they cut the tail later on because it can bring health issues for the sheep, like if poop is stuck in the fur then flies will collect and lay eggs and so on...
Yeah looks really flaccid and weak- I wonder if they’ve been bread so long and having them docked that whole time, they probably just got weaker and weaker over time
Depending on the environment sheep get their tails doct in order to avoid fly strike (it's a nasty condition), usually only in warm climates where flies are abundant.
What a beautiful story! We sure could learn a bunch about love 💕 & acceptance from these animals! Embrace our differences, while uniting over what makes us all the same! What a wonderful world 🌎 it would be! 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I've heard it's to prevent flystrike, which is where flies lay eggs around the sheep's bottom. When the eggs hatch the flies start to eat the sheep alive.
Isn't it crazy how some animals...different than house breeds want to belong to a loving family!!!! Everything in the world just wants to be shown love. I thank all who have opened my eyes to share these amazing life pet stories. Love has no bounds!!❤
I often think there will have to be animals, Trees, streams, green grass, wind, sun , and blue skies in heaven or I just can’t imagine it being beautiful.
My dad would accept ANY animal that needed a home. So growing up with my 12 Siblings. We had a billy goat called Sir William. A Shetland pony named Jelly. She stole a bowl of jelly at my sisters 5th birthday party. An unwanted milking cow named Patches. When she passed of old age. My dad threw a neighbourhood bbq. Free beef for all that came. There were loads of latchkey kids my dad fed daily while their parents worked. We also had about 40 to 50 rabbits. My dads rabbit stew was awesome. 4 ducks & 9 chickens & a Rooster named. Daisy duck. Dolly duck. Dozey duck. Daffy duck. Jilly chicken. Josie chicken. Janey chicken. Jenny chicken. Joaney chicken. Julie chicken. Janet chicken & joplin chicken & juju chicken. The Rooster was Mr Coburn. A feral cat named Satan. Only my dad could feed it. As she was vicious as hell. An a gypsy vanner horse named Trigger. Plus over 30 German Shepherds of various ages. It was a good job we had the biggest garden in the neighbourhood lol. 😊😊
Baby Lambs have to be the cutest animals. And those dogs just letting it join the group is so cool. Dogs seem to be the most accepting of the animal kingdom.
Do you dock the tail?!? Thats so mean ! They cant hush aways flies! Can get flie eggs! Why ? Do you always keep them in barn, so the tail will be squished? I dont get it... And yes, i HAVE ownd a barn, and 200 sheeps. It was small,i know, but it was enough for that area. So i DO know a bit about sheeps. Thats why i ask. Even when barn was filled up dith mama's and babyrs, they still had space to not get hurt...if it rarely happend ,wr would deal with it ,but it would be a issue when sherps are let out. The first green grass are strong for system, so upset stomack, and thennit could be sore if we dont tended to it asap. The tale was a big help.... I dont get it.
@@TG-hp8og It's done for several reasons but mainly for sanitary reasons. I googled it and the tails can collect waste and then the sheep end up infested with blow flies.
@@TG-hp8og are you insinuating I dock sheeps tails? I dont even own sheeps . But farms always does for several reasons and yes while it might be painfull its to avoid fly strikes from poopy butts from what I know . When it happens the maggots would eat the sheep flesh and hide in the fleece. I would never do that myself . But you need to realise that industrial size farms where sheep are graze on vaste pastures (which is really bad for the environment) farmers can't alway watch their sheeps all at once and when they find the sheep the fly strike could be bad . Since this sheep wasn't docked it show it was not found by the farmer and got lost and now he will be much happier. You need to understand what animals go thrue before going to your plate and its much worse than just tail docking
@@TG-hp8og Most sheep are so changed by domestic breeding that they would die in the wild. If you don't dock a sheep's tail it will get nasty and infected. Same reason they must be sheared. Do research and think with your head, not your heart.
@@TG-hp8ogthey have to be docked in arid areas where heat can cause fly strikes as sheep can’t swat their bottoms like horses and cows due to their thick tail. They don’t have to be docked in colder climates, but fly strikes can be very harmful to sheep
I have 3 Paddy lambs. One I didn't see for several months. The moment he saw me he came running up for an ear scratching... I'm blessed eh... they love and remember you...
Awe lambchops. This is so sweet. Now Lam Lam, this little cutie has a forever wonderful loving home. That poor dog can't tinkle in peace. So funny. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
So I spent my first 50 years in the east coast then went to TN for a year. People have for sale signs in their front year for piglets, calf’s, lamb and goats. I was always stopping in to see the babies. The lambs were my favorite. The woman that breed lambs was so funny. We’d see her walking down the street w 6 leashes in harnesses. Good times. If you e never been to TN, I highly recommend it. ❤
Thorn bushes can kill sheep, the thorns and vines get tangled in their wool and they sheep will be trapped until it dies. Because of this some have gone as far as to call wild berry bushes "the larges carnivorous plant on earth"

