I absolutely love this guy!!!! He loves his dog more than his lawn!
Ridiculously valuable info! Direct into the point. No Algorithm manipulation.
Thanks man that's some good information.
Like you, our dog is part of our family. We treat him like our kid.
One of the ways we got our dog to drink more water surprisingly was to give him bottled spring water. He loves it, and we put a water bowl in our family room where we spend most of our time so he doesn't have to leave the room to get a drink. Lol, spoiled
This is a very common sense thing to do and I never thought of it before.....thank you!
Great tutorial thanks for the advice.
What a beautiful yard. Great videos!!
Very well done my friend! Just the advise I needed. thx
Thank you for this information.
Thank you!! I love your tips and thorough explanations!
Had to subscribe because your videos are short yet detailed info , much appreciated!
Very helpful and informative video. Thank you!!!!
Thank you, very helpful
Great video, lots of good info. Thanks for sharing. However, in my neighborhood, there are many people who walk their dogs and allow them to poop (not too bad, most of them pick it up with a poop bag) The problem is the urine burns that we don't know about, as we don't see them doing it. I personally have lost two flowering plants and have urine burn, as well as my neighbors. Thanks anyway for an interesting video.
Not much you can if you don't see it when it happens. You can also look into motion activated sprinklers but some may not like that. Just depends on how far your willing to go. LoL
Best video I have seen about this matter. Covered all areas detailed.
A heavy hand of dolomitic lime has been working on already burned spots for me...takes a few weeks but the same grass comes back green
First pee of day thing is news to me...makes alot of sense....thank you!
Great tips will Start using them today!!!
much better than yelling at your dogs. they have feelings too.
Thank you!
Excellent!
Great info
Very accurate
Im impressed!!
Thanks a lot!!
Awesome video!!!!! Thanks so much bro 😎
Excellent idea thx

Good idea 💡 Thanks
Thank you for a Safe way🙏
A great video with good advice 👍🏼
Thank you 🙏! Great tips. Best regards
Great tip!
Great video thanks brother 🙏
Thank you so much
Great idea, I’m going to fill my watering can tonite👍
Great tip. I just bought seed to regrow that area and this will help me keep it nice when it does. Thank you!
Great Advice 👍
Great video!!
To the point! Great video 🙌🏻
Very knowledgeable information.. Thank you . Be well
Thank you
Thanks.
Best dog burn video I’ve found. My main problem is after winter since I live in a state with 0 degree temps all winter and feet of snow. Hard to water in all that snow and cold. I am going to aerate and put some humic acid down.
Thanks Josh, you can try to create a specific spot. I made a video about creating a dog potty area.
Hey man that was very helpful information. Thanks....now I’m more informed when customers ask about burn spots from dog urinating on lawns.
I been using this technique for a while now and it works. It does involve some work on our part though.
Great advice not do difficult to follow either. Thanks mate!
Your very welcome, good luck.
Superb video
Since my guy is outside while I'm at work, I set the sprinklers to run 3 minutes, 3 times a day. 9am, noon and 3pm. It has greatly helped minimize the burn.
Good job good presentation thank you for your hard work
Thanks for the kind words.
To the point. Nice video
🌞 Yeah, I've got little green spots everywhere, right now. Thanks for sharing, this sounds like a great job for one of my kids. 🌞
Yea, my oldest is helping with this job when I cant do it.
thank you so much, very helpful, Sounds logical.
It really works but involves some work on the human part also. It has become a routine for me to have water out by the door at all times and just put a small amount on the urine.
Great advice. I’ve been using a hose but am going to try the watering can 👍🏻
So much easier to have the water at the ready. If you have the room, I would also create a dog potty area.
Great vid.
Thank u so much for this.
This really works but with the heat of summer, I find I have to water almost every time the dog goes. Once the heat goes down, I can back off to watering only the first pee of the day.
I love this bromigo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great advice. My Fescue/Rye/KBG on Ohio compacted clay is really taking a hit this year.
It takes a lot of discipline to consistently have water nearby at all times for my dog. It really works but the bigger the dog, the more frequent you have to water.
You need iron on that lawn to green it up. Thanks for the tips really appreciate you taking the time.
Nice yard my man
Great tip! We have a couple of golden doodles (mum/daughter) along with Bermuda grass;; been doing the same thing. You have to use plenty of water, though, otherwise you can make the patches worse.
I find i have to use alittle more water during hotter days. It seems the bigger the dog, the more you have to water. I remember I didn't have to use as much water with my little chihuahua a few years back.
Liked and Subbed, thank you !
