Now that y'all mentioned it it would make sense that Daniels play Bubbles he played a recovering addict on The Corner and an undercover turned addict on Oz which was both on HBO. Lots of the cops on the Wire was addicts on the corner including Lester. Y'all have to watch The Corner and Oz if y'all haven't.
Marlo became, The Boogeyman. Nobody wants to think of him, say his name, or even want to acknowledge that he had ever existed. Everybody knows Omar, of whom, in kind of a way, reaches legendary status like, Rohin Hood. Marlo is not something that you want to find under your bed in the middle of the night, neither have either of his 'Flying Monkeys,' Chris and Snoop, to be peeking at you from inside of your closet in the dark.
He's in We Own This City where he plays a cop and does a pretty good job of shaking Marlo. Helps that he's noticeably older so doesn't really have that menacing Marlo demeanour
@@brazyfilmo3121 yeah real enough that they intentionally never explained how the nicknames came up, they just are as they are, like the issues of baltimore
Dominic West trying to pronounce "Snotboogie" correctly is low-key hilarious. Reminds me of my Gen-Z daughter telling me I'm mispronouncing some slang term when I think we sound exactly alike.😅
Some unbelievable acting and writing in this show. The Wire is my favorite TV show of all time. There were so many memorable performances and amazing scenes.
DUKIE auditioned for MICHAEL... omg. Season 4 would have been completely ass-backwards. That said, Dukie is in my top 10 favourite characters in the whole show.
Lol man it’s so bizarre how directors and casting directors and the big wigs behind film making know EXAVTLY where ppl belong according to their personalitys & the show😂 truly crazy and mind blowing man. The guys at hbo just make the best TV show ever filmed EVERY time they do a show lol…. I mean deadwood, sopranos, band of brothers, game of thrones, the wire, weeds, curb your enthusiasm, sex and the city & many more😂 it’s crazy man hahah. It lets u know that it wasn’t by chance. These guys are the best of the best. If they can’t make a hit show out of ur script then ur script ain’t good enough😂 these guys r true professionals. It must be so fun working on a production like that, that u know is gonna be a massive hit due to the skill of the crew & actors. Gotta be a cool feeling.
The real Jay Landsman would eventually be cast as Bunny Colvin's partner. It's interesting that Jamie Hector read for the part of "Cutty" considering his age. Most likely just seeing how he could handle something heavier, given how little Marlo talks when we first meet him. He would be a difficult character to cast, needing to find the mix between the young players we've been seeing and a whole new type of unspeaking "evil" for lack of a better word. Slim Charles will always be a standout, one of the BEST. Love how much Meth wanted on the show. He was already in HBO's good graces playing Tug Daniels in an episode of Oz.
I think the casting choices definitely worked out for the best. I could see Tristan Wilds (Michael) as Randy, and Lance Reddick would have made a decent Bubbles (he played junkies in The Corner and Oz pretty effectively), but most of the others just wouldn't have worked, IMHO. And yes, Seth Gilliam would have been a _terrible_ Stringer Bell, 😂
My mind is so blown right now. Dukie could have been Michael and Chris could have been Marlo 😱. Michael could have been Randy?!? Carver could have been Stringer Bell???
maybe this is gonna sound petty or overly fangirlish, but i really wish they had the full uncut versions of these interviews up. i mean...i dunno, to me, this shit is History with a capital H
I wonder how Lance would be as bubbles. I saw him in "the streets" and seeing him as a crackhead did not work at all because of his no nonsense character iremember him for on the wire
McNulty's actor saying someone else would have been terrible in a role? Dude should not have been on this show, his american accent is so bad and distracting
Carver auditioning for Stringer is comical 🤣🤣🤣🤣
FACTSSSS 😭😭, like hell nahhh
Clay Davis as Lester freamon shiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeett
So Marlo auditioned for cutty, slim Charles auditioned for Marlo, n Daniels auditioned for bubbles, lmao, the wire would've been so different
baybridge49 imagine slim as fruit. Show would’ve been wayyyyy different. Solid ham underrated character
Carver for stringer imagine
Daniels is the only one I could see playing the role he auditioned for, he was great playing addict and narc Johnny Basil in Oz.
@@ultimate0706 And Corners!! Most of cast on Corners is on the wire.