Gives a whole new meaning to the term Sheepdog 😂😂
I love it!
🙌🏾🤣😂🧡
Or maybe she’s a Dogsheep! 😂
That's actually cus sheep dogs look like sheep.
Omg 😢❤
My dogs would absolutely adore such an exotic addition to the pack 😂
Same haha, the more energy the merrier
Sheep are considered exotic now?
That little lamb thinks she's a dog ❤
~ "mint sauce!!!" ~
She fits right in for sure ❤
❤❤now she's a dog ..how precious❤❤
What an adorable little lamb. I've heard of the cat distribution system. But the lamb distribution system is also quite effective.
I was just going to comment this. I've also seen this phenomenon happen with sloths, crows, raccoons, and squirrels.
I never knew lambs had such long tails, that they had them docked like some breeds of dogs.
I had to rewatch the video after reading your comment lol
Yeah, it makes going to the bathroom easier for them.
they cut the tail later on because it can bring health issues for the sheep, like if poop is stuck in the fur then flies will collect and lay eggs and so on...
I believe it's because of a fleece, since it just keeps growing it much easier to shear a sheep while it's tail is docked, also keeps it cleaner...
You dock them so they don't get flystrike
Thank you for saving this beautiful life❤
🎉 thanks for saving lamb lamb and others. Pamela in Detroit

Thank you for being an amazing person and rescuing this beautiful lamb♥️💗💜
Look at that tail , wonderful ❤️
Never occurred to me that their tails were naturally that long.
Same and there is literally a farm across from my school ik like, a hundred farmers
Yeah looks really flaccid and weak- I wonder if they’ve been bread so long and having them docked that whole time, they probably just got weaker and weaker over time
some types of sheep don’t get their tails docked at all. hopefully this guy takes the time to bathe or clean this lamb so its tail doesn’t get dirty.
Depending on the environment sheep get their tails doct in order to avoid fly strike (it's a nasty condition), usually only in warm climates where flies are abundant.
She fits right in...welcome home ba ba !!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
How cute. We had lambs in 4H, I could actually see us having a lamb as a pet. ❤❤😊😊

I love that tail! Sometimes I understand there's necessary reasons for farmers in shortening the tail, but it is so cute long
So cute🖤🖤
It helps with fly strike.
Yeah it’s cuz parasites like laying their eggs in the caught up poop
They can get infections since most farmers have hundreds of sheep and can't keep them clean but this little one should be okay.
I've heard it's to prevent flystrike, which is where flies lay eggs around the sheep's bottom. When the eggs hatch the flies start to eat the sheep alive.
Thank you to the guy for giving her a new family ❤.

@@dontaskdontell6022 and the rabbits too :o I'd never survive farm life!
My mother would love a little pet lamb. She loves them so much.
This is too adorable, I may need to get her one, just so I can enjoy it too.
Your state may have(if from US) specific regulations so make sure to look into that, it's not easy looking after one
How Precious ❤thanks for saving her