Dog rocks actually work really well. They don't alter your dog's chemistry at all which is really important to me since I don't like giving mine anything I wouldn't take myself. They work by absorbing nitrates and other plant-killing chemicals from the dog's drinking water so they won't be as concentrated in the urine. You swap the rocks out every 2 months or so, since they'll have sponged up as much as they can by then, and after that I use them in my garden or give them to friends with fish/reptiles for cover/decor
Great vid
Thanks for watching
Good video! Watched this video a while back. Followed the advice and it works pretty well on our bluegrass/fescue mix lawn. We still get spots but not too bad. Would rather do this than replace carpet in the house because the dog won't go outside. My feelings are the same as yours about supplements. Our older dog does drink a lot of water during the day as he has lymphoma, is on steroids, and drinks like a horse (pees like one too), but only his first urine of the day is what we worry about. Our younger dog is typical and we do his first pee of the day as well. Both of them (males) are 50/50 about squatting or lifting leg on fence to pee. Not a big nuisance for us. However, it's only our backyard and dogs need yards to play! They do not pee on the garden plants! Might also add that using a good winterizer fertilizer helps as well for the lawn coming back strong in the spring. Thanks for the video!
Happy this worked out for you. I amde a video a while back about creating a doggy spot and training to go there. This has been one of the best investments I made. Creating a dog potty area is only worth it if you have your own yard and a little space.
4:16 😂😂 facts. I have a fountain, birdbath and 2 ponds and my dog does drinks from all of them but only when she wants to
Awesome info. I wish I'd known this 7 months ago! I have some bad spots now, how do I go about fixing them?
ruclips.net/video/b9hg1yDB9g8/видео.html
Great video my dude! To get your dog to drink more water, add some sort of (salt and sodium free) broth to their water. Mine love bone broth.
Interesting, thanks for sharing.
Best advice ever thanks! My husky killed my new SOD this week. Will the grass recover I have like 5 brown spots.
What type of grass?
Great tip! It’s true, never occurred to me that first time in the morning is the one that really burns that bad the lawn..!
Adding a bit of low sodium chicken or beef broth in their driking bowl gets them to drink more water 👍👍
I'm gonna give this a go. Ive got 1yr old Zoysia and it's finally looking good except for the long area by the sidewalk, maybe 12 spots there. I never see them do it, looks like I'll be watering every day out there lol.. thanks again
You can give it a try but this may not work unless your able to water right away. Not sure how zoysia will react, I know bermuda is really sensitive to urine and will yellow right away.
@@TheALG I think you're right but a little water can't hurt. I just hate I can't catch them in the act lol.
Motion activated sprinklers from amazon, you might make neighbors angry though.
@@TheALG 🤣🤣
Great information. Now how to you get your lawn back after it’s been burned?
If its bermuda, it will come back by itself.
What do you do about a lawn that is exposed to neighbors dogs in a HOA run neighborhood where you can’t put up a fence in the front yard and no one bothers taking the dogs around back to where no one cares? Ie I’m not babysitting my mini yard (can’t do a sprinkler) and there are 800 neighbors. Technically it’s home owners only, but they haven’t enforced the covenants. They do have dog poo stations and pick up bags but that’s it.
Thats a hard one, if your not there to water then this won't work. I know you said you can't do sprinklers but there are motion deer sprinklers which will go off if someone sets it off but that may make your neighbors angry. Besides that the only other thing you can try is avoid fertilizing the front but a really big dog will cause damage regardless.
My biggest problem is fixing the damage she does over winter. We get A lot of snow so much so that we actually have to plow her a path to use. Once the snow melted I am left with HUGE dead patches that I have to reseed every spring. It sucks. No more dogs for me.
I made a video about creating a dog potty area, this might be a good solution for you
How much is your water bill
May I ask the sq ft of you house? Mine is 2400sq ft. and only has one central air unit and the guy said it is too powerful for my ducts.
4000 sqft here
Train them to go on a mulched area from the time they are pups. "Go back in your spot" works.
That does work but requires the homeowner to do some leg work. I appreciate your suggestion
Too late
Yeah..I asked my husband to do that when he got the bright idea to get the dog. Didn't happen.
Good luck with a rescue.
Question: so i want to kill those over growning grass in my yard.. can i just save my pee and water them? That would kill those area forever right? Roundup just doesnt do it.
You never know until you try. Let me know how that goes.
That is when it is your dog. What about neighbor dogs. Can watch when one works 8 -10 hours a day.
Thanks for the tip and demo, its funny how you are on top of your dog lol... Have a great day
That is something I need to be consistent on. I always try to follow her on the first pee of the day or if its extremely hot.
So you have to follow your dog around with a watering can? I mean my dogs are in the yard for 10 hours+ a day while I'm at work so this isn't possible for me. O well, back to the drawing board.

