Representing Hermes by the lyre is absolutely genius since Greek myths say Hermes invented that instrument. I'm absolutely obsessed with this musical 💚💚
@@DinoandGalaxyNo he stole cows from Apollo and Apollo wanted to punish him by sending him to Tartarus. Hermes managed to bargain his way out of it, as a baby, by giving Apollo the newly invented Lyre (mad of tortoise shell and cow intestines) and double flute (snake spines).
The “No length I wouldn’t go” makes the question Zeus asks Odysseus in ‘Thunder Bringer’ about whether he’d “choose the lives of your men and crew or your own” much more significant.
We should teach Hermes that it is no good spying on your great grandchildren. I love how you add details in the songs. Oh my Hermes I’m in love with this musical!
The hidden messages are amazing it makes the transitions make so much more sense. Also brings more depth into the story that may highlight current or future events. I really like that about your music ❤❤❤
I honestly love all the little details that Jay puts into his music, it makes me so giddy and happy when I recognise motifs or music moments from earlier in the series :D Love your music Jay! And I can't wait for the Underworld saga IM SO EXCITED
That makes sense that Hermes was in puppeteer at the end because the first line in “Wouldn’t You Like” he says is “I must say what a brilliant speech you gave” and he would have only said that because he was listening in I love all of the conventions Epic the musical is amazing so far and I enjoy all of it keep up the great work Jay
I'm obsessed with this entire musical but i think the Circe Saga has to be my fave. Hermes and Circe are my favorite characters, I love them so much lol. There's so much thought and details in everything and you can really tell how much Jay's hard work has paid off with everything in EPIC. Can't wait for the next saga!!!
SO COOL! Mr. Jalepeno you're the BEST!!! I love your music and sing it all the time. It's becoming an earworm for my family, but I love how you run us through all the awesome secrets your music contains. I really appreciate you doing this, and I hope that you make it, cause you deserve it.
After the first time talking about characters being backed by certain instruments to show their presence I immediately realized that during Storm you can hear trumpets throughout the entire song implying that Poseidon was already there trying to interfere with their journey before they get to the land of the giants.
OMG IS THAT THE SAME LYRE MELODY AS ONE OF THE SCRAPPED HERMES SONGS? Its so cool to see how different parts of cut songs still make it into the songs!!
That's so crazy! Thank you for making these videos, I'm not musically inclined and all of these fun, intricate details would pass me by otherwise 😅 I love Epic and getting to hear it and learn about all the effort that goes into is just a joy!
I knew it!! I knew Hermes had been eavesdropping but I didn’t know exactly where in Puppeteer he was doing it! I love learning and seeing the hidden details in this musical! Man I love EPIC
At first, I was like "yea I know Hermes is there, he's in the window eating popcorn (in Gigs Animatic)" lol But that in Done For. Love this Musical! One of my top favorites!
Parts of me wants the staging and costuming REALLY on the nose. Imagine the humans in historical clothes, and Athena is just in modern military ceremonial suit, hermes looks like stolen from a 70's disco and Ares in Combat armor
Man there are so many of these kinds of details. I’ll never notice them if I didn’t subscribe to this channel. I do love hearing about them and catching them in the music when I listen again.
Bro now I’m about to go and try to find any bits of the lyre in the first two sagas! I probably won’t have the ear for it, but it’ll be really cool to know when Hermes is being a lil snoop. All these small details just make this musical sooooo much better and AAA! I can’t wait for the next saga and all the songs to come! You’re taking Newsies’s spot for my favorite musical with ZERO CONTEST
If I ever come around to making animatics about this saga I'll definitely just incorporate Hermes spying on them in the bushes every time his motif shows up before Wouldn't You Like
Oh my gods you are a genius! Both musically and writing wise! I listen to your songs almost non stop. Keep making music and writing and keep making people happy with your talents!!
I've said it once and I gladly say it again. I usually never listen to musicals, but Epic The Musical is definitely a exception. The work and effort Jay (I don't remember the name 😅🙈) put's into each Song, makes sure everything fits for each character in the story, is on a amazing level that I never knew would be able to reach. I just started up with voice acting in 2023, and started creating my own RUclips series, and Jay is definitely a huge inspiration for me🖤🔥
So by this logic, does this mean that Athena is the one who sent Hermes in "Wouldn't you like" with that bold Piano where he is telling Odysseus Cerce's tactics???
I knew Hermes had to have heard the conversation did to the begining lines of 'wouldn't you like' but i hadn't caught on to his instruments literally dropping into the music
at this point I will only be listening in for stuff like this because mwa, chef's kiss beautiful(I now listen for danger music and have pointed it out to people like in warrior of the mind)
I knew I sensed something off about parts of the song (in a good way as I'm a sucker for special details) I will say I did also think that near the end of the song the final melody hermes was also spying there. Guess not but it's fun to imagine
Ahhhhh! That is HILARIOUS and super fun! 😀 I wanted to say oh my gosh you inspire me so much! Your journey has been amazing, and it shows in your songs! Just watched all of your music videos in a row. Took about two hours. Totally worth it. You have got talent and determination good sir!! Slay!! If you ever need an extra to sing (and my voice is a good fit for your song ofc and you even see this comment, or if you even need it or want to- don't wanna pressure anything, i getchu) let me know 😂🤩 You're amazing!!!
The same thing happens in The Horse and The Infant (But with Athena) At the start, you can hear a ticking clock which means that Athena was most likely watching
The best part of this musical when you realise at nearly every turn there is a hidden detail you end up trying to find more of these but OMG I CANT BELIEVE THIS WAS SUCH A COOL DETAIL GOD I love Hermes❤❤
I love how Hermes is just spying on Odysseus the whole saga
Well it's the *_HERMES saga,_* duh
YESSS 😂
He just wants some entertainment
Representing Hermes by the lyre is absolutely genius since Greek myths say Hermes invented that instrument. I'm absolutely obsessed with this musical 💚💚
I thought they said that he has a child stole it from apollo or something