Chris Partlow as a cop lol.
He was a priest on SVU
😂 He'd get the job done though, believe that
Drive by them slow
@@GABRIELA-ACEVEDO. just saw that😂
When I’m slotted for hearing confession… I get there an hour early. Sometimes two
Lmfao Marlo scary even when he's talking normally 😂

yea I cant really see Jamie Hector as anything else. I saw him on CSI Miami and was like thats Marlo !
He’s one of the scariest characters I’ve ever seen on television. I took a lot of rules for me to be able to look past Marlo.
He's in We Own This City where he plays a cop and does a pretty good job of shaking Marlo. Helps that he's noticeably older so doesn't really have that menacing Marlo demeanour
Bubbles chewing bubble gum throughout the show would have been corny as hell 😂😂😂
Like he’s really spending that money on bubble gum😂
Or like having cheese eat cheese like we get it. The wire was too smart for that corny stuff tho.
@@brazyfilmo3121 yeah real enough that they intentionally never explained how the nicknames came up, they just are as they are, like the issues of baltimore
Imagine if Dukie and Micheal switched places.... because i cant even imagine that lmao
Dukie looks to soft 🥲
Chris seem too fucking friendly
It’s always the ones that play evil characters are so friendly irl
except snoop😭
Letting go the real Jay Landsman cause he wasn’t good enough for himself is insane LMFAOO
The casting for the wire was perfect
Characters: Thick ass badass American Accent.
Actor: Teedeeleedee wan' a cup of tea? God Save the Queen.
It's so funny. McNulty and Stringer have this special connection on and off the screen.
Two english dudes on set together.
The fact McNulty is a Brit blows my mind
Stringer is too
Great stuff, amazing how they audition for other parts and you can’t see them as anything but what they played so well.
Dominic West trying to pronounce "Snotboogie" correctly is low-key hilarious. Reminds me of my Gen-Z daughter telling me I'm mispronouncing some slang term when I think we sound exactly alike.😅
Bunk actually having that voice is awesome
Some unbelievable acting and writing in this show. The Wire is my favorite TV show of all time. There were so many memorable performances and amazing scenes.
Oh shit Chris was a cop! Lol
Method Man was also on Oz. Probably helped his credentials
Fun fact : Snoop originally read for Judge Phalen.
Marlo is still scary even in normal life
In the end everyone's role was perfect 👌
Carver woulda been a TERRIBLE Stringer 😂😂😂
On god 😂, ain’t no way
I auditioned for Robo-COP and nailed it!!
Chris basically is Marlo 😂
RIP Reg E. Cathey
Can you imagine any of these actors playing the other characters who they auditioned for?
Chris partlow was a cop😳😂
Jay Landsman wasn't good enough to play himself? Fuck 😂😂 that's all kinds of fucked up 😭😂
DUKIE auditioned for MICHAEL... omg. Season 4 would have been completely ass-backwards. That said, Dukie is in my top 10 favourite characters in the whole show.

I would love to see the audition footage for all these 😂
Clay Davis as Lester would have been funny
Cant believe Chris was a cop
McNulty's real voice sounds like he's doing an accent
Chris as a cop hahahahaha
Reg E Cathy could might have pulled off playing cool Lester Smooth.
The people make the right call
Clay davis, as Lester ?! Sheeeeeeeeit...
0:12 He would have been good as Lester in my opinion.
I think The Corner, Oz and The Wire is connected. It's like different multiverse for the characters
From Micheal to dookie wow thats bogus asl😭
My mind is so blown right now. Dukie could have been Michael and Chris could have been Marlo 😱. Michael could have been Randy?!? Carver could have been Stringer Bell???
Daniels, as bubbles ?! Sheeeeeeeeeit...
Ooooh shit I didn't know McNulty was from Britain
Idris Elba and Dominic West are British
@@SantomPh I knew Idris is. didn't know Dominic was
Carcetti is Irish
Crazy part Chris was a cop 👮♀️
Method Man was amazing as Cheese.
Gotta be this or breaking bad for the best show ever
Imagine dookie as Michael 😂😂
🤣 McNulty roasting Carver on not landing Stringer Bell, savage af. Basically said my guy can't act

Reg would've made a decent Lester or Daniels.
The worst and best casting director in the history of television.
McNulty's actor saying someone else would have been terrible in a role? Dude should not have been on this show, his american accent is so bad and distracting
Lance Reddick as Bubbles is just gross
He played an addict in the corner which was basically the prequel to the wire
Well sheeeeit, things coulda been a lot different.
This is crazy!!!
