Actually if you hear the piece carefully you'd be able to hear that harmonics being played perfectly. It sounds more clearer on headphones of courses but it is very much audible without it as well.
16 second -21 seconds is just an absolute blend of sweeps harmonics and fingerpicking all in one at the speed of just straight shredding. Dude is an absolute master

As a gutar player i fully see myself in his position just practicing a peice over and over and over again while trying to film it. and, restarting the recording on each little mistake. Eventually you get angry and do what i call a whiplash (for reference watch wiplash from 47:51) and just fkn bash my guitar (not destryong it) and eventually switching to my bed and pillows and punching them. I have tried in my guitar studies to learn songs from classical guitar, heavy metal and jazz. Mad respect to this guy playing one of, if not the hardest peice know to any guitar player.

maybe not your style... but its not too uncommon for musicians in a prog band to all be good. Every member in periphery can write and play very technically. Same with every member in Haken, as well as Animals as leaders.
I urge anyone to try learning both guitar parts or even just programming them into music software, it’ll increase your appreciation for each piece 10 fold. There’s no Tim without Scottie, and there’s and Scottie without Tim, the best guitar duo of our time!

everytime i try to find a tutorial on playing god i usually end up realizing that there's just something missing at various parts of the riff and the realization that even the smaller fills can make such a big impact is just incredibly humbling. not that i needed to be humbled much cause i'm still just kinda starting out

Ibanez has too many production issues right now that they need to fix before they go and release a whole new line of guitars. Ever since the pandemic the qc has been worse and guitars are taking way longer to manufacture. I’m still waiting for the q series to become available and those “came out” well over half a year ago.

virtuoso instrumental music is very difficult to make accessible while retaining the searing brilliance it needs to stand out, historically speaking. there are a very bare handful of guitarists in each generation that CAN achieve that balance, and precious few get mainstream attention. what you guys are doing and how you are doing it only the very best can pull off. and the cheeky ease with which you do it is the seasoning. well done, very well done indeed. bravo.
When this song came out I bought a guitar and just started playing again for the first time in 10 years. My goal is to be able to play both parts of this song in a year. I don't know how realistic that goal is, but thanks for the inspiration either way. I love these playthroughs.
If ur an advanced guitar player that's been playing for years you can play it. Tho if you stopped just polish it up first and re learn the basics, intermediates and advanced playing. You'll get in short amount of time since you played back then. It depends on a person tho. Some people can learn song quick but in my case i can play a Heavy Metal with riffs and insane solos for a week or two. Vai and Instrumental songs for a month to 2 months. You'll get it done. Just practice the song slowly. Right now i can play the song, but not perfectly.

When this song came out I bought a guitar and just started playing again for the first time in 10 years. My goal is to be able to play both parts of this song in a year. I don't know how realistic that goal is, but thanks for the inspiration either way. I love these playthroughs.

If ur an advanced guitar player that's been playing for years you can play it. Tho if you stopped just polish it up first and re learn the basics, intermediates and advanced playing. You'll get in short amount of time since you played back then.
It depends on a person tho. Some people can learn song quick but in my case i can play a Heavy Metal with riffs and insane solos for a week or two. Vai and Instrumental songs for a month to 2 months. You'll get it done. Just practice the song slowly. Right now i can play the song, but not perfectly.