@@DinoandGalaxy it’s ok lol. Don’t worry about it

I was laughing because Hermes is definitely the type to just eavesdrop 😂
HAHAHAHAHA RIGHT?!?😂🙌🏼💙🕺🏻✨
Literally
He can eavesdrop on anything he wants
I love the fact that his presence is still there in a subtle way-just as you'd expect from the trickster god!
☺️☺️☺️🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🕺🏻🕺🏻🕺🏻✨✨✨
Yesss Such a good idea!!!!
I love the hidden details in the music!!!
Also Hermes being an eavesdropper makes so much sense XD
The drama is rich and I am here for it.
Hermes
Thank you so much!!! 🥹🙏🏼 it makes me so happy that you’re enjoying it!!
"I must say...
*THIS IS INTERESTING TEA TO SPILL"*
@@user-bc1kl3xf9e This tea is rather rich
@@user-bc1kl3xf9e I'm betting that he's just gathering all the tea to spill with Persephone
I can imagined Hermes is sitting a tree somewhere watching all of unfold while sipping nectar until his Introduction song
Yesssss like with a silly straw and wearing his little shades?? I can sooo see that!
I mean I'm pretty sure Odysseus is his favorite sitcom when he's not sending out messages for the gods.
Occasionally a drama, he drops magic weapons whenever he wants to see a boss fight
Imagining the canned laughter, except it's all Hermes' laugh
Who else can see Hermes with a bag of popcorn while he watches the entire odyssey
Hermes just can't keep away from the drama. I wouldn't have noticed that, well played Jay.
Reminds me of Athena hanging around sometimes.
The depth of this whole musical makes it all the more interesting and spectacular! Tysm for creating my favorite musical🫶🏻💙
Your favorite musical? 🥺🥺🥺 I’m honored!!!! 😭😭😭🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼💙💙💙 Thank you so so so much! That means the world to me!!!
Not Hermes just getting all of the tea from spying on his great grandson
The opening melody to Puppeteer is also a lyre, he literally was spying THE WHOLE TIME.
0:51 When he said this my mind immediately went it’s the liar!
The “No length I wouldn’t go” makes the question Zeus asks Odysseus in ‘Thunder Bringer’ about whether he’d “choose the lives of your men and crew or your own” much more significant.
This makes me love Hermes' character and Puppeteer even more! The amount of detail in the music is just incredible. 🤩

Hermes being a secret spy for the gods
Yeah we don’t need Hermes to sing. besides it’s Hermes we all know his presence 😎
I definitely caught the implication that Hermes had been spying in the lyrics. I didn’t realize it was in the music too! Absolutely fantastic!
I love these small little clues in the music. It's like solving a puzzle.
The sheer thought and effort put in this musical by Jorge is just commendable

I already figured it out from the lyrics alone, but to hear that in the actual music in such a subtle way is SO MUCH FUN!!!
I figured he was spying in a way on the based on his opening line in "Wouldn't you like" but it's so cool that he's actually in "puppeteer".
That makes so much more sense now 😭 I was wondering what Hermes meant when he said “what a brilliant speech you gave”