Try this instead
My dog is a stealth reliever. I'm trying to teach him to wiz on the gravel, but he's so sneaky. The weird thing is he only poops on the gravel.
Unfortunately, you do need to put in the time to train your dog to go pee in that spot. I understand it can be hard if you are at work. The only thing I can recommend is doing in on your vacation time.
@@TheALG I'm going to start tomorrow. I'll buy a bag of those little treats. He's highly food-motivated.
How to fix them
I add a drop or two of dish soap as well
I never tried that, I will give it a test.
Why? How does that help? Does it wash the grass better? Help it sink in the dirt better?
No idea Tom, I haven't had the chance to test this.
The soap will help breakdown the soil and allow the water to penetrate deeper
Thanks for the comment Tutto, I have tried it and i haven't had any bad reactions yet.
Great idea, but what if I have a job and can’t stay home to water the pee area…
You have to be around to witness the event. If thats not possible, then I would suggest creating a spot for the dog to go too but you would have to do the training initially.
Out of effin curiosity, I know, heard, and read that dog urine is bad for the lawn or grass. But like is it possible to make a liquid solution with dog urine and water (maybe like a huge drum of rainwater + little dog pee) make a barren land have grass??
Again it sounds so stupid but its been bothering me since last night. I was just thinking it might work?? Idk. Like you have to dig up the barren lot/land then use a pressurized sprayer( just spray a thin layer like 'misting'). Then continuously dig up the soil and mix and dig and mix. Only do this to a dead or lifeless soil. Without any weeds at all.
Maybe after some point of time, add a garden soil mixture then add vermicast... I think it might work?? Hahahaha
This theory sounds so good in my head. I know it sounds stupid but, these are like one of the questions you wanna ask just because it's been on your mind and you cant rest without it being answered.
A small amount of urine does give grass a boost of green color. The issue comes when there is a large amount of urine in a small spot. This is when it is too much for grass to handle. Technically it is considered organic but who would have thought cow and chicken manure would be so beneficial to turf soil. It is processed and the bag things are taken out so it can be used in fertilizers and such. I am sure you are not the first person to think of this but it is interesting.
@@TheALG thanks now I can sleep well 😂
Good info...really stretched out a 5 second video... "Pour water on it."
Does dog urine kill grass when the ground is frozen over the winter?
If the grass is dormant, meaning brown then most likely no. However, the top layer may be dormant but there is still some activity especially if its a bit warmer on certain days. There was one year when I let the dog go, without me watering in her urine amd the spots where she went, was slower to turn green when spring came around.
@@TheALG Thank you for your response. I have wondered about this. Your video here is the best I have seen on the subject, and I have watched many. I try to water spots when I can, but don’t always catch it. I live in South Dakota. The ground, even deeper than six inches, will be frozen from December thru March. I have always wondered if urine on frozen turf kills. I sometimes think it does when I look at my yard in the spring.
One other question. Does laying grass seed in South Dakota in October, just before a 5 month deep freeze, make any sense? I guess I just can’t find where seed can lay dormant in a deep freeze and still germinate in the spring.
AND, thank you so much for your replying to my concern. It means a lot. You have a new fan.
Its my pleasure to help. Seeding in the fall is a common practice but you want to do it before the freeze. When I lived up north, I would usually seed and allow alot of time for the seed to germinate before the freeze kicks in. I think some seeds may lay dormant until after the freeze but I would not rely on that. If you have a dog, I would look into creating a dog potty area. I made a video about this and it is the best investment I have done. You ofcourse need to have space to do it but when you do train your dog to go in one area, you won't have to worry about watering in urine.
So what I’m about to say is not very fact driven it’s very opinionated however I have owned multiple homes over the years and I’ve had the same dog and I have fed them the same diet over the few years and they have always had a healthy diet and I have never seen yellow spots in my grass now the front yard in the backyard are different types of grass and I’ve also lived in many different houses over the years so the grass has changed in my dogs diet has remain the same and I have not seen any patches now where I live other people do you walk their dogs over my grass and it’s very rare that I walk my dog on my grass in the front yard but I do see some spots due to other people walking their dogs and having them P in my yard so I don’t think it has anything to do with the soil I think it’s more so your dogs diet because I’ve been walking my dog in a very secluded area in the same neighborhood where I am assuming the same type of grass is laid and there has never been any dead spots in the grass however in the same grass different spot there are tons of yellow spots along side with everyone else’s yards in the same neighborhood but my backyard is spotless so I have a big inkling feeling that it has a lot to do with your dogs diet and what you feed them this is not fact driven I just saw this randomly on my recommended and decided I would drop my little bit of feedback on here I heard my grandmother talking about this the other day and this definitely sparked a reminder of my brain and I thought I would share it with you guys!
