you read the books? Darklina is not your cute “enemies to lovers” trope. Darklina portrays abuse, manipulation, control, and toxicity. But if you’re into that kind of thing, then I guess you can continue to ship them

I can’t stand darklina shippers. Maybe it’s because I’m a book reader, and I know how manipulative, abusive, and toxic the Darkling really is- which, you know, I suppose nothing will beat the all-to-popular enemies to lovers trope featuring a conventionally attractive male counterpart. Mal has always loved and cared about alina in so many different ways (although this show mal is kind of a huge variation on book mal). Either way, there’s not any toxicity between mal and alina.
I see a lot of people saying they see too much of a sibling dynamic between mal and alina (they’ve clearly never read the books, which is fine)… and it’s honestly astonishing to me that the only thing that builds “tension” for a romantic relationship to some of you guys is toxicity and manipulation.
darklinas are actually self-inserts bc they like/ want the darkling to themselves. they don't care about alina LMAOO

Good siblings, best friends forever...Why not stop there if there is no real passion. Besides, each of them are not particularly loyal to each other.

First season I was like "maybe" and second season it's kind of weird seeing them together. There is no romantic/sexual chemistry. It looks forced.
Chemistry is mostly subjective.

@@wrenshields9741 oh i agree. But chemistry itself is subjective. For example, you may say that this ship has zero chemistry whereas there are plenty of others who disagree vehemently (myself included).
I didn't feel it was forced. There were some awkward moments when it came to sex, but I think it was because they've been friends for so many years and care about each other so much, that they're afraid of the other one thinking they want the other just for sex. It's different because there's a lot more than attraction between them. There're physical and intelectual attraction, but between them there's mostly emotional attraction. It's not just a sexual tension chemistry; that's more a Darklina thing; you might like in ships more with one or the other, but I personally think both Malina and Darklina have chemistry, it's just different for each relationship, because they have very different relationships with her.
@@eli243lg4 I can somewhat agree. But the more I watch them together the more I feel icked. Like maybe long list siblings are trying to be more intimate with each other. Obviously not the real cade but that's what it feels like to me.
I'm more pulled in by passion. Even if it's toxic like with Kirigan. Where as with mal and Alina it feels so ..forced.
