@@Sekir80 I'm not Grand master, but when I'm laddering I at least take a cursory look at every replay. Its the only way that I really improve.
@@Sekir80 When he always had his units in position against my muta without ovies or changelings I got a bit suspicious. Before checking the replay I figured I probably missed his scouting units but after watching from his perspective it was pretty obvious to me.
Tbh I think a lot of high level team game players are map hackers but I find it really rare in 1v1. Although I did catch a couple more people around 2 years ago.

Especially in ZvZ, where you're basically constantly at risk of a dying very suddenly from making a wrong move in the early game baneling wars...
I take it that you are not GM because, I am sorry to burst your bubble, GM players can sometimes be the dumbest people known to the human race and will do extremely random, dumb shit. For example, the last TvZ I played was against a 5.4k Zerg that did not scout and did a blind roach all in, and then got crushed because I was doing a hellion banshee build. Players who are GM/high level have different styles: you get some extremely smart players, who are not mechanically strong; you have people who can only cannon rush or proxy 4 rax; you have people who play heavily reactive and scout; you then have people who play blind and just execute a build really well.
The lack of scouting is not telling, consistently countering something without scouting is telling.

Hunting the mutas with the whole army to the other side of the map without any vision is pretty blatant too.
I still can't believe how incompetent he was. He had maphacking vision KNOWING not only where the mutas were, but how many of them he had, and the banelings. He had to know he didn't have the army to make at least two of those big engagements he lost badly... Not knowing a lick of what his composition should be for basic counters, even being able to see the enemies composition at all times. That is really sad.

Pros of maphax: might go up like 100-500 mmr, basically just 1 step higher diamond (1 whole leauge in metal leauges)
Cons of maphax: Might get banned
Still need to be good at the game, and better you get the less benefit it provides as you should be better at scouting higher up you go

it does not give less benefit the better you get. If anything, it does require actual skills to cheat without being caught, pro cheaters (I know!) know when to purposefully lose only to win in a clutch condition
alvin wiltan Here’s the thing, Its just free scouting and map vision, something which you haveMORE of better you get. Which means you get LESS of a benefit (aka less free mapvision and scouting)

@@snowdrop9810 Imo the better you are, the more you are able to do with free bonus information, so you get more of a benefit the better you are, your reasonning of better = more scout => less benefit feels way weaker that this.
KiraKamiMax you know, that caps out around like say diamond. So bronze to diamond, the better you get, the better the hax support you, then its opposite
Okay but "You really need the lurkers here" happened *so long* before he got the lurkers. A GM who didn't maphack their way to that rank wouldn't make that mistake. Sure, the lurker den was about when he needed it, but the lurkers took like 3-4 minutes from the den finishing.

I won a Warcraft 2 LAN tournament organized by a friends father for him and all his friends. Second place in the Battlezone 1v1 though, I think my tank loadout was off or I chose the Soviet tank when the American grizzly with the super stabber was the superior one with its sleeker model and better maneuverability. It was a close second. The WC2 tournament total route used death knights to hold his army while I built up to the flying dragons. The decay spell and summons made it difficult to break my turtle

I am fairly sure I had a run-in with a mini-maphacker at least. Only diamond 3 so it's not a big deal. The guy was kinda terrible and I was playing a meme build so it was meh. Still it's annoying...

I start building spores at a certain point in the game whether I've seen air or not.
Well, its not just that he build spores, its the amount of spores right as mutas are getting built. It's pretty rare to build 8 spores blind.. I could understand 3-4.
If i havent seen any tech from the other zerg, i do that too. But not 2 per base... Just one in the mineral lines. And also, despite only being diamond 1, i have better map vision than this guy and also try to run in lings and/or ovies to see if there are a spire. But sometimes you can just tell when its obvious spire. And then, i lose anyway :D haha, coz i suck.

How do you counter that many mutas as a protoss? I mean storms or archons are not really an option(slow) and with 15 mutas already on the map it's also too late for the stargate
i think you gotta scout and get phoenixes before the 15 mutas are out
Use the Oracle to tag them. Mutas aren’t a great fighting unit. You can hide Templar at your bases so when they go into to do damage you scan storm them. Leave archons at your base while you go kill them.
Really that’s the best option is to kill the Zerg because you have a stronger ground army. Zerg can’t dump that much gas and expect to beat a Protoss ground army. If they try fo fight they’ll take archon splash, storm, and stalker fire.
Of course your biggest mistake is letting Zerg get there. It sounds like you need to work on your scouting. Also spire is a popular first lair tech structure now. Dark or rogue or maybe both were using it a lot.

Don't want to be too mean here, but if the hacker had less info, they probably would have done better. Not saying they would have figured out lurkers but maybe take a fight on defense where spores down mutas.

Obvious cheat! I really don't get it. If you play a lot, you will get 50/50 losses and wins anyways. So when you are cheating, you are not winning above average. You climb higher for a short time and then you get to level where you lose again as much, with cheating. It is the opposite of losing games intentionally to get a lower league. Yeah, you will win your first 10 games afterwards, and then what?
Maphacking in GM its pointless, if you need a maphack you are not a good player and will still lose becuase of that

yeah but unless youre in high level, him using hacks and being matched with you only means thats hes way worse at the game than you, he might be able to see all of your attacks coming but he will get so nervious that he will most likely not be able to put a proper defense either way xd

My point Is, there Is too much difference in skill level between the top 0.1% and top 0.02% to call the first group "good" .

Tbh, I wouldn't even mind hackers... If they only played on team maps AGAINST computers only, in some sort of arcade game. And of course, they weren't doing anything too game breaking ofc (Still remembering the old sc1: bw patch, where people had the hack that blew up addons for like 10000s of thousands in gas and minerals. Was like wtf).
Unfortunately... You have lazy skates who want to try and cheat their way into higher ranks on a ladder, which is what people want to train to be very good at, vs other players, who do not have the same advantages, and who can't do what you do on a level playing field. That's just infuriating. And yeah, let's boot them the hell out of the game.

as much as i enjoy these videos, it would be better if winter just kept adding strikes instead of giving clear passes to try and keep 'tension' on whether or not 3 strikes would be met...case in point, it took until the 12:30 mark

I agree, I would build 6 spores there like that because I am THAT BAD, the other clicking into fog was so obvious even I could see it.
basic defensive measures would be 1 spore maybe in each base thats saturated if you suspected mutas, 2 spores in each base when you only have 3 or 4 base and not all of them are saturated is a commitment and a risk if youre not sure there is mutas
Wait the spores were really suspicious since it's masters, and investing so much minerals and drone with no scout makes no sense. The only excuse there could be is if they played vs each other and the guy in red rushed a spire last time, but that's really a weak defense for the map hacker
@@comandantethorn9929 so he built 6 for 3 base, 2 per, not that much, could have been a lucky guess or unseen scouting that he actually did. It's really not more than a fluke until you see what you see later in the video.
@@snoopstp4189 you have to take on account that he did the 6 spores on 3 base not saturated and the hydra den at the same time, if he wasnt cheating thats a really big and unnecessary gamble