Thanks for sharing. Sometimes, experience is one of those things that makes sense. I do believe diet does play a big role. I am just curious what exactly do you feed your dog? I may want to copy what you are doing.
Cover that gallon of water standing water accumulates mosquitoes
Good idea, although it doesn't stand for more than 12 hrs because I have to constantly refill it.
If you're not able to prevent dog urine killing your grass, here's an easy fix: Get a weed puller or some tool that will pull up a small cylinder of dirt. Use that tool to pull up a small hole in where the urine is. Then, wherever you have the healthy grass, pull up a cylinder and plant that cylinder in the hole where the dog urine is. The nutrients will revitalize the earth in that spot and make the grass healthy again.
This did not work for me. Did it from an entire summer. Went out with her every single time. Even flagged the spots and and kept track weekly.
Do you have a big dog?
@@TheALG 65 lbs. She's not huge, but big enough. I used probably 3-4 litres daily.
I am not sure what happened. I can tell you what has worked for me. I watered in her urine right away and it prevented burns. I find when I am at work, my spouse is not as diligent as me. She would mark it with a flag and come back later to try to water it in and it was too late.
Get the black rocks... (sits in the.dogs water) treats 1/2 gal water. And lasts 2 months (cost $18 on Amazon) My neighbors all use them for years. And they work....
This may sound a little weird... but, I will share it.
When I am 'expecting' something to work... it usually does. Placebo's work this way also.
I've had many unusual experiences.... because I believe our thoughts, & feelings emit Energy constantly.
And our pets pickup on our Energy both instinctively, and telepathically.
Therefore we can have various results from similar circumstances.
I never had a flu-shot, or flu-vaccine, & I don't "attract" viruses. I believe my body does self-regenerate ongoingly.
And I'll start focusing on my dogs urine being less acid, & not burning my lawn.
I'll let you know... in a few months as I stop using the rocks as a Catalyst type Placebo. 💝
LOL show this to the lazy dog owner who let their dog pee and shit in my yard...
4:00 progressives shriek
Good video but... cheer up dude!
You should let the dog go outside the fenced area. Thats what I do.
Thats a good option, but it involves me going to open the fence and at night time, I dont want to go in the woods because of night creatures like raccoons, beavers, armadillos and deer. I am worried the dog will chase after things she shouldn't be chasing lol
welp You can kill the pee dog but you can't kill the dog pee
>:)
Happens with humans too....when my dog was a pup i would take him out in the early morning, he went and i went. Couple weeks later i couldn’t figure out where some of the burnt spots were from, turns out that’s where i was going 😂😂😂
Do you not have a toilet?? There's no reason for a human to pee outside.
@@fieldysgrl98 really? Obviously you live under a rock and your whole life has been spent in the city. 🤣🤣
That's hilarious. You need to drink more water!!! Lmbo
Or, water your own pee spot🤷♀️😂
feed the dog brown sauce in its food.(you do NOT need lots).. this way this piss wont burn the grass..unsure of the science but it works..
What is the brown sause ?
@@sighwilly9473 hp brown sauce.i think the american version is a1 steak sauce
Poor dog can’t have a discrete pee😂
Why don't you just take your poor dog our for a walk?
Who has time to watch a dog all day to see where it pees? I would think it's easier to not let the dog have the run of the entire yard. Fence off an area just for the dog. And this is even easier--get rid of the dog.
I have a 1 yr old big puppy. Got her at 5wks old. She's 1/2 Siberian Husky/Alaskan Malmute (dad 110lbs) & mom is 1/2 Border Collie/Pitbull (65lbs).
The most hyperactive dog I ever had. LOL
Yet the smartest to learn dog I ever had also. Almost gave her away when she was 8 months... constantly chewing wood, trees, the wooden gate, cement, & digging everywhere. And whatever she can find to destroy.. including her many toys. Now as of lately the lawn is full of brown spots.
She needs alot of time with ball fetch play, & walking, & running time, at least 2 hrs a day. And I work 8hrs a day, 5 days a week (gone 9hrs) & live alone.
I'm still deciding whether to keep her, or place her in a new home. She loves all people, & other dogs. A very lovable dog.
She would be better living in a family, with very active people... hunting, camping, mountain hiking, running, beaching/lakes.. (loves the water).
She is so bonded with me, & I would feel so much guilt if I was to give her up for adoption.
And I realize while writing this, I could not give her away. And her name is Angel.
And I'll deal.with her urine spots killing my grass.
Black rocks (sold on Amazon) added to the water stops the burning... runs about $10 a month.
Another reason why I dislike dogs
